David Rothstein Music - Jazz band at the cocktail hour

David Rothstein Music

(83 reviews)

DRS Music Was Hands Down the BEST Decision We Made for Our Wedding!…read more From the moment we met David Rothstein in person at The Drake Oak Brook, we knew he was the one we wanted to bring our wedding to life! His professionalism, charisma, and attention to detail immediately stood out, and we knew we wanted him as our emcee. Looking back, choosing DRS Music was truly one of the BEST decisions we made for our entire wedding! Every part of the day was beautifully coordinated and seamlessly executed. The piano and violin duet during our ceremony was absolutely magical, playing gorgeous Bridgerton-inspired music that created the most romantic and elegant atmosphere. The jazz trio during cocktail hour was equally wonderful, setting the perfect tone for the evening. But what REALLY blew everyone away was DRS's incredible stage presence during dinner and the reception. I cannot emphasize enough how phenomenal this band was! Nearly every single guest told us they had NEVER been to a wedding with a live band THIS GOOD. From little kids to grandparents, EVERYONE was on the dance floor! The energy was absolutely contagious, and the musicians knew exactly how to read the room, engage the crowd, and keep the celebration going all night long. What made DRS even more special was how interactive their performances were. During dinner, the strolling violinist visited individual tables, personally entertaining our guests. It brought an entirely new level of sophistication. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced at another wedding! Their live performance for our father-daughter dance was also incredibly beautiful and emotional, creating a moment I will treasure forever. One of my absolute favorite personal touches was the hilarious, customized poster David created for us as a couple! It was so clever, funny, and uniquely us. It brought such a fun, personal element to our celebration and was yet another example of how David goes above and beyond to make every wedding special. I loved it so much that I'm keeping that poster for the rest of my life! It's such a wonderful keepsake from one of the happiest days of our lives. And David himself was PHENOMENAL. Between emceeing, DJing, coordinating transitions, and keeping the entire evening flowing effortlessly, he made everything feel so natural and seamless. Weddings can be emotional and stressful, and I remember feeling overwhelmed at certain points in the day. But once DRS took over the reception, all of that melted away. They completely transformed the atmosphere into the most joyful, energetic, unforgettable celebration. I have so many videos from our wedding that I find myself watching over and over again, not just to relive our special day, but because seeing our friends and family laughing, singing, dancing, and having the time of their lives brings me so much happiness. Those memories are absolutely priceless. I genuinely cannot imagine our wedding without DRS Music. If you're debating between a DJ and a live band, or considering other entertainment options, PLEASE choose DRS! They are in a league of their own. The talent, elegance, energy, professionalism, and sheer joy they brought to our wedding exceeded every expectation. Thank you, David and the entire DRS team, for giving us the wedding celebration of our dreams. Our guests are STILL talking about your performance, and I know they will remember it for years to come. You didn't just perform at our wedding--you made it unforgettable!

My nephew hired DRS for his wedding 3 years ago and they were fabulous then! We interviewed a few…read morebands because our daughter's wedding was in Milwaukee, not Chicago, the home of DRS and our nephew's wedding. David's enthusiasm, professional experience and commitment to make the night "epic" closed the sale. David told us about East Coast Style dancing and he was so right that there's nothing better! After our daughter and her husband were introduced (on the balcony at the Grain Exchange, MKE), arrived on the dance floor to cut the cake and have their first dance, the FOB and MOG danced and then the floor was opened to ALL dancers immediately! That dance floor rocked the entire night! I hardly noticed when the band disappeared to eat dinner or take breaks. The DJ took over and play was seamless, which meant dancing was constant. The band's talent is tremendous from the singers to each and every instrumentalist in the band. David leads the wedding couple and guests through the entire night with the toasts, etc. He brought a special gift for the newly married, specific to them, and took photos and videos throughout the night. Every once in a while, David brought out the bubbles! So much fun! I heard from many of our guests, including our priest, who said it was the best wedding he's ever been to.....and he's been to a lot of weddings! I have received so many texts and messages telling me how much they loved the band, loved dancing and a most memorable night. David lived up to the promise that it would be an epic night. Epic, spectacular and sensational are the words the come to my mind and every time I think back on last weekend, 10-24.26, I smile from ear to ear! Thanks David and DRS. You WILL be very happy if you hired DRS Music. Margaret, MOB

Jamie, the…read moreowner, found a wonderful group of boys the same age to create a rock band with a singer, guitar, bass guitar and drums players. Playing in front of people has given them so much confidence and it's been so fun watching them improve with each performance. They have played to large crowds at Tailgaters in Bolingbrook, Ballydoyle's in Downers Grove, and Grove Fest in Downers Grove. Charlie, their band director, has done a terrific job helping them to perform as a group and helping with stage presence.

At the urging of my teacher, I enrolled in Garage Band U to help advance my skills. I was rather nervous going into it....Being on stage playing guitar is (well, now a "was") bucket list item for me. I've always wanted to do it, but didn't think I'd ever be able to. James helped to pull together a great group of people to play together. His practice area is great, his direction was spot-on, he helped us pick songs that would work well and then provided input on how to best play them. All this culminated in a set at a local bar which incidentally went great! It feels great to be able to check this one off my list, but all it's done is made me anxious to sign up again. I can't do it next semester, as I need to be home a bit more, but I will definitely be back in the fall. What might be most amazing about James' program - the wide range of ages that participate. I'm guessing that there were people ranging from approx. 9 to 55 in the program, and they all sounded great. Thank you, James, for a great experience, and I look forward to working with you again! I'll be seeing you soon.

Our repertoire was most classical waltzes and Puccini scores, mixed with some Mancini. Symphony Sounds pulled it all off, much to the delight of some more serious classical buffs in our audience. It was a true pleasure to work with Sarah. She even recorded my bridal march, Un Bel Di, during practice and sent it to me so I could get a sense of timing. All our communications were long distance, yet the music and ceremony were executed beautifully. I only wish I could have heard all of the pre and post music myself. My guests continue to rave about the music and how lovely it sounded.

Thus, there was never any consideration for giving a bad review. The question was whether to give the "perfect" score. Sometimes bad things occur beyond someone's control. They did the best they could do under the circumstances, including the owner offering more than I could conscientiously accept. They performed spectacularly, despite the owner probably believing she would be paid nothing for her performance and hard work. None of the audience ever even knew there was a problem. In mulling it over, that ability to actually turn lemons into lemonade shows more professionalism than simply doing so under the best conditions. The best parts were the quality of the performers, their choice of music, and the cheerfulness of the performance. Every one of our guests were throughly entranced by the music! I therefore enthusiastically recommend Symphony Sounds for your wedding or other event.
