This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The interior is somewhat worn down. I ordered a beef chimichanga, which I understand are typically deep-fried burritos. However, mine wasn't deep-fried at all. Despite that, it was still tasty, as were the beans and rice that came with it. My friend had the beef nachos, which were also good. I did feel a bit rushed by our server, and our drinks were never offered a refill, which influenced our tip. Overall, there was nothing significant that would prevent us from returning. read more

The staff are rude, and messed up my order five times . I called to specify an order, nothing was in my order that I ordered. There's this strange sauce in the fajitas, and taco's. The server took good care of us and then at the end he came over and told my coworkers and I that someone had already paid our tab. That was a delightful surprise, especially these days. I like the O Fallon, MO location better. This place seems run down. My meal, what i paid for was not so enjoyful. The steak nachos were limp. The steak was Taco Bell quality. Not once was i asked for a refill on the salsa. My view i noticed a crusty Tabasco container with no lid. Thats all i could stare at. The only somewhat good thing is they had a monster maragertia. This place was pretty good. I stopped here about an hour before closing time after summiting Missouri 's mighty Taum Sauk Mountain. The restaurant still had maybe 10 tables full which was a good sign in my opinion. Went straight to beer - selection was OK- a little limited. Didn't care- I was thirsty. I had the Carne Asada tacos. Presentation was weak- the tortillas and meat are reheated in s foil bag. Pico de gallo and sauce come in a little plastic cup. Make your own I guess.... Flavor was Ok- you could tell the meat had been pre-marinated. Rice and beans on the side. Service was spotty. Trying to accomplish close duties at the same time. First the good: very clean restaurant, friendly servers, very good menu, prompt service. 4 stars. Now the not so good: ordered ice tea it was very weak. Think light brown water. Our basket of tortilla chips was about half crumbled chips. I ordered a rellano and tamale. The tamale was good but the rellano was half cooked. The top half had the melted cheese but after that the cheese was not melted and the rellano was barely warm. Not sure what happened in the cocina. 2 stars. Tuesday 17 November 2020. We usually enjoy this restaurant however tonight was something special. Our waitress spilt hot sauce in the middle of our table. The chips tasted burnt. Overall not a bad experience. It did appear the waitress was working alone, as she had several tables to tend to. She was quick on her feet however. The food was alright. Although, on the menu it states under the item what is in the item your ordering, so.e of those are not accurate. As the order I had did not state it had onions, chopped peppers and potatoes and when the order was brought, it had all of these. Now, that is not a problem for me. However, if you have someone who is allergic to onions, peppers or even potatoes and the menu does not let the customer know that the item comes with it or is cooked in it, you are setting that customer up to have an allergic reaction. I would probably come back again, the foods not all bad, the prices are ok, although there did appear to be a manager standing around on his phone more than helping. read more

I came here for the first time on a saturday evening and it was not busy AT ALL and the food took almost an hour to get to the table. When i tried my burrito it was super dry and the flavor was super dull and flat. The rice that came with it felt like it just came out of the microwave after being frozen for 2 and a half business days. The best mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at, period. My #1 choice for eating out in Poplar Bluff, or anywhere within driving distance of Poplar Bluff for that matter. Why? For starters, I have never once had any kind of bad experience in this restaurant. I've never had a long wait for my food, a messed up order, rude or inattentive waitstaff, or any other kind of problem that could pop up in any restaurant if you frequent it enough. I've gotten carry out or dined in here in parties of 2-6 for the past 10 years, possibly nearly 100 times by now or more, and I've never been disappointed or felt my experience was less than 5 stars. Literally the only negative thing I could ever say about this place is that sometimes it takes them forever to answer their phone when I want carry out. Pleasing someone like me so consistently for such a long time is no small feat. I'm an impatient person and a picky eater. I never just order what is on the menu, there are always deletions or substitutions. I want nachos with nothing on them but ground beef and cheese? That's what i get every time I ask for it. I want steak and cheese this time? I don't think that's even an option but the waiter doesn't even blink, and I get exactly what I asked for. I get it hot and fresh, and in copious amounts. You don't wait very long at all for the food even when it is busy, and serving sizes here are enough to satisfy anyone and then some. Finally the food is delicious. I wish I could reproduce their cheese dip in my own home. The salsa is always great. While the spiciness of these two items does vary from time to time, the quality does not. The tortilla chips, the tortillas, the meats, the cheeses, everything down to the ice cream in the fried ice cream is great. The margaritas are always well made and the coffee is always good. This is the only restaurant and one of few businesses I have frequented in my life that has ever delivered such consistent quality and satisfaction. It was chopped up battered and fried fish inside a tortilla laying on my plate,. Had the usual pile of shredded lettuce and slice of tomato on the side, so again I was not really looking forward to it... looks like every sort of bland greasy fried fish taco I've had all around the country. Until I tried it. So light, so light and flaky for a fried fish taco. It comes with a cold sauce of some sort... It is escapes me right now, but it's some sort of cold spicy chipotle sour cream sauce that would have been better if it had been warmed up a little bit. Regardless, the fish tacos were stellar. I highly recommend them. Another thing they could do would be to maybe provide a little bit more salsa. One little bowl per table is not enough. I'm not normally a big salsa eater, but this salsa was much better than other places I have tried. The only suggestion that I have for this restaurant is for the host or server or waiter (the younger man with the floppy haircut): please do not scratch yourself or cough bare handed when you're coming out of the swinging doors from the kitchen. That makes people think that there is coughing and nut grabbing while their dinner is being prepared. Just an FYI. read more

Walking into the establishment it certainly wasn't very clean and didn't smell the best...I overlooked it and had a seat knowing better... The food was too overpriced for the poor quality... I ordered a burrito and it was filled with nothing but meat and the taco was over stuffed with lettuce... Rather disappointing for 10.00... I won't be returning to this place... This is the best restaurant in the Poplar Bluff area, and the best Mexican food I have ever had, from anywhere in the United States. The waitstaff is always on top of things, the food is always hot, fresh and made to order. Want something not on the menu? No problems. Just ask. They are there to please. Can't decide on what to order between two items? No problem. They can give you a half size of each for the price of one full entrée. This place is just wonderful. If you ever catch the owners they are always super polite. The manager is wonderful and always makes sure everything is perfect. read more
