We had Larry King Orchestra play at our wedding and we were BLOWN away! From start to finish, our guests were amazed and the dance floor was packed. We interviewed 10 different bands, and we can confidently say that Larry King Orchestra is the most musically-talented, professional, and unique band that we've encountered. We have been to several weddings with bands in the past, and we've never seen guests react the way they did to LKO. The band's song library is massive and they play everything from Dave Matthews to Michael Jackson to Lady Gaga. One highlight of our wedding night was when the band played "Black Betty". It was an outstanding performance - one of many that made our guests' mouths drop open as everyone belted out the lyrics and danced like crazy. LKO truly understands and appreciates music and they tuned into our preferences to make a set list based around our tastes. They also made recommendations of songs we hadn't considered based on their experience and how we described our guests. I had people coming up to me and asking "how did you get this band?" and telling us that they felt like they were at a concert. At the end of the night, our guests yelled "ONE MORE SONG!" and the band performed an incredible encore. LKO is a true rock band that will eliminate any sense of an elegant wedding feeling too "stuffy". They appeal to all audiences and age groups. Although choosing a band is much more expensive than a DJ, the result is well worth the extra cost. My advice is to meet with Mike and Larry in person at their studio, and to book them early. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Larry King and his band. We hired them for a wedding reception and they were the best part. Not only did they play amazing music but having Larry as the evening's MC took all the pressure off of my husband and me. Every single one of our guests, even one who told me he hasn't danced in 5 years was on their feet for most of the evening. Larry helped us incorporate the songs we wanted into a great setlist, and orchestrated the first dance and speeches so the whole evening would flow seamlessly from event to event. This shouldn't be only the fourth review! LKO played at our wedding reception in June 2012 and absolutely killed. My wife and I have been to dozens of weddings in the last five years and there have never been more people on the dance floor than at our wedding. We are now spoiled. I listened to more than 50 bands that advertise themselves as great wedding bands in and around Chicago, and the only band even close is Rendezvous (they are also very, very good). We worked with Larry King and Mike Weber to put together a playlist that was uniquely ours and it was clear during this process that they just love music and love putting on a show for your event. They bring a lot of energy and seem like they're having as much fun playing the music as we're having listening / dancing to it. Every conversation about our wedding over the last six months has involved a discussion about LKO and how great they were. Almost forgot to mention their playlist is extensive and changes much more often than the list on their website. LKO also learned a couple of songs at our request, which they played perfectly. read more

Wow is this really the first review? These guys are awesome. They play all sorts of music from your typical wedding songs to some more recent rock and hiphop even. And they sound very good. I saw them over the weekend at a wedding reception and I was very impressed. I think they could use more harmony vocals, but everything else was great. They have brass, rhythm, synth, vocals, the works. I dunno if you get to choose a setlist or if they come with them, but I'm sure they will improvise where necessary to appease the crowd. Very awesome band! Great Musicians and they made things a lot of fun. I am looking for a wedding band and had the opportunity to hear them play at a recent event. They were amazing with just a few small issues: Lost one star for two reasons: - the whole night the music was WAY to loud. I mean crazy, uncomfortable loud. This level of volume should be reserved for emergency alert systems. And because of the volume the vocals were less than amazing because they were screamed over the music. For a majority of the songs the lyrics were unintelligible due to the volume of both the music and the attempts to sing over it. In addition to taking away from the music itself, this meant you had to literally scream to have a conversation and you still couldn't hear people. It's just a bummer the talent couldn't shine more over the volume because all of the musicians were unbelievably talented! (However the DJ songs between sets were played at a perfect volume.) - the tempo of of most songs was sped up and it was hard to enjoy because familiar songs seemed a little off due to this change These are little things that could easily be tailored to make this a five star experience and I was, honestly, very impressed overall. Larry King Orchestra MC'ed and performed at our wedding. They are absolutely exceptional. I am of a music background and am picky when it comes to live music. Larry King and his band, along with his production crew nailed it! People are still talking to us about how amazing the band at our wedding was. Larry King is incredibly easy to work with. His production lead, Mike, is great and helps tremendously with the planning process. Larry himself is quite the character and has the high energy needed to take your event to a whole new level. He is loud and wild, but knows how to be reserved as well. We had a Russian wedding which is slightly different than the standard American dinner and dance wedding format. Larry King and company were able to figure out the scheduling for food and music to accommodate our desires for the wedding schedule exactly as we wanted it. They also provided music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, as well as a jazz band to play the first hour of the reception during dinner and toasts. They ended the night by playing into our DJ meaning there was no gap in the dancing. As goes it with any wedding, we had a few moments where we had to improvise (unexpected guest giving a toast, A/V guy played video too soon) but Larry King expertly improvised around those situations and no one knew that anything was out of place. My wife and I pictured our wedding to be a dance-fest which is what Larry King gave us. Highly recommended!!! How do I begin to count the amount of compliments and praise we received after our daughter's September 2015 wedding. I knew the instant I spoke with Larry he was the wright person to provide the musical entertainment. He blended in the old with the new and everything in between.
