My mom had heard from a friend rave reviews about their menudo so we finally decided to go. We went on a Thursday. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The broth was cloudy and milky? Not clear and red as you see in traditional menudo. It was also extremely salty - and I love salt. I mentioned it to the server and she said they had a different person who made it on weekends and it was much better then. Why would they be okay serving mediocre menudo during the week? I don't know. Service was also super slow and there was constant traffic of people flowing down the middle of the restaurant heading towards some room in the back. Maybe a bar? Went for a pickup today and had to wait 40 mins for the order to be complete. They first told me oh we just put in the food it'll be a bit. 25 mins they said 15 mins more. I asked so it usually takes over 30 mins for an order. They said oh no but we only have 1 cook. But other people orders had to be coming out. Waiting for so long I thought I was on kitchen nightmares with the cook inside freaking out trying to do multiple dishes at once. I wasn't going to be surprised if Gordon Ramsey walked in and questioned why it's taking so long for anyone to get their food. Terrible service all around Including one of the waitresses that lied about the timing and overall factor that it didn't matter if I waited 40 mins for mediocre food because it's not affecting her. I was not offered anything for the such long wait. Definitely avoid for the reasoning of you have to plan when you're going to be hungry, for mediocre food, and for horrible service. read more

We stopped by on our way back from the Salton Sea trip and I was craving fish tacos! Frozen fish that was still cold and tortillas that fell apart and no seasoning at all. Service was great, our waitress was very attentive and super friendly. Food was okay, the chile verde was really good, carne asada fries were also good, the pollo asada was not good (it was over cooked, dry, had no taste to it, rice in all plates also tasted like it was microwaved). The flour tortillas were good. Aguas frescas were okay. In a nut shell, the service from wait staff is excellent, had a good family atmosphere, has its own secluded bar area, I think they should install more the for those with families who want to watch games, but they need to work a little on some of their food items. Don't be put off by appearances. From the outside this restaurant looks neglected or even abandoned, but inside you can count on very friendly service and good down-home Mexican fare. I had the Caldo de Pollo, which was excellent but get a small order unless you are very hungry, since it comes with rice, beans and a huge stack of fresh tortillas. Honestly, the best Mexican food that I've ever had. I'm not Mexican, so I don't have a grandma, aunt or mom that cooks this shit for dinner or get to eat it on holidays or family parties. So if that's what you want to compare a restaurant too, skip my review and move onto another because I can't compare it to any of that. Beef Chimichanga is awesome, super crispy and the meat was ridiculously moist and flavorful. The lengua (beef tongue) was soft and full of flavor. I would skip the mole... it wasn't anything special to me. Love ordering Chebelas here... great flavor best if you drink it with dos equis. House salsa is a hit or miss, sometimes its good other times it taste like it was just from a jar with no spice. They do have a hotter salsa, that you could request for. Overall always good service, doesn't matter if you sit in the bar area or on the restaurant side. read more

This place looks a little sports bar-y, but fear not, the bar part is in another room separate from the actual restaurant. We came in the evening for dinner and were seated right away. The food is homestyle, not too salty, and very homey and comforting. The salsas, oh man, you can taste that they are homemade and you can taste the love in the food. It's not frilly or fancy, but authentic and satisfying. We ordered a combo with the chile relleno and cheese enchilada. The chile was a smaller chile, definitely not a poblano, and so it wasn't overly stuffed with cheese. You get the perfect chile ratio to cheese in every bite. The enchilada wasn't special, but it also wasn't heavy, greasy, or overly cheesy either. The beans and rice were seasoned well and not heavy. Their cadillac margarita is absolutely glorious, but I don't recommend having more than one if you want to make it back to your hotel in one piece. Very good. We had lunch there, a combo plate for two which was more than enough. When we arrived the first thing we noticed was that the parking lot was very busy, a good sign. Although the place was busy we were seated promptly and served promptly. The staff were friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for? This place exceeded my expectations! I work for an out of town construction company, and was only going to be on-site long enough to put on an appreciation lunch for our crew. I did a little researching and eventually stumbled upon this restaurant. I began speaking with Abraham, and he was more than happy to help me coordinate this. He gave amazing food recommendations, had great pricing, and was even willing to add food the day of the event. He also recommended where to get our tables/chairs and tents, which worked out great. It's hard when you aren't able to be in the same city and plan a mid-size event like this. Now, onto the food! It was amazing, they provided chips, salsa, guacamole, beef fajitas, chicken fajitas, tacos, rice, beans, and shrimp ceviche. Everyone raved about it, and they even had the crew asking where they were located. It really was great and was super happy with how it all turned out. We did have some left-overs, but it worked out perfect for us 'out of towners' that are staying in a hotel for the night! read more
