He met with us at times that were convent for our busy schedules and provided planning documents that got our brains focused on how to get him the information that he needed to make our event so successful. EVERYONE commented on how amazing the dj was and the music was spot on for our very diverse crowd. Additionally, my 7 year old daughter kept going up and requesting songs. He was considerate of the ones we wanted play and made sure that her songs were also included. He was patient with her and literally ran the wedding more smoothly than I could have thought. He was also very understanding that the venue gave him a really short amount of time to prepare and never made me feel like it was going to be a problem. I will definitely consider him for any event in the future and cannot thank him enough.

I hired him for my uncle's wedding less than a month prior to the event and luckily he was able to lock in the date and meet our budget as well. Life saver! He's well versed in all genres of music and he will cater to your specific audience. In my case, it was an older, ethnically mixed crowd. His musical selections and timings were perfect and very much enjoyed by all of our guests. He was very respectful of the bride's requests, which we were all thankful for. We worked with DJ Bonsu for both events of our wedding weekend: Our traditional engagement ceremony and the regular wedding reception which occurred the next day. Both events had roughly 350 people in attendance. Multiple generations, cultures and ethnicities were represented. DJ Bonsu more than delivered the entire weekend! By the end of the night of the first event, the excitement of our guests were heightened! The next day, he exceeded everyone's expectations! The only people sitting down were those whose bodies were exhausted from tearing up the dance floor! Artistically, he is amazing! He was very in tuned with the crowd and moved them perfectly! Don't just take our word for it, here is some of the feedback from our guests: "You did your thing last night doc... I never dance at wedding receptions... NEVER!" -Alex "On point!" - Andy "Had a BLAST! Thank you!" - Daniel "Real talk man, I'm crashing all the weddings you're at!" - Kelly "He was awesome! Great music, great style! While that will not be happening- if it did happen- I'd only set the date to the availability of DJ Bonsu. Because he's the only DJ I would hire!

We were able to ask him questions and worked out some ideas we would like to try with the DJ. Our DJ was Terry. He did a wonderful job keeping things moving along and also worked with us on doing Karaoke for the reception. We were kind of worried on how it would work but he did a great job with making sure the party kept going. Also, communication with DJ Terry was fantastic. Our schedule was slightly chaotic due to the wedding party getting pictures where he came out and introduced himself without having us to find him. From there, he seem to work with the staff at our venue and the wedding party when we had to take impromptu group photos. I would recommend using Spinnin' Disc if you have any special events going on. We had a wonderful wedding and things seem to move smoothly with great music and fun.

They had helpful organizational tools leading up to the event that kept us on track with which songs we needed and gave us an easy place to log them. We had a prep call with our DJ, Chris, who asked us questions about our musical taste, level of DJ interaction we wanted at the wedding, etc. And on the day-of, he delivered: the dance floor was packed and everyone had a fantastic time. My biggest fear in hiring a DJ is that they would be cheesy, or not be able to read the room, and Chris was neither of those things. He knew his stuff and what we wanted, and was a valuable addition to our day. I would highly recommend Spinnin' Discs (and Chris in particular!) to anyone planning a wedding!

If you need a DJ and you're in the Chicagoland area, look no further. If there's a better DJ…read morecompany out there, I'd love to know what more they could possibly do than O'Dea did for us on our wedding day. Here's our story. We planned our wedding out to great detail early on. Early on we decided that we didn't want a DJ; we had both been to weddings that had DJ's that turned the wedding into a 4 hour advertisement for their company. I had all of the music on my iSomething and the hall was able to accommodate us just plugging in our music and hitting play. 3 weeks before the wedding my lovely fiance' sprung the change on me; she thought a DJ would be a good idea. After my initial shock and protest, as well as her saying she had a friend of a friend that knew someone that had worked with a guy that knew this DJ company (OK, it wasn't exactly like that but they were referred to us)... I said OK and called them up. After a brief round of phone-tag, Clara and I got in touch. We talked through the date, the times, and what we wanted for the wedding. I was initially apprehensive because I had 50+ songs already picked out that we HAD to have at the wedding and she said that we needed to pick 5 "must have" songs. As leery as I was, we agreed to have her DJ (Ed) meet with us. Two days later (we talked on a Saturday, met Ed on Monday), Ed drove out from the city to our home in the 'burbs to meet with us. From minute one we were comfortable with Ed. Him and his fellow DJ (I think his brother) are the primary guys doing the gigs and they pick who does what based on Clara's phone screening (they tailor the DJ to the type of party/people involved). Ed is a Chicago native with a cool demeanor and he can handle anything you throw at him. We talked through our concerns about advertising, the song list, and what we needed to have played, and at every turn, he was cool with it all. Ed reviewed our song list and made some recommendations that were absolutely spot on; some songs that you and I may THINK are great to dance to... aren't. Some that we might think won't work in a dance... will. I gave Ed some creative license; songs I had planned for the dinner he moved to the dance time. Some that I thought would work for dancing he moved to cocktail hour. It didn't matter. I gave him a list of 50+ songs that we needed to have played. At the end of the night he came to me all excited that he got them all in except one, which was amazing; it was an eclectic mix! More than just playing the songs, there were, as there are with any wedding, changes to the schedule. We pulled dinner forward in time, we extended the dancing, we changed up the order of the special dances and the cake-cutting. Ed rolled with it all. We had a child-meltdown because he missed HIS song. Ed played a 1-minute snipit of it to avoid a very important child to us from focusing on missing his favorite song. After the wedding, everyone that we've talked to has said that everything went well but everyone that really knows the behind the scenes parts has said that the DJ was particularly outstanding. Ed did our wedding proud. His whole DJ booth was set up in the corner, with discrete black scrims shielding the lights from his laptop, the mixing board, and the whole setup was as unobtrusive as I've ever seen. At the same time, the music was loud enough to keep the dance floor going but not so loud that it drowned out conversations off of the dance floor. At the end of the day, could we have saved money with an MP3 player and an audio cable? Yes. Would that have caused MORE stress, probably caused some mis-timed music, some long pauses, and made us unable to change up the order of the songs based on the dynamic nature of events like weddings? Yes. Was O'Dea Entertainment a good choice for our wedding? Yes, Yes, a thousand times Yes. Thank you Ed and Clara for making our wedding sound amazing.

The DJ was to start playing at 7:30 pm and they were at the event hall before 5 pm setting up. I was nervous and stressed but every time I spoke with DJ Lopez he calmed me down and reassured me that everything was goingo be perfect and indeed it was. There was a Bobblehead of Bad Bunny that came out and livened the party up. The cold sparkles gave it an amazing touch. Being all over the place I wasn't able to get the slide show photos to him until 2 days before and without any hiccups, the slideshow was perfect and made every smile, laugh and cry. I spoke to junior Lopez 4 times before signing my contract in person, and also other companies. Being that he came recommended by the banquet I picked him. 6 months prior to my daughters BIG party, we met and signed the contract and I paid him half of what the total would be. Party was on February 9th 2019. He told me he would want about 100 photos for my daughters slide show, schedule, song recommendations etc. 1-2 months before the party. He never checked in with me, which was the first sign of a disaster. I was the one that contacted him a month prior to party, asking if I can pay him the remaining money due and if we could talk about the photos, schedule etc. . It took him several days to get back to me. When he got back to me(3 1/2 WEEKS BEFORE THE PARTY) he said he miss looked and already had another party for that day and had to cancel my daughters party of 200 people. I asked him how this was possible being that there is sooo many ways to document a costumers deal such as a paper calendar, phone calendar, business documents etc. He gave me an excuse of not seeing the paper contract of the booked event. I guess he only goes by the sheet of contract with is obviously a lie. I get it, he probably got a better deal at the restaurants or club he Dj's at. I was obviously already upset with him but I was more upset that he NEVER apologized. He just spoke in a Boring tone voice and pretty much had a "it is what it is" attitude. A more professional, business owner phone call should have gone something like this... "I am so embarrassed and sorry this happened but guess what, I spoke to another dj that is similar to me and I would love for you to see his Facebook page , you will love him, and I want you to meet him ASAP if possible" He never apologized and is a horrible business owner! Good lucky if you have him booked. He does dj on Friday and Saturday at local bar and restaurants in which is where he was on the day he said he got over booked.
