I had a bunch of friends and family comment on how fantastic it was having live music at our wedding! We attended a wedding a year ago and fell in love with the live band at the cocktail hour! We met David and we knew we'd be working with him once it was our time. We had people on the dancefloor the entire night and I didn't even have a chance to eat dessert! read more

A Great Wedding Band Wedding Date 2.1.25 As Father of the Bride, I thought that DSR Music was the best and that the music helps make the wedding reception a great and memorable one. The band members and vocalists are so talented and energetic in all genres of music making each song fun to dance to. The dance floor was packed all night and we received complements for weeks about the quality of the band and how much fun the wedding was. David Rothstein does a great job as the MC for the night but the benefits of using DSR start long before the wedding day. David takes the time to get to know the wedding couple and their family, understand what is important to them at the wedding, learn the type of music they are interested in hearing and provides special touches for the bride and groom. I think so highly of DSR Music that I used them for my oldest daughter's wedding in 2016 and my niece used them as well. read more

David is the absolute best and the band he brings is out of this world! David played our wedding and was so easy to plan with in the lead up. The song list his band can play is extensive and they were very accommodating of additional song requests. On the day of, David was a great MC and we received endless compliments on the band/dance floor. All thanks to David and his band professionals!! For anyone considering David, he has our strongest endorsement! read more

David put so much attention to detail and care into our wedding, everything from the band, song selection, MC work, and communication was top notch! Everything went so smoothly because David is incredibly attentive and sincere. If there was ever a problem, we never noticed - he really does put 100% of his time and effort into each client. Not to mention the music itself, which exceeded our expectations. The singers and musicians were so talented and engaging, in key moments our wedding party stopped dancing mid song to admire sudden guitar solos or sustained vocal notes. Whatever I heard through their videos was only a fraction of how great they sound in person. 10/10 band, I don't say that lightly. David and his team were some of the most talked about people our wedding. They even learned to play our custom song requests! DRS Music is a one of a kind talent that puts the rest of the industry to shame. David even made sure he nailed the pronunciation of our family member names, knew exactly when to roll out our cake, music, and speeches. He even came up with a unique wedding gift that was tied to the beginnings of our relationship - a pair of ice skates for everyone to sign! It was perfect. read more

If you're looking for the perfect music for your wedding, look no further than David Rothstein Music. David provided us with cocktail hour music, a DJ, and a 7 piece band to cover all parts of our reception and did so at a very reasonable price. The music was fantastic. The live music and dancing portion was covered by The Avalon Orchestra, led by Kim Frost, who sang, and was our emcee. Everything they did was perfect and our guests are still raving about it. Every single song was on-point and they had no issues with any of our last minute adjustments. David, knowing I, the groom, was a musician and a Bears fan, gifted a bass drum head with a Chicago Bears logo, to be signed by the guests with heartfelt messages to my wonderful wife and I. He even had enough confidence in me as musician to have me up for a song, which later turned into three! So, if you want the best wedding entertainment and live musicians Chicago has to offer, call David Rothstein. You WON'T be disappointed. read more

My wife & I had David & his band play our wedding in August. We didn't have a planner so we were juggling several different tasks getting ready for the wedding. David made the planning both stress-free and enjoyable throughout, staying in close communication the whole time. The experience felt very personalized and tailor made to what we were looking for. They were willing to cater to the musical style we envisioned and to learn songs not already on their list. The band sounded incredible and kept the dance floor packed the entire night. They even welcomed my brother to go up on stage and sing a couple songs. We couldn't be happier with both David & the band and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding band in Chicago! read more

We LOVEEEEE David and his band!!! He was the best to work with and brought so much energy and enthusiasm to the planning process and the reception. We had the 13 piece band and everyone was amazing and talented. David and each band member was great at interacting with the crowd at the reception and reading the energy of the room. David was great with communication. David also ensured that the timeline was followed which I very much appreciate. read more

My husband and I got married 4/12/25 at the Hilton. We were both very busy during the planning process, have been to a million weddings together, and are very passionate about our favorite musical artists and albums. David was recommended to us by our planner, and we immediately hit it off with him. He is so kind, deeply invested in his couples and their events, and takes great pride in his work and his company. He shared footage from other weddings, promised to learn any and all songs we sent them, and guaranteed a packed dance floor all night. He was thoughtful in getting to know us and our families, practiced pronouncing everyone's names to perfection, and donated all our flowers to a nursing home the next day. So many of our guests came up to us throughout the night and told us they loved our band and our music selection. We had a piano player and a violin playing the music we hand picked for the ceremony, and a jazz trio to elevate the ambiance during cocktail hour. We are so glad we went with DRS for the wedding, his team is worth every penny and really moves a wedding from being a good time to absolutely epic! We love you David, thank you! read more

I had DRS Music in mind for live music at our wedding even before we picked the venue! I did my fair share of research on various live bands/musicians early on during our engagement, and when the time finally came to choose, I knew we HAD to work with DRS Music--what sold me initially was a combination of the transparency on their website, the consistent 5-star reviews I read across several sites, and the raw video footage of the talented musicians in action. I knew we made the right decision as soon as we got in touch with David. When I first submitted my inquiry for availability of the jazz trio for our wedding reception dinner, David responded probably within a day--the fastest of all the vendors I previously reached out to! Instead of an email in response, he called me directly, which is something I greatly appreciated, especially when a lot of wedding planning can feel like a waiting game. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find live music for our wedding given that it was a very small and intimate affair. David reassured me that he's all about celebrating US and what we want out of our wedding. Whether your wedding is "big" or "small," David will work with you to find the best option for your special day. From our initial call, to getting him in touch with our venue event coordinator, David was nothing but responsive and supportive throughout the entire process. Closer to our wedding date, he sent over a questionnaire that asked my husband and I to share the details of our love story and the music we wanted played at our reception. David noted that we love the show, "Lost," and he had a special poster with our photo on it created just for us and for all our guests to sign. Throughout the night, the jazz trio played BEAUTIFULLY all the songs/genres we requested, and David was available to communicate with throughout the evening and served as our MC. We received compliments from our family all night and even after our wedding about David and the jazz trio. At our request, the trio learned our first dance, mother/son, and father/daughter dances; they played the most beautiful renditions of our favorite classics, really setting the mood for a special night. My dad, who loves live music, was in tears before he even made it to the dance floor when he heard the trio play "What a Wonderful World" for our father/daughter dance. On top of an unforgettable night, David offered to take our floral arrangements to a nursing home, where he dropped them off the following morning for another person to enjoy :) I cannot recommend DRS Music enough! The 5-star reviews about DRS Music speak for themselves, offering genuine praise for the musicians' unmatched professionalism and incredible talent. David, in particular, shines not only as a captivating MC but also as a pleasure to collaborate with, ensuring every event is seamless and unforgettable. Thank you David, Adrian (piano), Nate (saxophone), and Joshua (double bass) for sharing your talents with us and our family on a night we won't soon forget! read more

THE BEST BAND EVER! Where do we even begin- from the communication, the surprise gift, and the most amazing music-- David Rothstein Band was absolute perfection. David was a pleasure to work with and was always so quick to answer all our calls/texts/emails. He was so accommodating to any special songs and traditions we wanted to have as well. The band was absolutely incredible as well as the supporting DJ/Sax player for our late night party. The ten piece band was the best band we've ever heard! Not only did we (the bride and groom) love every single second of our reception music- but our guests could not stop raving as well. We even got to go up on stage and sing a rendition of Bon Jovi- Livin on a Prayer. A night we will never forget. Thank you David Rosthein!!! For anyone booking a band- do not look further- this is your best choice!!!! read more

When we were first looking for a band for our wedding, we knew immediately that we wanted David Rothstein. Ultimately, we decided to go with a different band (Connexion) because they cost half as much. When Connexion breached the contract and told us we should cancel just twelve days before the wedding, we turned to David and he helped us out. From the day we hired him to the day they played, David was nothing but professional, efficient, and helpful. He made everything we wanted happen, including learning our first dance song (I repeat) TWELVE DAYS before the wedding. They took time to get to know us as a couple and we had no fear going i to the wedding day. At my wedding, we got countless compliments on the band. Everyone said they had no idea wedding bands *could* be this good, including one of my very picky musician friends. Their choice of music was spot-on, even starting a conga line that got everyone including my 80-year-old great aunt up and dancing. And I hate conga lines! But I had to confess, that was one of the highlights of the evening in the end. David warned us when we didn't hire him the first time that we would come to regret it. I do think that the reasons why we came to regret it were unforeseeable and still totally unbelievable, and I also still think the cost is too much. But ultimately, when we were backed into a corner and felt like we were out of options, David surpassed even our very high expectations. Everyone is going to remember the dancing at our wedding-- even though the venue (the Field Museum) is not at all acoustic-friendly. I firmly believe that no Chicago band has a better sound. Thank you David! read more

Excellent musicians, excellent owner and amazing experience! Highly recommended when hiring a Chicago wedding band!

We are so happy to have worked with David for our August 2017 wedding! We first chose to contact David because of the stellar reviews on Yelp, The Knot, etc. When we contacted several bands to discuss our wedding night, David was by far the most responsive and organized we spoke with. After booking DRM for our wedding, David continued to be proactive and organized. He made sure that we got him all the information he needed (songs we wanted, first dance songs, etc.) well ahead of time. He was especially patient with any last minute changes we had to make. On the actual wedding night, DRM was fantastic. The music was great and the guests were dancing all night long. These guys know how to rock a party! David was a wonderful MC the whole evening. After our wedding, people have continued to tell us how much fun they had dancing the night away. To top it off, David presented us with a gift that we absolutely LOVE!He had a football helmet from our alma mater with a pen ready for all our guests to sign; we were so happy to have this amazing keepsake from our wedding night! Thanks David and DRM! read more

From our first conversation I knew that David Rothstein and his talented team were the perfect fit to help us create an incredible party. We chose the The State Street package which included the jazz trio for cocktail hour, followed by the jazz trio plus DJ for dinner, and the DJ drums and sax for the post dinner dancing. And let me tell you we are still receiving compliments about the set! I can't thank David Rothstein and his team enough for making this night absolutely magical. David truly goes above and beyond to get to know the bride and groom. He gifted us a lovely customized Bears bowling ball that symbolizes two activities we enjoy doing together. Not only did David handle the music flawlessly, he also offered other advice to help us navigate our day. My favorite tip from David was that as long as the bride and groom are on the dance floor, the rest of the party will follow. Which could not have been more true the band and us dancing had the floor packed all night. read more

David Rothstein and his band were incredible! We did the violin and guitar duo for our ceremony, the jazz quartet for our cocktail hour, and the 10-piece band for the reception. From the beginning, David was actively involved and responsive in helping get ready for the big day. He and his team were willing to learn any number of songs for our wedding. We really appreciated that they took the time to learn some of our favorite songs, which made for a special evening. They also had an unbelievably long list of songs they already know and regularly play, which allowed us to pick out some of our favorites to give them a sense of what we liked. David did an excellent job MCing and kept all our guests excited and engaged. The band did an awesome job of keeping our dance floor packed all night long, which was exactly what we wanted! They played off the crowd and provided a fun mix of popular and classic songs, including slow songs and party hits that keep you dancing. David and the band even got us a very sweet and personal wedding gift based on our favorite sports team and our dog. Throughout the evening and afterwards, we heard from so many of our guests about how great the band was! They really made it a night to remember and we are so grateful! read more

David Rothstein Music is simply amazing. From our very first conversation, we immediately noticed how detail-oriented, organized and professional David and his team were. David is a wonderful communicator- incredibly prompt and responsive, which was so appreciated during the wedding planning process. David would always answer our emails or texts within minutes/hours- never ignored a question, comment or message. He was always open to having a phone conversation with us, even if was about the simplest of things. As a couple communicating with multiple vendors, David was one of the best, if not the best vendor we had the pleasure of working with. My now husband and I never felt like we were just "another couple planning a wedding" when interacting with David. He made our wedding feel personal from the moment we started working together. We had a LOT of different ideas for how we could incorporate some family traditions and fun/unique ideas into our day and David was ALL about it. He thrives on making weddings feel very personal/customized and not "just another wedding." He worked with us to help make our vision of having a family member join the band and perform a few Elvis songs, played "walk up" songs for our maid of honor and best man as they were announced for their speeches, played the exact songs we requested as our guests entered the reception, and worked with us to make our vision of a "moonlight dance" with just us two (as our guests were exiting) a reality. One of the most impressive parts about David's service was something we didn't know about until the wedding was over- David actually worked very closely with my mom and dad to coordinate music and other details for my dad's father of the bride speech. My dad had a song written for us and planned out a little skit. David had multiple posters made with the lyrics and photos of our family on it, and coordinated all the details with my parents to ensure everything worked out perfectly for my dad's speech. It was perfect. In addition to all of the behind the scenes planning, the band itself was truly impeccable- so interactive with our wedding guests, incredibly talented and entertaining. We still get compliments about our wedding band months and months later. Lastly, David himself was very active throughout the reception. This is something very unique to DRM- David isn't on stage performing with the band, he is the emcee and facilitator throughout the night. Again, without knowing it in the moment, David took photos and videos of the band, and us/our guests dancing, and sent these to us the next day. We didn't have our photographer/videographer stay for much of the dancing part of the reception, so the photos and videos that David took are some of the only footage we have from those hours of the night, which we will cherish forever. All in all, choosing David and his team for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding day. Thank you David and team, so much, for helping us celebrate the best day of our lives! read more

We heard the band at a friend's wedding a few years ago and loved them, so we hired them for our wedding this July. Simply put, they were incredible. They are not only an awesome band, but they are so professional and accommodating. David is the consummate pro - he went above and beyond for us, meeting with us multiple times before the wedding and listening to our suggestions in terms of playlist. In our opinion, the band is one of, if not the most important parts of a great wedding. We've gotten so many compliments about the band - our dance floor was packed the entire night. They brought great energy that really made our wedding unforgettable. We could not have asked for a better experience. We would recommend them to anyone looking to have a fun, unforgettable wedding. read more

I love live music and knew I wanted a band versus DJ for my wedding. I was recommended DRM and am so happy with how the night went. David scheduled a phone call with me to go over the different options we had for our wedding. We went with a package that had a classical duo during our ceremony, jazz trio during cocktail hour, and a 10 piece orchestra during the reception with David as the emcee and a DJ too. During the planning process, David had a ton of availability to meet with us and answer any questions I had. His band was able to learn new songs for our wedding and he had tons of suggestions for how our night could run smoothly. The ceremony director, Alex, was able to take all my notes and help my ceremony vision come to life. The musicians learned a song on the piano, and they were able to have my step sister sing the processional. The timing was perfect and it played out exactly how I pictured. The reception dance floor was packed all night long! The band played old songs, new songs, etc. The perfect combo to get everyone up and dancing. They even surprised my husband and I who are both teachers with a chalkboard for guests to sign, what a great memory! Professional pictures and videos take what feels like forever to come in, but David had taken lots of behind the scenes videos and uploaded them to a YouTube page the next morning. It has been so fun going back and reliving small parts of our special day! DRM played such a huge part in making our night memorable and so much fun, I highly recommend! read more

David's bands really made our big day special-- they provided the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and it was all so well done. The reception dance band was an especially huge hit. I don't want to toot my own horn or anything, but I haven't been to a wedding in a long time where as many people (of all ages) were out on the dance floor for the reception as were at ours. The band got rave reviews for the song choices and for keeping the party going. The only downside about the experience was that David is super busy and it was sometimes really tough to get in touch with him during the planning. I felt like a lot of the details were ironed out pretty last minute and I ended up inserting my day of coordinator into that relationship instead. He may just be understaffed and granted the whole thing went off beautifully, but I did feel a little left in the dark on some of the details until they were actually happening. read more

My parents and brother had David Rothstein perform at my brother's recent reception at the Glen Club. David and his band were amazing! The jazz music was wonderful and lended a relaxing, jovial air helping to dissipate some of the tension and stress that sometimes arises during weddings :). He played during cocktail hour and dinner with a smaller jazz band. Wiith his jovial, kind personality he was a great emcee as well making seemingly mundane announcements (ie. please turn your placecards over to assist the servers) much more interesting! It was also such a sweet touch that he bought a plate for all the guests to sign so much brother and my new sister-in-law can sweetly remeber the event (a detail that we missed). My mum mentioned he was great to work with and when the full band arrived for the dance with its lively singers we truly enjoyed the music so much so that my parents that never danced at my wedding six years ago (I had a classical string quartet) were out on the dance floor. Even though I'm five months pregnant, I couldn't resist heading out either (even though I dread dancing!) or my husband with our four year old daughter! My uncle who had flown in just for the reception from India for a short 24 hour visit truly had a blast. I'm so shocked that David hasn't been reviewed more here on Yelp with only two reviews present when I was doing research for my parents on Chicago based bands. My whole family highly recommends him since he truly creates an unforgettable experience for which we're truly grateful for. read more

We have been married a little over five months now and people are still talking about how awesome our band was at our wedding! David Rothstein, and every single one of his FABULOUS musicians, made our wedding so incredibly special and memorable! It was such a pleasure working with David during our planning process. He was always very prompt in his responses, whether it would be just answering a simple question, or setting up time to do a more extensive call on the phone. David is very knowledgeable about the entire company, and is a musician himself, so he really knows what makes for great music! We wish we could rate them with more than five stars! Everything fell into place beautifully on our wedding day and we wish we could see them at more events. As a client, we had access to their extensive playlist for the reception. What was really great also was that we were able to pick out the songs we wanted from the strings list for our ceremony. David really went above and beyond helping us customize our songs for our entire ceremony. He also was very flexible and accommodating when we told him about a few surprises we had planned for the reception! One thing we thought was exceptional was the fact that David worked so closely with our wedding planner, and helped with some of the details for the day. That really made everything flow smoothly and the day was perfect! The string quartet had to make a couple of adjustments for our ceremony, as far as the actual location itself, but everything worked out well and they sounded great! There was a jazz trio playing during the cocktail hour which was a very nice touch! The 11 piece band we had for the reception was probably one of our favorite wedding bands we have ever heard! The musicians were so incredibly talented and the dance floor was packed all night long! We had them playing as our guests were coming in from the cocktail hour, and people really enjoyed that. They played a lot of songs that people of all ages wanted to dance to all night long! Everything was ranging from Motown, to some classics, to some pop hits, and everything in between! Our guests are still, to this day, talking about how good our band was and how much fun they had that night! Some of our friends have said that they don't typically dance at weddings, but were dancing all night long at our wedding! We were so grateful to have this band play at our wedding! We keep talking about how we want to go back and do it again, just so we can have the band back! We highly recommend David Rothstein Music and would love to see them perform again! read more

We decided to work with David Rothstein Music after researching dozens of different bands and see 3 of them perform live at actual weddings. The mix of songs, the energy and the quality of the singers and musicians is second to none. David is extremely professional and he goes through every detail of your wedding and gets to know you as a couple. When we wanted to incorporate live Greek music. David found us the musicians and made sure that their set was incorporate smoothly within the evening's music. All along the way, as we had to make adjustments and changes, he was extremely helpful and made sure that we were happy above all else. The night of our wedding, every loved the music. Even my aunt who I've never seen dance in my whole life was out on the floor busting a move! All in all, you would be a fool to book anyone else. read more

Having the best music and getting all of the guests dancing was our number one priority for our wedding. So naturally, booking David Rothstein Music for our wedding (May 21, 2016) was the very first decision we made in our wedding planning process. That is how confident we were that they are the best band! We reached out to several other bands, but David added a personal touch that no other company had. He truly wants to get to know each couple, their story, interests, and music tastes. They really go above and beyond. David helped with coordinating the schedule for the reception, leaving no detail out. He walked us through the timing of every announcement, dance, toast, and music which really allowed us to get a feel for how night the would go. On our wedding day, the energy throughout the night was unlike anything we could have imagined - literally everyone on the dance floor! All of the musicians are extremely talented. For example, one of the vocalists who sang "Old Man" by Neil Young (for our father/daughter dance) actually sounded like Neil Young, then switched to a country song and sang "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts (for the mother/son dance) like a pro - we couldn't believe our ears! We also highly recommend the dancing between courses and adding their optional DJ to fill in the breaks and enhance the music. To this day all of our guests are still raving about the band. David's passion for was he does is unprecedented. With David Rothstein, your wedding is guaranteed to be the best dance party and the most memorable night! read more

We worked with David Rothstein and his wonderful team for our September 2021 wedding. Our original wedding was planned for April 2020 and full disclosure, we had actually hired a different band. When Covid cancelled us, our original band was no Longer available for our new date. We were thankfully referred David! Not sure why we didn't just start with him in the first place!! From the very beginning he was responsive, accommodating, and listened to all of our requests. His band learned new songs for us and they truly did an incredible job. Our guests are still raving about the band and everyone was dancing all night long. We had the 11 Piece band and it was worth it for every second! We were so lucky to have them at our wedding and will be recommending them To everyone looking to hire a great band! Thank you To David and his team for making the night so memorable. It wouldn't have been the same without them. read more

Updated** the music at our ceremony went off without a hitch and everyone from DRM did a wonderful job. A positive experience for sure. Upgraded to five stars. Although I initially had some miscommunication with the company when trying to book a ceremony trio, David has been wonderful in immediately rectifying the problem. So far, I have had a very pleasant experience working with David via phone, and am looking forward to having this company provide our ceremony music (they are accommodating for my aunt and cousin to sing, and providing arrangements for our more modern song choices as well). Though I'll have to update this review AFTER the wedding - the only reason I haven't given the 5 star yet! - at this point I can surely recommend David Rothstein Music to people planning their wedding. read more

We could not have been happier with the service that we received from David Rothstein Music. As anybody knows planning a wedding, music is a big part. We found out first hand that having the right music and entertainment can make the biggest difference for a wedding reception. Having David and his band at our wedding was easily one of the best decisions that we made. Our guests young and old constantly tell us how awesome our wedding was and how much they enjoyed the band and live music. We would highly recommend David Rothstein and his band. Most bride and grooms will tell you that their wedding was unforgettable; because of David and his group ALL of our guests will tell you that OUR wedding was unforgettable. The only non-five-star review on here mentioned communication as being an issue bc David was busy. If that was true it is no longer. In our experience communication was so on point that I've honestly used David as an example of what I'd like my staff to emulate from a customer service standpoint (in a total unrelated business and industry). If David Rothstein wrote a book on customer service, organization, and communication, I would buy it in a heartbeat--I would actually buy several copies for my staff. Kristin, my now wife, found David to be a HUGE source of comfort in the planning of our wedding. For us, the biggest stress was spending as much as we did on the music component of our reception -- it was the best decision we made easily. And what David told us from the beginning was true -- that we were buying into an experience and not just music. read more

As most couples do, my now-wife and I had a hard time deciding whether to get a DJ or a band. We did our research and found the David Rothstein Band website, where we quickly realized that we had to meet David to see what they could provide. At our initial meeting, David was professional and clearly knowledgeable about what it takes to have a successful wedding reception. So when it came down to it, we had to decide whether to go with a DJ or spend the extra money and go with David's band...it wouldn't be any other band. In the end, we knew that the music made the party, so we decided to go with David Rothstein Music. From the moment we hired them, we knew we had made the right choice. David was thorough and professional with his planning, helpful in assisting us find other vendors, and responsive to all of the many questions we had asked over the months leading up to the wedding. David and his band came along with us to western Michigan to play at our vineyard wedding this summer. From the beginning of the wedding day, the entire team was professional and clearly knowledgeable. Sound guys, band, DJ...everyone worked to make sure everything was ready, down to the last detail. David even helped coordinate with our planner to make sure our wedding party knew when to do what. The ceremony trio did a great job playing the Beatles songs we had asked for, which made for an absolutely perfect ceremony atmosphere. And then came the reception...WOW! These guys totally rocked out. Our dance floor was packed throughout the night while David picked out the perfect songs to keep everyone going. The band even learned an edited version of a Zac Brown Band song that we danced to for our first dance. David emceed the event, coordinated our entrances, and made sure everything ran smoothly the entire night. I would highly recommend the "dancing between courses" option for the reception. This allowed for everyone to get on the dance floor early and often, with nice eating breaks in between to take a rest before the next round of dancing. Hiring David and his band was everything we hoped for and more. Throughout the entire process, he was helpful in ensuring every part of our wedding went smoothly. From the beginning of the ceremony until the last dance, the band played the perfect music for us and our guests. Just as we had thought on day one, the music made the party, and it was well worth the additional cost to have David and his band play at our wedding. If you're still debating at this point...GO WITH THIS BAND! read more

We worked with David and his team to provide the ceremony music, along with cocktail hour and reception music, for our wedding in July 2022. From our very first interaction with David, we were impressed. It started with an immediate response at 8pm on a weeknight and progressed to multiple follow up emails and assurances from David himself. We never once had to follow up with David and, quite often, he was following up with us to ensure we were moving forward in putting together the perfect evening. The ceremony music was impeccable and garnered many a compliment from our guests. Cocktail hour was a hit with more modern songs, and then the reception was even better. With David as MC, the evening flowed seamlessly from introductions to speeches, and then onto the dancing. The musicians kept the dance floor full the entire evening, and even surprised us with two encores as a special treat. DRS Music is the perfect partner to work with on your wedding - we wholeheartedly recommend them! Thanks to David and the team for making our day so special - we truly appreciate it. read more

My husband and I got married on October 16, 2009, in Geneva, Illinois, and we are sooo glad we hired David to help us on our special day. He was the ultimate professional, maintaining regular contact with us during the months and weeks before the wedding, and helping us plan the ceremony and reception afterwards. After meeting twice, much of our planning was via e-mail - it helped us all keep track of our night and modify plans as needed. David would call me sometimes too just to see how things were going : ) People loved the four-string quartet during the ceremony and the three-piece jazz band during dinner. The seven-piece band was also exceptional. When my husband and I finally watched a video of our wedding, it was great to see that our friends and family enjoyed the music so much and danced the night away. You were all great to work with, and you helped make the night something we and our loved ones will always remember. THANK YOU : ) read more

David and his band did a great job at our wedding--it seemed like all of our guests were on the dance floor all night...which was our #1 priority! David also did an excellent job of grabbing everyone's attention during important speeches, dances, etc. He was definitely in control of the crowd (in a good way). I felt that the flow of our reception was perfect! There were a few oversights that were disappointing though...the mother-son dance was wrong (eek!) and we had a handful of songs played on our do not play list. I would suggest bringing your own ipod for the band intermission to control which songs are played during the band breaks. Overall, I would recommed the David Rothstein Band. My favorite part of the entire wedding day was during 'Shout' when the band came out to the dance floor.:) SO FUN! read more

I am hesitant about this one. I would like to give him all the stars, but something very unprofessional happened at our wedding. The music was fantastic, it was fun, things were very special, but I didn't know that David, unbeknownst to us, had hired a photographer of his own. He did not, as he told our photographer, sign off with us on it. We did not know that our hired photographers would have to bump heads with him to politely ask first the photographer, and then David to move out of the way so our photographers could get the images we hired them to. On top of this the band photographer had a setting on which made everything flash whenever a photo was taken, which put off the light meter so precisely measured by our crew. We never knew about this at the time, and so we had a wonderfully, magical evening in our ignorance. Now, had we known that there was such a thing going on, I am sure my husband would have intervened in such a way that would have jeopardized our pleasure of the evening, putting us in a very awkward position, and possibly kicking out the band for overstepping. Instead, we found out afterwards, and some of the shots set up by our photographers got ruined. That is very unprofessional behavior, and I would warn anyone who works with David Rothstein to make sure that you talk to him about this fact. It is your evening, not an evening for the band (and certainly I don't blame the musicians who were wonderful, but the band leader who made these choices) to take publicity shots. I found it it isn't the first time he's done this and that some photographers have refused work when his band is around. So, take this into consideration, and make sure if you do hire them, that you won't let this happen to you. Again, loved the music, but wish this hadn't happened. read more

We had David and his band at our wedding in October at the Sofitel. We had the classical trio for the ceremony, the jazz trio for the cocktail hour and the 11 piece orchestra for dancing. The ceremony music was perfect - and the ceremony music director, Alex, was very helpful before the wedding. Our hora was amazing, and we had the dance floor packed the whole night even though it was a Sunday. Relatives I'd never seen dancing at previous family weddings were even up grooving. It was a great selection of music for all age groups - everyone from my grandpa to our friends really enjoyed it. We didn't get a wedding video - but said if we could go back and do it again we definitely want a video of that hora! read more

David Rothstein Music did our ceremony, cocktaill and reception music. Everything was fantastic. The music was classy when it needed to be and tons of fun as the night lightened up. David and team were also a lot of fun to work with. Jeff Sanders was our main point of contact the night of and he did a fantastic job infusing many of our requests into the evening. We also decided to extend on short notice and they were very flexible in that regard. read more

We had David Rothstein Music play for our wedding in March 2010. We had 2 ceremony musicians (violin and piano) for the cocktail hour, 7 piece orchestra before dinner, and 10 piece after dinner. They were fabulous! David was very easy to work with and really cared about us and our event. He went out of his way to make sure that things went the way we wanted them to, and to make each member of our families happy. He was very accomodating when it came to discussing the details of our event, and very thoughtful. The music itself was awesome! Our dance floor was packed for the whole night. It was the perfect combination of music and everyone had a great time on the dance floor. They even learned a new song for our first dance, and allowed 2 of our friends to sing with the band! David Rothstein music allowed us to have the event we had hoped for! read more
