The pupusas and curtido are the best! We love getting take out for the whole family but it's the pupusas that keep us coming back every time.

Staff were friendly, but charged the wrong check against my credit card. They quickly fixed it, but that could have been avoided. The atmosphere was unremarkable, the table was dirty. The food had good flavor, but portions were small when compared to other Mexican restaurants I've been to. The fajita combo came was to be served on a bed of green peppers and Spanish onions. There were several onion slivers and just one green pepper ring. There wasn't enough meat to really make three good fajitas. We spent over a hundred dollars and left hungry. The salsa was bland. I would not go back, it's not worth it.

I was out and about and needed some delicious food to refuel. I didn't want anything fast, but a place to sit down and recharge. I stumbled upon this delicious spot! I was greeted by warm customer service and seated promptly. My waiter immediately brought out hot chips and salsa. The chips were fried to a delicious golden crisp, and the salsa was done in the style of a traditional pico de gallo, with lots of flavor! I placed an order for chicken enchiladas, and oh boy were they tasty!!! They came with pico, guacamole, sour cream, rice and refried beans! The enchiladas were so flavorful and savory! It reminded me of the enchiladas that I would eat when living out in Arizona (the enchiladas out there are pretty good my friend). I also doused some hot sauce over them, because your guy here loves heat on his food!!! I am really glad that I stopped at this place, and I honestly love the authentic food. I will be back here again to try more foods. Cheers to good eats!

Yes, from the pastelitos to the costillas to the Cadillac margaritas, stopping for pupusas with tasty curtido (a cabbage slaw), EVERYTHING on the menu at Laredo Grill is great, but the seafood, particularly the pescado frito, the camerones rellenos, and the oysters on the half shell are standouts, so we tried the Salmon Campeche. It was lovely, and the sauce made their always delicious rice (yes, delicious rice) even tastier, but back to the oysters. OMG! We've been eating Laredo's fresh and perfectly shucked oysters on the half shell since we first found them on the specials board by the bar, and we love the nice job they do frying foods, e.g. the pescado frito and their taquitos rancheros, sooo... I asked if they would fry a dozen for us, knowing they would be freshly shucked and immediately fried. Let's just say they are the best in the county as far as we know, and better than at a lot of fancy downtown DC restaurants. Sad to finish them, but we'll be back. Soon. And maybe we'll bring friends and sit outside again and share a pitcher of those Cadillac margaritas, but they'll have to get their own fried oysters!

Of all the outdoor dining places in the area that we have tried, I think Laredo Grill has the best set-up. They didn't have to put together some make-shift table and chairs on the sidewalk or parking lot with a few umbrellas. They already have a fantastic patio pre-pandemic. The huge outdoor seating area is under a roof with ceiling fans. Summer is only going to get hotter around here and if you're being careful about Covid and wanting to eat outside, this is the place. As for the food, it was pretty okay but as we all have our own personal favorite tex-mex place, it was hard not to compare. I ordered the mariscada (seafood stew) and it was fine. The menu said it would contain shrimp but mine did not. It had a lot more broth, tomatoes, and green peppers than seafood. We did have one friend who came later. We ordered his meal at least ten minutes before his arrival as the waitress suggested. When he did arrive shortly after, he ended up waiting over 40 minutes for his meal and it was incorrect. We ordered Steak and Chicken fajita but he got Steak and Shrimp. Not a big deal as there wasn't a difference in price but he was looking forward to to Steak and Chicken. Service was good other than having to wait over 40 minutes for one person. I did ask for no plastic straw in my drink and the waitress did remember. I can't tell you how many times people forget that request. And speaking of straws, it would be great if they did away with the use of plastics.

My family and I came here for Mother's Day because my friends were praising this place and it's in my neighborhood. I was really excited to try this spot because who doesn't love some Mexican food. But, to my disappointment, this place did not reach my expectations: 1. They sat us in a corner on their outdoor patio, near their extra supplies, where no waitresses/waiters come. 2. We are vegetarian so when ordering we wanted to substitute some things with other veggies and they told us that it wasn't possible. 3. When we changed our mind on an entree, the waiter shook his head like he was annoyed - customers always change their mind when ordering and for the waiter to show that he was annoyed or disappointed was really uncalled for. 4. They took over an hour to bring out our food. We noticed that people who were seated after us got their food before us. 5. On top of taking forever to bring our food out, they messed up one order. We ended up just taking it because we were really hungry and we didn't want to wait another hour for them to fix it. 6. It was Mother's Day and we noticed every single customer, before and after us, got a rose except for us. Not sure it was dependent on the waiter serving us or how it was distributed, but we felt that we weren't treated the same as all the other customers. With all the flaws with their service, I was really hoping their food would overcome those flaws, but unfortunately, the food was mediocre. I do understand it was Mother's Day and very busy in such a small space, but they need to work on treating all customers the same and to bring the food in a timely manner. I would like to give this place another try when it's not busy but feeling iffy about that.

Just wow! From the service to the food and drinks, I must say that this place will be on heavy rotation throughout the summer. One of my girlfriends and I came here for lunch because we saw some pictures of the fried fish on IG. Outdoor seating was available under a tent , but was too cold that day. The inside isn't very big but the connected outdoor area make up for it. There are heated lamps by the way. So we both ordered fried fish and frozen margaritas. The Margaritas are served in a huge glass. They were so good that we doubled up on our drinks. We were very happy when we left. Lol. We were also allowed to mix flavors. I loved the mango and passion fruit flavor. The fish was everything I hoped for. Flavorful, crisp and served with a side of white rice and black beans. I ate everything off of my plate with no regrets.

Two stars for the super nice customer service and for the salsa. That's pretty much it. The place looks nice but it's actually not crowded on the inside. You actually have Hispanic waiters which is also a plus but the food... The food is TexMex at best! I find that to be awfully weird. My friend feeling very BLAH about the whole dinner. The salsa was great, but not over $65 great. The menu is extremely oversaturated and with many things that all seem to be pretty much the same with the exception of one or two items. A large order of guacamole guarantees you about a cup and a half of blended avacados. That's it. Nothing more. We didn't leave hungry, but if we wanted a ton of refried beans tasteless rice and HandFuls of cheese we could've stayed home. We won't be back.

Meh. That's my opinion of this place. The chips and salsa were average. The oysters were better raw and without the cocktail sauce (that's just how I prefer them). The side order of cheese enchilada was good but nothing to obsess about. The outdoor seating area had plastic chairs. I'm not sure how much weight those chairs can withstand but they were so light that I worried for some people. The inside of the restaurant seemed cramped. You can fit groups of people in there but there isn't much wiggle room, not even between the bar stools and the regular tables. Customer service was slightly below average. It quickly became apparent that the other patrons were regulars or friends of the employees. I was forgotten or left alone for long periods of time, twice. I got irritated because I needed to go, but decided to wait for them to come to my table to see how long it would take. It took a while.

The chips were stale, food mediocre. The service was pretty bad. Even though there was only one other table being served, our waiter never checked on us after giving us our food. They also didn't honor the 15% off coupon on their website. The prices were about the same as Guapos so just go there. read more

We love this place. We found this place about 5 years ago and we have been going ever since. All of the dishes are super duper authentic. It isn't a Mexican place, it actually is an El Salvadorian restaurant. I recommend the Sopa de Res, the Pescado Frito, or the Pollo Chipotle. Here stay away from the traditional Tex-Mex fare (tacos, enchiladas, etc..) and try some of the more authentic cuisine like the lomo saltado and other traditional dishes. That's where this place really shines. The service and the atmosphere is always great. The servers know our order by heart now and we always get great service when we go. The ambience can be either lively or intimate depending on the time of day that you go. All in all, this place is a very good restaurant and is a great choice for traditional Salvadorian food. read more

Love this place. It's in an odd shopping center and the outdoor tables overlook the parking lot and yet it still a fun place. Food is always good and service is good as well. My preference is usually the seafood best in town. read more

If you think Guapos or Uncle Julio is good, wait until you try Laredo. To be honest, this is the best Mexican/Salvadorian restaurant in the Montgomery County area that I have been to. I have been going to this restaurant my entire life with the family and have never been disappointed. I recommend for people to try the Salmon, Pollo a la Parilla, and the picadera. read more

Great local restaurant with tasty reliable food and friendly service. The menu says it's a Salvadoran restaurant, but they have a variety of Mexican and other South American-style foods. It's a cozy place in a non-descript strip mall in a middle class neighborhood. I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered there, but my favorites are the seafood enchiladas, their fried plantains and house margaritas. If you are looking for good food at a good price in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, try Laredo Grill. read more

My Dad loves this place. The servers are so nice and make him feel important and never complain about how annoying he gets after he drinks his 5th glass of sangria and tries to talk to them in Spanish by putting an "o" on the end of everything. Their sangria is great. I lived in Spain where they are all about sangria and this place makes the best I've had. They take it up a notch with brandy or something so it actually works (at getting you drunk.) The food is consistently good but I think it's over priced for the quality. Don't get me wrong, it tastes great and is not bad quality, but I would put it on par with chain restaurant quality. read more

A-OK. We stumbled upon this restaurant by coincidence. We were planning on going to an italian restaurant that we had already been too and decided to check this place out instead. I have to say that the experience was pleasant. The margarita's were definitely good and the food was very good too. The only thing that I was not too happy with was the layout. But this is just. It seems, like when this place gets busy there is very little room. If you like smaller restaurants that sit very close w/ other tables then you will enjoy this place. As I said, the food, service, and drinks were very good. We were lucky to be there before they got busy so our experience was good. read more

I rated with only 1 start. And bc I ment that. Don't waste your time going here. The appetizers are with no flavor. No salt, dressing was bad. Moreover, my meal was terrible. It tasted like eating overheated food, or even worst than that. The waiter was nice though. read more

Thumbs up for the Diablo margarita, with floating coins of fresh jalapeño and a rim dusted with salt and cayenne. The house salsa was mild for us, so our server brought us another bowl with more fresh jalapeño and some added heat. The burrito was just the right size -- not one of those monsters that's too big for anyone over 16. Being well over 16, I can no longer eat a burrito the size of my arm, and this one left room for me to enjoy the tomato-y Spanish rice and a green corn tamal with the taste and texture of a sweet corn pudding. Some Salvadoran dishes along with the Mexican adds great variety. Nice patio, and prices are super reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. read more

Very seriously mediocre! I tried this place because the Yelp reviews were pretty good, but what a disappointment! I ordered a margarita and it arrived with plain table salt on the rim. I exchanged it for a sangria - very average. Queso dip was very watery. Entree was ho-hum. Service was atrocious. I was basically ignored and had to flag down my waiter to give me the check and then again to pay. Not worth a visit. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The food here was god awful and I was so embarrassed to even take my family there. I don't know if it was because we weren't hispanic that they gave us such awful food, but that was the worst restaurant I had ever eaten at. The meat in the food we ordered was extremely chewy and dry, the beans were more like soup than beans, and the pupusas were so greasy. They only refilled our water once and never came back to refill it. I will never go back there ever again, unless I'm taking someone I absolutely hate. read more

Happened on this place on Labor Day. They were so welcoming and attentive. The beer is very cold. The service was great. The food was perfection. We had the pollo saltado and it was excellent. Succulent and so flavorful! The salsa was fresh and they gladly refilled it for us. I had the spinach enchiladas. Stuffed full of delicious spinach and seasoned perfectly. It came with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. Perfect balance of flavors. Can't find anything wrong with this great restaurant. Will definitely be back! read more

GREAT FOOD AND CONSTANTLY IMPROVING SERVICE The Laredo is getting better all the time. For starters we had the Guacamole with chips and both were super fresh and plentiful. The combo platters are always a good bet. The beef tacos have top quality beef, nicely prepared. The refried pinto beans are one of my faves! And the yellow rice is cooked to perfection, often with a surprise piece of colorful veggie hidden away, yellow carrot cube, or green string bean cylinder waiting to surprise you. Table service begins with a smile and a "hello" as you enter, quickly followed by an upscale water tumbler with frosty ice. Fresh chips and salsa appear magically as soon as you are seated. All the wait staff are both swift and attentive to your needs. Yes, I do have a minor complaint, because they no longer offer Carta Blanca beer - to bad. However, the beers they do offer are spread over a neat selection of both US and imports. Frozen bar drinks will please everyone. What would I change? I do not like their Chile Rellenos. A good parking lot which is well lighted. Rest rooms are clean and looked after. Bright sunny murals decorate the walls. Good tables, good strong chairs, cloth table napkins, and first-class knives, forks, and flat ware. End your meal with a sweet custardy Flan and a fresh cup of coffee. read more

Wow. I've walked past this place a couple of times going to other places and not really paid it much mind, but today we decided to go in for a late lunch because it has a patio. My husband makes the best ceviche, better than any I've ever tried elsewhere - their ceviche rivaled his! The pupusas were outstanding, tamales were so soft and tender, oysters tasted fabulous. There were so many more items on the menu that I wanted to try but I was so full.... gonna have to go back several more times, might take the kids too, if they're lucky! Our waiter, and I'm sorry I don't remember his name, was so friendly, knowledgeable, quick and efficient. The kitchen staff are outstanding which I can tell you from the speed of service and quality of food. read more

Laredo Grill has excellent made-to-order food and truly personable service. This is one of those restaurants you find by word of mouth. It is a hidden gem. I enjoy taking out-of-town guests to Laredo for wonderful food, a great time, and very tasty Pupusas (fresh hand-made tortilla filled with marinated pork or cheese). All of their food is very fresh. read more

This is a great little neighborhood place. Although they do serve the requisite Tex-Mex style dishes, and they are fine, that is not where they really shine. The Salvadoran inspired dishes are always delicious. Try the fresh, whole Snapper - perfect in it's simplicity. Yes, their prices are a little higher than the mundane, high-output Mexican places, but everything is made fresh. The patio makes for a nice place to sit in the summer and enjoy your Margarita. read more

Ha, this is not real Mexican food and I'm not even Mexican. I don't have an alternative Mexican restaurant to give you because I live in Florida. I will tell you this, velvetta cheese is not queso, and for $6 I expect more than a 1/4 block of velvetta with a lil pepper in it. The $25 pitcher of margarita was more like a premix where you taste more mix. We asked the server for no salt on the rim and he brought salt, table salt at that on the rim. Ordered beef tacos and server brought chicken tacos. Since I am not from MD, maybe this is good Mexican here but if you are ever in Florida...try a La Nopolera in Jacksonville, FL where the queso is a lil spicy and the $16 pitcher of margaritas taste like a margarita not just the mix. Thanks for reading, I hope this review helps you make the right choice to just eat somewhere else. JUST EAT TACO BELL AND BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL!! read more

Laredo Grill has been a favorite for many years. The Margaritas are great (best buy is 1/2 pitcher) and the staff is genuinely friendly and accommodating. The food is not spicy but can be made that way if you would like. Fish is fresh and great but the RIBS are amazing ! read more

Food and server is very good. Outdoor seating is also available and so it take out. Always get a good meal when we go. However, they are sometimes a little stingy when you ask for extra salsa for your meal and one time I was charged $2.25 when I asked for extra salsa or they are slow to refill the salsa dish. Overall excellent but they need to work on being a little more generous when customers ask for a something little more with feeling like they will be overcharged. read more

Just tried to look at website /menu. Took me to a Groupon ad asked me for my email address and phone number. They said we're calling you now to verify your phone number after I press one to verify it's told me that they're charging some astronomical fee to my PayPal account. Jokes on you I close that PayPal account due to something similar in recent days so there's no PayPal account to charge to. You could tell that this wasn't just like your run-of-the-mill taco joint. The flavors had a depth (especially the guisado) that brought things up a notch. But, like I was saying - although the food was great and memorable, I was really appreciative of how awesome the staff was and would love visiting again if we're in the area. The steak quesadilla was a big fat stuffed quesadilla with plenty of steak for big thick giant pieces with Crema to dip it in and a salad with the best tasting tomatoes I've ever had. It was so affordable better prices than most other places in the area and super excellent really good place. I can't recommend it enough.
