We attended a wedding, last year, that had the best DJ! The dance floor was packed all night, and it was very memorable. A few months later, we got engaged. The first thing I did after setting the date, was hire the same company, Monastero, to do our wedding. Music is very important in our lives, and I wanted to make sure that our reception was non-stop dancing! Rob Monastero is the principal, and he held my hand through the whole process. He introduced us to Mike, who would be our DJ. We talked about the order of events, the guests, the overall feeling we were trying to achieve, and special requests we would need. Leading up to the big day, I gave them our lists of songs, timing of speeches, etc. (Monastero has a website that makes it super easy to add songs, notes, etc). Day of, Mike was there early to set up. After some modifications to the space layout, he perfected the positioning of his impressive booth, complete with lighting. Once we were through the intros, and the speeches and the dinner music, he got that party started! And, OMG, did we dance. He kept that floor going. 2020 has been one for the books. After postponing our wedding from May to October, we ultimately ended up having to down-size our guest list (abandoning our plans for a large venue and a live band). At the LAST MINUTE, we decided to hire an MC at our venue manager's recommendation. She suggested we book Rob at Monastero Entertainment, and boy are we glad we did! Rob was awesome - an excellent communicator (super responsive) and was happy to work closely with us on our song selections (even slowing down an upbeat Beatles tune that I wanted to dance with my dad to). Rob and Joe were incredible from the preparation all they way to our wedding day. Rob was our point person and helped with all of the coordination, must play songs, lighting, photo booth, and the mixing for our first dance song! Joe was ultimately our DJ and he did an unbelievable job keeping the dance floor going all night, while also accommodating a fairly complicated request from our maid of honor and best man for their speeches. We used Monastero Entertainment for our wedding ceremony and reception in June of 2022. Rob, our representative, helped us plan our day with ease. We planned our wedding from out of town and he made sure all our needs were met. Prior to the event, Rob fielded several phone calls from us and was always happy to help. We appreciated Rob's expertise and online form to provide our DJ with all the necessary information. We were able to provide a playlist of must play, do not play, and play if you can. Unfortunately, the weather during our event was unfavorable and forced us to change the ceremony plans. Our DJ, Joe, adapted well and had everything ready for the rain location. The music for our ceremony was tasteful and exactly what we were looking for. During cocktail hour, Joe kept the music going and never made it a distraction to our guests. Joe introduced our wedding party and got our guests well excited. His energy could be felt and made our guests really enjoy their time. Joe was right on time with our special dances. We requested our special dance songs be edited for time and it was well done. Joe had microphones for the ceremony and reception ready to go with no interruption. During the reception, Joe expertly read the room and played the right music at the right time. He made sure to keep our guests engaged and enjoying themselves. At the request of a family member, a song from our "do not play" list was played. We were happy the family member enjoyed their song, but we wish we had been asked before playing the song. We booked the package which provided simple lighting, ceremony music, cocktail hour music, dinner music, and ample time for reception. DJ Rob was the BEST DJ for our wedding. He read the room/dance floor so it was constantly crowed to get our guests involved. He was able to mash songs up which was such a huge hit!! He worked with us to make a custom first dance song and dad/daughter dance. During speeches he even used sound effects to get the crowd to laugh at specific parts. Well as you can see already Roberto is the man. After going to a wedding and loving the music my wife asked who the DJ was and we were introduced to Roberto. He was great in working with us since we did some different things at our wedding (remixed first dance, etc.). He also did a great job coordinating with both our photographers and videographers. However, the most important part is the music. After having gone to at least 20 weddings in the last 3 years, I'm of the mindset that music either makes or breaks the wedding. Let's start from the beginning, shall we? We had our wedding on November 7 and booked Monastero Entertainment in February. Roberto and his team all went out of their way to accommodate our crazy schedules so that we could be comfortable with who would be working our wedding. We ended up having John C. as our DJ for the ceremony and reception and he was the perfect fit. On to the day-of. John arrived with all of his own equipment and immediately knew who to ask questions to -- not the bride (me). He went straight to our coordinator and he was ready to go. He set up his own equipment and took the initiative to make sure our keyboardist and officiant were set up comfortably. We also used their uplighting for our venue and it was perfect - I also must add that it is some quality equipment... I don't know how many people accidentally ran into those lights as the evening went on.... There were no glitches (that I knew of!) and everyone had an amazing time with John as the DJ. He even came out and sang our last song of the evening, "Take Me Home, Country Roads," with us. Overall, Monastero Entertainment is INCREDIBLY professional and really handled their own shit (excuse my language, but it's true) - we never once had to remind them who we were or the date of our event... We met with them, checked in a couple times to make sure we were on track, and they showed up on time. I will definitely refer them to anyone who needs DJ services. read more

Saw him perform at a friend's wedding a couple of years ago, and it was perfect. He's a really great singer with the old rat-pack-y type songs (that's all I've heard him sing, but it is great). I'd encourage him to sing a couple if you can, it adds a little bit of a live act to the vibe. Dancing - Awesome. I'm not a dancer in any way, so I had nothing in mind. He did a phenomenal job of keeping an eye on people and seeing what they were and weren't dancing to, mixing things up and keeping everyone entertained. I can't stress enough how awesome Roberto is. He was such an amazing part of my wedding. You wouldn't believe how many people have told us that it was the most fun wedding they have ever been to! I know it's because I had phenomenal vendors and I have no doubt that Roberto played a singular role there - everyone - and I mean EVERYONE including my uncle with his arm in that sling - was on the dance floor!!! After just one meeting he totally got the blend of genres and styles that we love and that would get everyone else up and dancing! Roberto also did uplighting for our reception (seems like such a simple little addition but had such a STUNNING effect on the room!!!) When I first met Roberto, my groom and I brought him this idea -- we are musicians and wanted to have Roberto DJ for most of the night, but we wanted to throw in a little live music just for fun. Not only was Roberto game for our band idea, he brought even more to the table - he suggested having the groom play a drum solo with the DJ music. We actually ended up having both one of his close friends and the groom do a drum solo! It was awesome! A totally fun and unexpected transition from the DJ to the Live section of the night. The night was so much fun - dancing was almost my favorite part (it has to go right after marrying my wonderful husband...) :) I will forever have fond memories of the dance floor and Roberto who made it all possible. Roberto Monastero just DJ'ed and MC'ed for us at our September 1, 2013 wedding. We saw him DJ'ing at a friend's wedding a couple years ago, and knew we had to book him right away when we got engaged. He was the first vendor we booked - he is that good! He is BY FAR the best DJ I have ever encountered, and I have been to MANY weddings. They stuck mostly with the song choices we gave them, but also threw in a few similar songs, and were so good at reading the crowd.
