First time at this place. We were sat at a table that was running down hill quite a bit. Waiting for server to come for us to order drinks. She didn't bring straws waited for her to come back with some and just decided to get our own. Ordered taco salad with beef. Edible bowl was almost burnt and from the portion it must have been for a child. The beef was greasy and all over the plate. A little tomatoes, sour cream and cheese was it! Tasteless and unappealing. Server never came back around again. Nobody was in there so not sure where she was. Ended up getting a to go box for my grandbaby. Probably will not be back here again. I wanted to like this place more than I did. It was a Friday night, so I try to take into account that there may have been understaffing, but the place wasn't crowded, per se. It took quite some time for each step of the meal: ordering drinks, getting drinks, ordering food, getting food, and we finally had to ask for checks. We spent almost 90 minutes here just for dinner. The food was ok. I got Nachos Margarita, and the nachos were soggy. I found them to also be spicy (I don't like spicy, which I know is not the palate for Mexican). The other 5 in our party said everything was good, but nothing out of this world. The place seemed clean and bright, which was nice. If we're back in Van Buren, we probably won't hit this place up again. read more

Me and my siblings stopped in here after a day of floating at The Landing and had a pleasant experience! The service was incredible! I did not catch our server's name but he was phenomenal! Our food was also great! The only thing I would say is that they don't give you very much queso on the food items. The ambiance was your average Mexican restaurant. My only complaint would be that it did take awhile for our food to come out and multiple tables who were seated after us received their food before we did. Food is good, I ordered enchiladas, chicken and beef. They tend to be on the mild side of things, (coming from Texas where the Mexican food is pretty spicy). Sauce has almost an Italian flavor to it... Chicken were the best. The young lady who seated us was helpful with questions about gluten. Our server was very friendly and welcoming. There is not much to say about this place. The food was just ok. I had steak fajitas and they were different than any other fajitas I have ever had. They had grilled onions and mushrooms in them. No bell peppers. They were really strange and the seasoning was off. The tortillas weren't very good either. My husband had a chimichanga and it was the smallest chimichanga we have ever seen. Maybe 3 inches long? The flour shells must have been small. The refried beans were average. He had potatoes in his refried beans. I ordered a side of pico de gallo and it had no flavor. It needed salt and lime. The place could use a good deep cleaning as well especially on their exposed duct work and vents. I wouldn't eat there again. read more

We were in Van Buren over MLK weekend so this is off-season and there wasn't much even open. Las Margaritas is in an old historic building downtown and is very spacious. Staff are friendly, helpful and were very responsive. Food was very good - I had nachos, my husband had enchiladas and our daughter had a chicken dish that was very good - my husband had to order the chicken dish to go as well! They have outdoor seating during the summer with the waterfront park just down the street. Food was reasonably priced and there was plenty to eat. Then the waitress comes and gives us the checks and says "the drinks may be messed up on each ticket"... what kind of service is this? Just reopened and remodeled. We had the original margaritas which were tasty, not too strong. We ordered a variety of tacos and a shrimp dish which were all flavorful and made with care. But the highlight of the visit was the trash can nachos! Literally a bit of everything piled high with a presentation you don't want to miss. Now probably the best place to get a bite in Van Buren. Let's see the atmosphere was ok. I'll be honest I was too busy enjoying the food to care about anything else. It was surprisingly good for a Mexican place in a small town like that. Excellent service they even open the door for you to walk in. Unless you're already in Van Buren on the river or something it could be a bit out of the way. And as far as the price goes it was about as much as you'd expect to spend at a Mexican place. read more
