I ordered pick up. I got a torta asada and I added cheese and extra meat. I got salsa verde and roja. The pickup interaction was brief but friendly. The location always looks and smells clean. I've been craving a torta and it was so good. The bread held all the flavors together perfectly. The carne asada was flavorful. I always eat good when I come here read more

I was really disappointed with my order from Tacos in Germantown. I got two carne asada tacos and a carne asada quesadilla, but the tacos were honestly really bad. The meat was super dry, tough, not seasoned, and had almost no flavor. I couldn't even finish them and ended up throwing them away. The quesadilla was a little better, but overall the carne asada just wasn't good. I used to like this place, but after this experience I won't be coming back. read more

Stopped by for dinner because we were nearby and craving Mexican food. Sorry, but this spot missed the mark. Ordered an al pastor burrito with double meat, but it came mostly stuffed with rice and beans with the regular amount of meat (basically looked similar to the chicken burrito we ordered). The chorizo on my sope lacked flavor. Luckily the steak tacos weren't bad. Staff seemed preoccupied as I needed to repeat my order multiple times. Plenty of seating and parking available. read more

I stumbled upon Tortacos recently and I'm pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was! This fast casual restaurant has Tacos, tortas, quesadillas, bowls, burritos, and more. For tacos, we got the Asada. Al Pastor and Pescado. In my opinion I didn't love the fish taco only because it was so fishy. They also have a topping bar on the side. The quesadilla special was hefty! I really enjoyed my meal here. Everything was really tasty and definitely hit the spot if you're craving tacos. read more

My 1st time at this place. We all know if we want burrito bowl we go to Chipotle. Gave this place a try. Wow! What a surprise-one of the best Chicken burrito bowl I had. Perfect seasoning, perfect size and just delicious. The only issue I had was every bite there was TOO many pieces of chicken! Unlike Chipotle where you have to go on a scavenger hunt to find some pieces of chicken in your bowl. Will be back! read more

Undoubtedly one of the best Mexican places in the area. The chorizo bowl and tacos are amazing. The spicy sauce always adds a new layer to the already impressive depth of flavor - despite reminding myself not to use too much, I continue to add too much and pay for it later. Who cares it is amazing while you are enjoying the meal. I go here on a monthly basis despite living 20-30 minutes away - worth the drive. read more

First time not only receiving delivery but also our first time at the Germantown Tortacos. Previously frequented the original location in Gaithersburg near the now defunct Lake Forest Mall. Ease of online ordering definitely started out the experience on a positive note, but the whole thing was great from start to finish. It took *just* about 45 minutes from order to delivery, which is great since we were expecting about an hour. It's Superbowl weekend and the weather isn't great so we knew the possibility of delays was real. The food was delivered SOOO hot and fresh, I couldn't even really tell it had traveled from Germantown to Gaithersburg! Boyfriend ordered the taco trio, al pastor (his favorite), pescado and chorizo in addition to their hot and mild salsas. Got a horchata (first time trying) as his beverage. I ordered the Quesabirria taco trio with consomme on the side. They were absolutely divine, especially with a squirt of fresh lime and dipped in any of the options, be it the mild or medium salsas or the consomme. Got the Mora (blackberry) beverage and chips and pico on the side. Chips were super fresh, pico was just perfect. We will absolutely order delivery again, and we definitely want to try more options, I in particular wish to try the tortas. We also ordered the flan as it's very highly rated, but haven't quite got the room to try it yet :) read more

Ordered via DoorDash thanks to a gift card and it was delivered a few minutes early on a stormy night. The tacos were delicious - I had chicken, pork, and beef along with a side of queso and chips. I was impressed with how stuffed the tacos are. All 3 were delicious and the meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly, great experience! read more

TACO TUESDAY!!! YUMMI, DELICIOUS, FRESH, PATIENT, INFORMATIVE!!! Listen, my buddy told me about this place before COVID, and I never came, until now! We ordered mandarin Jarritos, a Mora, and a Mexican Coke. For food we had Sope Asada, quesadilla Al pastor, dorados x 2, chips and quac, pico de gallo, and one carnitas taco. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!! I have never had a Sope before and I am pleased to say I would order again. While every single item was delicious, the one thing I want to point out is the amount of pico they give ! It was like my birthday I was so happy!. It was fresh, and perfect! The chips appeared to be house made. The food came out within five minutes hot, and delicious. The restaurant was clean including the restroom. The restroom is unisex and I appreciate that. Great job to the staff who were patient while I pulled on my Spanish to order dinner! I took an 'all inclusive' picture of what we ordered. You will not be disappointed!! read more

The food is always so consistently fresh and delightful. I always order... chicken quesadillas and carne asada burrito bowl (to-go)... mild and hot sauces; chips, guacamole and pico de gallo. Have tried Tortas... and I think the deluxe quesadillas , the special pollo (all so good)... Ambiance is dim yet nice in the eating areas. Restrooms are always neat and clean. The overall attention to detail makes for a positive yet clean experience. Definitely being here from California... it's one of my family favorites. read more

I tried this restaurant for the first time and the food was awesome. I tried the chicken quesadilla. The chicken was fresh and the cheese was melted perfectly. The outside of the quesadilla was toasted right on point, so the quesadilla was NOT SOGGY WHATSOEVER. The price for the quesadilla was 7.50, which is great for these economic times. This is a much better choice than eating at a fast food place. Also, the restaurant is super clean. I didn't see any crumbs on tables or chairs, WHICH I HATE. I highly recommend this place. I gave them four stars because the quesadilla only comes with sour cream and hot or mild sauce. It does not come with salsa or Pico de Gallo. However you can pay extra for it. read more

Went on Jan 4th, 2026 for the first time. Recommended by my nephew. I give them 5 stars. I ordered 3 tacos (2 asadas, 1 carnitas). I loved it! Their sauces are delicious. Their staffs are friendly. I cannot say enough about how good the food is here. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and the place is usually very relaxed.

This was my first and last visit. I ordered the carne asada bowl and, while the flavor was amazing, the aftermath was unacceptable. By 1:30 AM, I was ill and spent 45 minutes in the bathroom. I remained sick for two full days following that meal. I COULDNT HOLD ANYTHING DOWN OR IN FOR TWO DAYS. I will never eat at this establishment again. read more

Good food for a good price. Their hot salsa digs so much deeper into me than chipotle ever could. I dream about tortacos chorizo. One reason i didn't go as often before is because a couple other mexican food trucks nearby gave you as much salsa as you wanted, which is pretty standard practice in my experience, and tortacos didnt used to do that. But i just visited tortacos on 10/30 and they had salsa out on a table that you can take on your own. And I prefer tortacos taste, so I'll probably be coming here more often. The lighting inside seems improved compared to before. To all the reviews complaining about price: I'm sorry that you are uncultured and think that tacos are usually cheaper than $3. This isn't taco bell, the prison simulator that serves up sh@t encapsulated in a pathetic diaper. Don't lash out onto the world because you're broke! The problem isn't always elsewhere. This is an authentic spot with affordable food. I've only ever ordered food to go or for delivery, so I can't speak to the service when you dine there. However, the food travels very well and tastes great! Five stars as far as walk-up-counter taco stands go. The tacos here are amazing with fresh ingredients and flavorfully seasoned meats and veggies. I was passing through Germantown and pulled up Yelp to find a well rated fast-ish food place. Tortaco popped up as a new local favorite so I gave it a try. And really glad I did. Service was friendly, helped me with menu suggestions, and wow are they quick at preparing the food. They also have homemade salsas that add to the flavor and spicy bite of the tacos. I got the three taco special and picked three different options; the chicken, al pastor, and chorizo. All were delicious and had a unique profile. The restaurant is inviting as fast food establishments go, and clean. read more

We picked up food to go one afternoon and we were shocked at the quality and flavor. The BEST torta I've ever had on the east coast. Seriously, everything is good here but I still dream about that torta. In fact we came back a week later just to order more delicious treats. We tried their dorados which are rolled tacos with chicken that are fried and topped with lettuce, queso fresco and sour cream (omitted). They are best eaten right after they box them up so they are still crunchy and hot. We also tried their tacos; carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and pescado. They are topped with the traditional white onions and cilantro (not lettuce, tomato and cheese - sorry Taco Bell fans) but the fish tacos are topped with slaw. All of the tacos are delicious, but the carne asada stood out as our favorite. On our first trip we also tried a carne asada burrito - which is huge and if you are able to eat the entire thing, prepare for a nap soon after. The torta - the golden child at this location as far as I'm concerned. It can do no wrong. Jam packed with the meat of your choice, lettuce, tomato, refried beans slathered on like a condiment, and delicious in every juicy bite. You can't go wrong here, everything is delicious! read more

I am severely disappointed in this establishment and will never come back again! After going to Tortacos old Gaithersburg location for many years. The Germantown location sucks and they literally have changed a lot lot from their previous menu. I had a veggie bowl and it was so skimp, and they tried to charge me for extra cheese. The cheese are not the same as the one they served before. I should've said something, but I decided to eat a little bit and got the rest to go. They lost a family and a customer and I will never be coming back ever again.! read more

Despite being in a strip mall, Tortacos is worth a visit. Started by folks from Los Angeles who moved to the area, they serve among the best tacos in the D.C. area. Here's why you should go: 1) Tacos: They sell many of them and you can't go wrong. I ordered the fried beef tacos with cheese and combined with the dipping sauce...wow! It was hot, tasty and hit the spot! 2) Space: It's large with plenty of booths and tables. Public restrooms are in the back. 3) Parking: Because it's in a strip mall, there's PLENTY of parking. 4) Staff: They are friendly and clearly proud of their product. The man behind the register asked that I give my honest feedback after lunch. He came and found me to ask how my lunch was. I told him "out of this world!" read more
