We stopped in early to get the Happy Hour. Sope, flautitas and street corn. Excellent! Best part, though, was Sergio! He is an amazing server. By far the worst Mexican restaurant experience we've had! All of us ordered vegetarian dishes and 2 out of 3 orders were messed up: First, we ordered the cheese quesadilla with veggies and it came with chicken. Thank goodness my dad checked first otherwise he would've ate it and he would've gotten sick! Second, we ordered the veggie enchiladas (no changes, adjustments, or substitutions) and my mom took a bite and spit it right out because she noticed the texture after taking a bite and it was shrimp! I think that was absolutely absurd to get, not just one, but two orders completely wrong! We are all vegetarian and it's against our religion to have any meat or seafood and both dishes came with one or the other. I also think it's kind of ridiculous and crazy that they can't accommodate vegetarians by substituting meat for veggies/beans! However, I will say the manager was nice about it all and asked if we wanted any dessert or replacements but we refused because we just lost our appetite. Was not worth our time! I went here Saturday night on the recommendation of a friend and LOVED it. The restaurant was vibrant. It was crowded, the music was blaring, people were laughing and genuinely having a good time. The main dining room was full so we sat in a smaller room in the back. It was just as nice, but had a calmer vibe. I ordered a virgin strawberry mojito and shrimp tacos. The mojito was fresh and was served with a sugar cane stick. The tacos were really good and filling. The service was A+. We had 3 managers come check on us in addition to our server. They were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. There were also several birthdays that night. It was fun to watch the staff celebrate with the sombrero, singing, flares, etc. I will definitely be back and recommend for anyone looking for good Mexican in the area. Yesterday was my niece birthday l. We got to the restaurant at a decent hour. Mind you it's packed because of the World Cup. While we were eating we had told the waitress that it was her birthday and she proceeded to tell us that she can't sing her happy birthday because the music that was playing is too loud and can't do it no more. Maybe after 10-15mins later the table next to us gets there happy birthday with all the staff singing. That was very unfair and to be a family restaurant was not ok. I left there very upset and very disappointed. Only because music was playing and it was packed because I'd the FIFA that should not change anything. We came as a group to celebrate my mom's birthday on a Thursday night and ordered a bunch of yummy drinks and appetizers to share. I've been 2 times to Señor Tequila's with my family, since it's a pretty lively spot in MD that serves a good mix of both traditional Mexican dishes and Tex-Mex classics, can easily seat big number of people and staff are always friendly! Recently went to celebrate my husband's birthday, since he enjoys Tex-Mex and my family (Hispanic) prefers more authentic Mexican food, that's why we decided to pick this spot. Last time I had one of the Molcajetes with shrimp and all the sizzled veggies, it wasn't on the menu but I asked the servers If they could adjust that dish for me since I'm pescatarian. Although this time I ordered the Enchiladas Vallarta, which are the shrimp enchiladas with calabaza, pumpkin seed pepitas and cheese sauce. The sauce was velvety and very decadent because of the fresh cheese it was made! I was very surprised how thick those enchiladas were, filled with tons of shrimps (well these are $20 and in order to have rice and beans you pay an extra $2, which I did thinking I was gonna be hungry, if I had not eaten 2 entire baskets of chips and salsa by myself I would've been hungry and needed the refried beans and rice) The only thing is that I would probably add some more heat on the sauce or something that will add a kick or tang to the very rich sauce! Overall a great dish I will definitely order again (or the vegetarian one since they use the same sauce)! I think a molcajete it's too expensive for a few shrimps and just fajita veggies (almost $35 for it). My husband has their torta chingona, it has milanesa a kind of breaded chicken cutlet/schnitzel, refried black beans, grilled quesillo fresco, pickled slaw and a fried egg, all in a big bolillo. He was only able to eat half of it and took the other one home, you can add fries but honestly it's so big and already $20 for the only the sandwich. He said that the flavors were really good but wished it had some mayo or cream for the chicken cutlet! We shared a small size passion fruit margarita and my parents had their medium size swirled passion fruit and blackberry slushy margarita, I wish we've ordered the medium since it's way bigger for just $3 more. I did like it with tajin rim than with salt rim. My parents love this place and they always order the Jalisco Molcajete, the one that has all the meats and shrimp. It's big enough to share between 2 even 3 people. My dad loves the flavor of the steak and truly enjoys the charred jalapeño (he always ask for extra!) I think it's very well served and it's super fun to see it served on the molcajete! Since we were celebrating my husband's birthday, he got a courtesy Tres Leches cake! (I think they usually do shots on the house, but he doesn't like hard liquors, so they gave us a big slice of their decadent tres leches!) I enjoyed the fact that wasn't so sweet and even the whipped cream was done right, it was not gritty like most of the Mexican restaurants that offer "tres leches" as one of the dessert options. The milk soak could've been a little bit thicker, but the cake was moist enough to be enjoyed! It's a really fun place to go with family or friends! This location in particular has dancing nights Friday-Sunday! Since it's getting closer to Dia de Los Muertos celebration, they already placed the vibrant decor! I wish it's a lil bit less expensive, but for the quality and service, I understand prices have to be on the higher side. read more

This is a fun restaurant! I say this because they have music, mariachi, tv, night life, and decent food. I got the salmon the last time I went. I have also gotten their steak before which was cooked well. Their cocktails are also very good but a tad bit on the sweeter side. They are also (in my own opinion) over priced. My salmon with a bed of vegetables was $26. No rice or anything else. And it was a bit overcooked. They do birthday should outs which is nice and also offer a plane full of shooters (price can vary) with a cute celebration from the staff. They have a great taco Tuesday deal where you buy one order of street/traditional tacos (3-5 tacos meal) and you get the second order free. I was excited with it at first but upon receiving I was a bit disappointed with how small the taco was and how much onions there was. I love onions but it was a bit too much today. Joaquin was our server and took great care of us. His friendliness made us feel very welcomed and we were happy with how quick everyone brought the chips, water and entrees out. We ordered 1 appetizer to share among 4 people, and each person got 1 entree, and we were all stuffed! I think all the food here was probably as close as you could get to traditional Mexican food. Everything tasted really flavorful, so don't be deceived with how small the tacos might appear. My coworkers & I decided to go to Señor Tequilas for national margarita day & to celebrate my birthday & it was quite busy as you would imagine on a celebration like this! They had deals such as $6 margaritas for 3 different flavors; strawberry, mango, and lime ( all were splendid) & had Dj Bambino playing the beats. I ordered a ceviche type dish topped with avocado, pickled onions, and micro greens and tried each flavor of margarita. Ceviche was a good balance of acidity paired with the corn chips. Although the night was eccentric, there are a few things I did not appreciate. First of all, we came in as a group of two, then four as we were waiting for others to get off work to meet us here, a total party of 10. We asked our server Alex to see if we could arrange two more tables to have everyone sit together & were informed that it was not possible due to their "first come first serve" policy. I completely understand because it was expected to get busy. Then as time passed, we noticed some tables getting arranged for another party of 10, not our party. Of course we were confused because we were told reservations were not allowed. After multiple discussions with our server and other employees, we were able to sit at the tables for our party of 10. Secondly, I ordered an old fashioned and they served it to me in a plastic cup. This was not the presentation I was expecting. The last attachment is a video of how they typically serve it. Perhaps they needed to do only plastic cups as a safety precaution for glass breaking. Overall, we had a delightful evening of dancing and refreshing drinks.
