I recently hired Something 2 Dance 2 to provide MC and DJ music services for my wedding in July 2015. Their office location was conveniently located near the Schaumburg airport. We met with Tamara Sims, the owner, during an initial consultation to learn more about the options we could choose. Tamara was very outgoing, open, and personable. It was clear that she, and her husband who also works as a DJ, highly value the quality of services they provide for wedding couples. Something 2 Dance 2 offered very detailed planning forms and options for different activities throughout the reception party. (I believe the company also offered photo booth and lighting services which we did not book.) Tamara frequently kept in touch with me via friendly email reminders about when payments were due and to begin working on the music lists and info forms. Planning forms included intro music, first dances music, bouquet/garter toss music, and general music preferences. For all music selections, Something 2 Dance 2 provided examples of commonly used songs to listen to as you filled out the form. We also recorded the names of people in our wedding party, parents, grandparents, ushers, etc. Tamara offered many options for kissing games, putt for a kiss (golf), shoot for a kiss (basketball), singing songs for a kiss, and options for dancing with the bride/groom such as the apron dance for $1. She also asked if we wanted group dances like the Electric Slide, YMCA, Cha-cha slide, etc. Once our DJ, Andrew, was assigned, we also met with him for an evening. Like Tamara, Andrew was also very out-going, easy to work with, and fun! He went through all of our music selections, how to pronounce our families' names, and a rough schedule of when to schedule events like the bouquet/garter toss would occur so our photographer/videographer would still be there. He was all about working together with our other hired professionals. He also got in contact with our reception coordinator to match schedules for the night. During the reception, Andrew was very flexible, and came to ask our opinion on everything instead of making the decisions himself, which I really appreciated. He also appeared to get along and work well with our other hired professionals. The only game we decided to play was the couples compatibility quiz, in which myself and my husband sat back-to-back in directors chairs with two different colored pom-pons. Andrew asked us a series of questions like, "Who is the better driver? Who has the family with the biggest troublemaker? Who said I love you first?" I could hear our guests laughing and giggling, and received reviews that everyone liked it! Overall, we received numerous compliments about Andrew from our guests. I felt comfortable that the reception would run smoothly, and that it would be enjoyable for our guests. We had most of our friends on the dance floor until the end! My now-wife and I had the great pleasure of working with Ron Fiedler in planning out our DJ requests for the wedding. Several weeks before the event we were able to sit down with Ron in a professional setting at the Something 2 Dance 2 office, and we walked through the entire day's planning together. He was very professional and comforting, working with us to ease any and all concerns we might have. It was especially nice knowing he has worked with the Brookfield Zoo (our venue) before, as well as our Photographer by complete coincidence. Ron's help and expertise is not restricted to music only, as he helped in arranging our wedding parties walk down the aisle, doing last minute checks to ensure platings were set up properly at the reception, and just in general provide us a calming and reassuring presence that things will go smoothly. He was also very good at remembering some very difficult to pronounce names! Come the day of the actual event, our venue locations at the Zoo were altered because of stormy weather. While this had myself (groom) and the bride somewhat upset and confused as to how the event would continue forward, Ron was there to meet us and assure everything would go smoothly and get everyone situated beautifully at the alternate ceremony location. From here on out, Ron shined and brightened the rainy day for us. The music selections that we worked with him on sounded beautiful; ranging from each step of the ceremony (including working with our live violinist and officiant), the reception introductions, dinner music, dance music, and even some fun games for raffling off center pieces. He had this all down-pat and it worked out perfectly. My wife and I absolutely loved working with Ron and upon the need for another DJ someday, we will definitely be seeking his services again. I highly recommend Ron Fiedler as not only a great professional DJ, but someone that will make the planning process feel comfortable and dissuade any feelings of anxiety you might have along the way. I couldn't possibly say enough good things about our experience with Ron from Something 2 Dance 2. From the very beginning of our planning it was as smooth as could be! My husband and I recognized at the start that Ron and the team were not only professional, but also passionate about their craft. The meeting with Ron before the wedding was just perfect. It completely put me at ease. Since my husband is Venezuelan and I'm from Chicago our wedding was a fusion of two cultures we wanted to make sure each side of the family felt represented and celebrated! Ron showed such enthusiasm for making our dream a reality. Even the smallest of requests he made sure to make a reality. He started our song "casate conmigo" at the perfect place for us to dance to down the aisle. The ceremony went off without a hitch and all of our guests commented on the fun music selections during the ceremony. As we started the reception dinner Ron had the perfect energy to get the guests excited! I so grateful that Ron was so thorough with the details prior so that the night of we were able to just sit back and relax knowing he had everything under control and nothing would be missed! Our first dance was a salsa song as latin dancing is one of our passions. Ron had actually listened to our song prior to the in-person meeting and suggested we shorten it just a bit. Boy was that great advice! It ended up being the perfect length and the crowed loved it! We also incorporated mambo, bachata, merengue and many other types of music. It was no issue for Ron! He was able to keep the perfect balance of genres throughout the night. We also wanted to incorporate the Venezuelan tradition of "hora loca" (crazy hour) at 11pm and Ron was up for the challenge! He took time to let the crowd know what was coming so that everyone felt excited and ready to enjoy the experience! The music was perfect and went well with the marti gras feel of the hora loca! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Ron Fiedler and Tamara Sims from Something 2 Dance 2 for our July wedding at Brookfield Zoo. They are both extremely professional, knowledgeable, and GENUINELY caring people. We signed with S2D2 the day we met with Tamara. We decided to stop pursuing any other DJ services then and there. In the following weeks and months, all questions, phone calls, and emails were addressed within hours (even on the weekends). She was SO great to work with, and we were very confident with her from the start. We met with our DJ/MC, Ron Fiedler, a few weeks before the wedding. He walked us through an outline of an agenda of the night, and he included great details and ideas, many of which we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. He was exceptionally professional and helpful. In the days leading up to the wedding, we were in contact quite regularly, and Ron always responded to emails the same day answering questions, and even providing additional tips along the way. The attention to detail in his work was amazing. At the wedding, ALL of our DJ/MC wants and needs were met. Ron is truly talented in keeping the guests entertained and engaged throughout the night. He played everything on our request list, and incorporated the perfect mix of music and entertainment that kept our guests on the dance floor from the start to end. We used Something 2 Dance 2 after a great first meeting with their sister company Elegant Event Lighting. Jay is the owner and sold us on S2D2 at our up-lighting meeting. We really hoped Jay was going to be our DJ after that first meeting but he assured us whoever we were paired with would be top notch. Enter: Ron Feidler, the greatest wedding DJ we could have ever hoped for. Our Dj was so important to us because not only were we relying on him to keep everyone entertained and dancing at the reception but we also needed our DJ to manage very important parts of ceremony. When Ron was assigned to us he wasted no time making sure he knew every detail, and I mean EVERY detail. And he is one of those guys you only have to tell once and he has it down. Ron met with us for 2+ hours before the wedding and even took the time to call each of the parents to make sure there wasn't anything we left out that each family might want. When the wedding day finally came Ron literally nailed every que. The ceremony's religious songs were prefect almost emulating a Catholic mass and then when it came time for the reception Ron rocked the dance floor from the first song to the last. At no point was the dance floor even half empty. From Jay to Ron, Something 2 Dance 2 is the best (and easiest) choice you can make for your wedding. Our guests haven't stopped saying how much fun the wedding was and without Ron's DJ'ing abilities or Jay and his team's up-lighting I don't think it would have been the same. Working with Something 2 Dance 2 for our wedding was a great experience! Our DJ was Jay Sims. He did an OUTSTANDING job!!! Before the wedding, we had to fill out an online questionnaire about us and our wedding. The questionnaire was very detailed and it helped out so much with the planning process. Jay knew exactly what we wanted for our ceremony and reception. He is very serious about his business and extremely professional. He only does the best work and will not settle for anything less! He was in charge of providing the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Everything was perfect and flawless!!! He was very interactive with us and our guests, which everyone loved. He did not just stand behind his DJ booth and play music; he was out walking around with his mic, getting the crowd involved, and dancing. I think almost every guest we invited came up to us and complimented on how great our DJ was. Jay also provided us the the aisle runner for our ceremony. It was kind of funny because you would think that our venue or another vendor would provide that piece, but Jay pretty much has anything you need for your wedding, not just great music! LOL. I cannot stress enough how amazing Jay was. He was extremely professional, friendly, upbeat, positive, and just passionate about his work. Our DJ from S2D2, Ron Fiedler, was simply the best to work with. As far as S2D2, I've never come across an entertainment company that is so organized and friendly. Tamara and Jay Sims (Elegant Event Lighting - their sister company) are amazing. S2D2 provides you with an online platform so you can let your DJ know the order of everything and who's who and what you want played and when. They even let you choose up your additional song requests for open dancing along with songs you absolutely don't want played. Tamara would send reminders on a timely basis to make sure we were ready to go and when we were about a month and half out, she introduced us to our DJ so we could plan our in person meeting with him. Our DJ was Ron Fiedler. From scheduling our initial meeting in the burbs to communicating our needs and changes via email post meeting to the day of, everything was flawless and Ron couldn't have been more pleasant and prompt to work with. He even called our parents the week of the wedding to see how they were holding up and if they had any questions. He is the sweetest. On the day, he arrived nice and early to be able to watch the wedding and get all situated. Even when unexpected changes occurred or events got added, Ron accommodated things perfectly. My husband and I had been to several friends/relatives weddings where they used this DJ company, and we were so impressed with them that it was one of the first vendor calls we made when we got engaged. They certainly did not disappoint! We were paired with Ron Fiedler, who was outstanding - professional, fun, and super detail oriented. The price was very reasonable for all of the details that he took care of that day, Ron went above and beyond traditional DJ responsibilities to make sure the day went seamlessly(making sure our table numbers were set up correctly, setting up our place cards at the head table so the bridal party knew where to sit, calling my parents to see if they had any special requests for the day). I'm not typically someone who is a huge fan of the cliche corny wedding DJ's that you see at most weddings, but Ron(and the other S2D2 DJ's we encountered at other weddings) did the perfect job of being present as an emcee, but didn't take over the evening. We answered several detailed questions before the wedding day so he could get a better feel for us as a couple, and the music that he played on the wedding night was just perfect for the crowd that we had. After about 1.5 songs, every guest we had was on the dance floor - it was amazing. It's not surprising that this company and the DJs noted get the highest reviews possible. Something 2 Dance 2 is a great service company with exceptional DJs who know how to make your party rock, boogie and hop! Our meeting with Tamara truly impressed us with her warmth and true concern about our event. Our next meeting with our DJ, Larry, was just a lot of fun and laughs. I asked Larry to do a special post up on our introduction with a piece of music and he did it like the pro he is - it gave my wife and I chills as we entered the room to our reception. While we planned a beautiful reception with great food at an exceptional restaurant, our guest acknowledged how awesome the event was because of how fun and great the DJ and his music spinning made the night. That's all there is too it. Your DJ selection will make your event regardless of the rest of the stuff. Larry has a great personality and he intermittently checked with us to make sure he was hitting the moods/songs and fun we had set forth in our planning. I am SO glad we chose Something 2 Dance 2 as our DJ!!! I am typically very picky about DJs because I like when they structure the event, but not when they are overbearing. There is a delicate balance for me, and I thought it might be hard to find that balance since I've seen some pretty horrible DJs in the past... However, Ron is THE BEST!!! Truly. He is so helpful in building a timeline for your wedding (something I was stressing about!) and he gives really good tips and recommendations that help the day run so smoothly. His guidance helped me get through the most stressful parts of wedding planning. He is also so pleasant to work with. I really liked him as a person! On the day of our wedding, the dance floor was PACKED and there was never a lull all night! We had Ron for our wedding, and he was BEYOND PERFECT! Tamara and the whole S2D2 team was so easy to work with and incredibly well organized- their online planning portal was so helpful for us. We were planning our wedding from out of state and Ron even Skyped us to have our planning meeting so we didn't have to make a special trip down. He was so responsive to all the little last minute changes we made, and even called my mom the week before the wedding to calm her nerves. During the wedding, not only was the music EXACTLY what we wanted, but he made sure that all my important people were there to watch first dance etc, and he just made the whole night run so smoothly. They even brought fun props to replace the glass-clinking for a kiss- we had a mini putting green on the dance floor that the kids and adults alike had a blast with. Music at a wedding is so important to us, and we were having a hard time finding a company that left us confident. My coworker recommended Something 2 Dance 2, and as soon as we sat down with Tamara, I knew we had a perfect fit. She took the time to get to know us a couple and assigned us Lorry who did a fabulous job. Not only did we spend time preparing with him in advance, but he truly made sure the night went smoothly for us. We met with Tamara first and she did an amazing job walking us through all of the information they needed for the ceremony and reception. Ron was an absolutely amazing DJ who made our experience so much better. He was so friendly during our meeting with him and answered any questions we had. I cannot say enough great things about S2D2, and specifically about our DJ- Ron. We first met Ron at my sister and brother in laws wedding in Oct. 2015. Toward the end of their wedding night he handed me his business card and said he thought I might be needing a DJ soon, about three months later my husband and I got engaged! I was extremely impressed with their customer service and fast responses. I loved how detailed oriented they were. All the way up to our wedding day!
