This is my go to place. The ambiance can be quiet or loud, depending on the clientele and the wait staff (currently Miguel, Cecelia, Walter and Alan) is always courteous. As for the menu.....Mario has the best marguerita in town! If they have whole snapper or rockfish on the menu....get it! You won't be disappointed. We love this place. We found this place about 5 years ago and we have been going ever since. All of the dishes are super duper authentic. It isn't a Mexican place, it actually is an El Salvadorian restaurant. I recommend the Sopa de Res, the Pescado Frito, or the Pollo Chipotle. Here stay away from the traditional Tex-Mex fare (tacos, enchiladas, etc..) and try some of the more authentic cuisine like the lomo saltado and other traditional dishes. That's where this place really shines. The service and the atmosphere is always great. The servers know our order by heart now and we always get great service when we go. The ambience can be either lively or intimate depending on the time of day that you go. Great local restaurant with tasty reliable food and friendly service. The menu says it's a Salvadoran restaurant, but they have a variety of Mexican and other South American-style foods. It's a cozy place in a non-descript strip mall in a middle class neighborhood. I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered there, but my favorites are the seafood enchiladas, their fried plantains and house margaritas. My Dad loves this place. The servers are so nice and make him feel important and never complain about how annoying he gets after he drinks his 5th glass of sangria and tries to talk to them in Spanish by putting an "o" on the end of everything. Their sangria is great. I lived in Spain where they are all about sangria and this place makes the best I've had. They take it up a notch with brandy or something so it actually works (at getting you drunk.) The food is consistently good but I think it's over priced for the quality. The house salsa was mild for us, so our server brought us another bowl with more fresh jalapeño and some added heat. The burrito was just the right size -- not one of those monsters that's too big for anyone over 16. Being well over 16, I can no longer eat a burrito the size of my arm, and this one left room for me to enjoy the tomato-y Spanish rice and a green corn tamal with the taste and texture of a sweet corn pudding. A-OK. We stumbled upon this restaurant by coincidence. We were planning on going to an italian restaurant that we had already been too and decided to check this place out instead. I have to say that the experience was pleasant. The margarita's were definitely good and the food was very good too. The only thing that I was not too happy with was the layout. But this is just. It seems, like when this place gets busy there is very little room. If you like smaller restaurants that sit very close w/ other tables then you will enjoy this place. I would give this place zero stars if I could. The food here was god awful and I was so embarrassed to even take my family there. I don't know if it was because we weren't hispanic that they gave us such awful food, but that was the worst restaurant I had ever eaten at. The meat in the food we ordered was extremely chewy and dry, the beans were more like soup than beans, and the pupusas were so greasy. They only refilled our water once and never came back to refill it. I will never go back there ever again, unless I'm taking someone I absolutely hate. read more

I exchanged it for a sangria - very average. Queso dip was very watery. Entree was ho-hum. Service was atrocious. Happened on this place on Labor Day. They were so welcoming and attentive. The beer is very cold. The service was great. The food was perfection. We had the pollo saltado and it was excellent. Succulent and so flavorful! The salsa was fresh and they gladly refilled it for us. I had the spinach enchiladas. Stuffed full of delicious spinach and seasoned perfectly. It came with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. Perfect balance of flavors. Can't find anything wrong with this great restaurant. Will definitely be back! read more

GREAT FOOD AND CONSTANTLY IMPROVING SERVICE The Laredo is getting better all the time. For starters we had the Guacamole with chips and both were super fresh and plentiful. The combo platters are always a good bet. The beef tacos have top quality beef, nicely prepared. The refried pinto beans are one of my faves! And the yellow rice is cooked to perfection, often with a surprise piece of colorful veggie hidden away, yellow carrot cube, or green string bean cylinder waiting to surprise you. Table service begins with a smile and a "hello" as you enter, quickly followed by an upscale water tumbler with frosty ice. Fresh chips and salsa appear magically as soon as you are seated. All the wait staff are both swift and attentive to your needs. Yes, I do have a minor complaint, because they no longer offer Carta Blanca beer - to bad. However, the beers they do offer are spread over a neat selection of both US and imports. Frozen bar drinks will please everyone. What would I change? I do not like their Chile Rellenos. A good parking lot which is well lighted. Rest rooms are clean and looked after. Bright sunny murals decorate the walls. Good tables, good strong chairs, cloth table napkins, and first-class knives, forks, and flat ware. End your meal with a sweet custardy Flan and a fresh cup of coffee. read more

Wow. I've walked past this place a couple of times going to other places and not really paid it much mind, but today we decided to go in for a late lunch because it has a patio. My husband makes the best ceviche, better than any I've ever tried elsewhere - their ceviche rivaled his! The pupusas were outstanding, tamales were so soft and tender, oysters tasted fabulous. There were so many more items on the menu that I wanted to try but I was so full.... gonna have to go back several more times, might take the kids too, if they're lucky! Our waiter, and I'm sorry I don't remember his name, was so friendly, knowledgeable, quick and efficient. Laredo Grill has excellent made-to-order food and truly personable service. This is one of those restaurants you find by word of mouth. It is a hidden gem. I enjoy taking out-of-town guests to Laredo for wonderful food, a great time, and very tasty Pupusas (fresh hand-made tortilla filled with marinated pork or cheese). This is a great little neighborhood place. Although they do serve the requisite Tex-Mex style dishes, and they are fine, that is not where they really shine. The Salvadoran inspired dishes are always delicious. Try the fresh, whole Snapper - perfect in it's simplicity. Ha, this is not real Mexican food and I'm not even Mexican. I don't have an alternative Mexican restaurant to give you because I live in Florida. I will tell you this, velvetta cheese is not queso, and for $6 I expect more than a 1/4 block of velvetta with a lil pepper in it. The $25 pitcher of margarita was more like a premix where you taste more mix. We asked the server for no salt on the rim and he brought salt, table salt at that on the rim. Ordered beef tacos and server brought chicken tacos. Since I am not from MD, maybe this is good Mexican here but if you are ever in Florida...try a La Nopolera in Jacksonville, FL where the queso is a lil spicy and the $16 pitcher of margaritas taste like a margarita not just the mix.
