Amazing! Great vibe and nice staff, we did feel slightly rushed but to be fair we were one of the last reservations of the evening. The focaccia was fantastic as well as the mushroom ravioli (sweet but savory so good) and the pesto bucatini. My husband and I went to Larch to celebrate my birthday, as we often go there for special celebrations. Unfortunately this time was an unpleasant experience due to the ambiance/environment of the restaurant. We were seated at a table and the table next to us had two young kids that clearly didn't want to be there and were very disruptive. I have 3 kids and get that dining out with kids can be challenging but this does not feel like the most appropriate place to take little kids. One of the kids ended up crying so hard that he vomited on a plate on the table. On the other side of the restaurant there was a kid on a phone that had the volume up extremely high. The sound of the game she was playing and then show that she was watching was louder than the restaurant music. It was extremely annoying. We ended up say something to an employee who acknowledged the "annoying" sound and said she would say something to their server. Even after saying something, the noise continued for another 10-15 minutes. Finally our server, Dan, addressed the noise with that patron and it finally got better. read more

Amazing food and service in a quaint little dining room. The menu has a great mix of selections. Our group had the filet, two amazing pasta dishes, and the salmon. All were cooked to perfection with generous portions. We had dinner here one night on our last trip to Leavenworth and found the food to be really good. We had reservations and were able to get seated in the adult only room with the bar, which was nice and quiet compared to the family side. Our server was friendly and helpful navigating the unlabeled menu for allergins. Unfortunately, they didn't have gluten-free pasta or many other gf dishes that night, but our server spoke to the kitchen, and they were able to modify one of the dishes for me. The crabcakes were surprisingly gluten-free and were ok but not my favorite. The steak and polenta was really delicious though, and the husband of mine enjoyed his pasta. Dishes were presented artfully. Portions were large, and we were too full for dessert. Overall, we liked the atmosphere, and the service was great. Sooo good and original, creative dishes and our server was so great.. we started with the pork belly appetizer which is a large portion and delicious!!! Especially if you like fattier cuts of meat. Both my husband and I really loved our dishes. The pasta tasted freshly made and both our meals were fantastic. I had the casarrece brisket pasta. It had a slight kick but not to spicy where you dont enjoy your meal. Did I mention these noodles were soooo good.. my hubby had the lasagna and the cheeses alone made the meal. Location was in a bit of an unusual spot with it being somewhat off an ally, we made reservations as was recommended for 6pm and were seated immediately. Our spot was in the bar area which we rather enjoyed as it was quieter and less crowded. The lovely bartender was also our waitress and recommended the best gin drink ! We weren't as hungry as we thought we would be, so we decided to share the entree. We started off with the generous serving of Caesar salad which was delicious, we especially liked the 2 anchovy that it was topped with. Nice chilled, fresh & crisp romaine. Had a reservation here for 9:30 on a saturday night but decided to swing by at 8:00 to see if they could get us in any earlier, after popping across to Stein and having a quick drink they called us and had us seated by 8:30. It is a tiny space and I could see it getting pretty loud on a busier night but noise level was tolerable. There's nothing particularly special about the interior of the restaurant, but it is a nice departure from the heavy bavarian themes of the rest of the restaurants in town. Our server was kind and attentive and food came out quick! We started with the focaccia which was light and crisp on the outside, my fiancé found the tomato oil too sweet but I thought it was well balanced. He got the cod and saffron risotto, I got the pappardelle. The pasta was tasty, if a little over sauced, but his fish was SO YUMMY. The risotto was perfectly cooked and so creamy with great texture, fish was moist and flavorful. We couldn't get enough! We will be back to try the cocktails and more next time we are in Leavenworth for sure. read more

Came here for dinner on a Monday night with some friends while staying in Leavenworth. The menu is good size with many choices of appetizers & entrees. All being first timers we got some recommendations from our server which was super helpful are all tasty choices. We started/shared the mushrooms, cab/shrimp cakes and the ARANCINI risotto croquettes-- It was also recommended to get the focaccia bread as there were going to be some soakable sauces with our starter choices (good call). The hostess led us to the bar area even though we had a reservation and would have liked the ambiance of the actual restaurant for our anniversary. We tried to make the best of it. The bartender was our server and he was fantastic but it just wasn't the same. I ordered the mezzaluna which claimed to be stuffed with crab and shrimp and topped with prosciutto and prawns. I put my fork into the first ravioli and there was NOTHING inside. I opened the next one and there was some filling but it was light and I saw no shrimp. It tasted salty and not appetizing. As I tried it, I bit into something hard and crunchy, which I thought was strange for prosciutto. It was bacon. The "prawns" on my plate were shrimp. And small. It appears that what is on the menu is not what you actually get. My partner got the pappardelle and it was better, but still seemed rushed and premade. For $30+ a plate, we felt robbed. While we waited we grabbed a drink at their sister restaurant around the block, also amazing. We got to sit in the cute little bar area and really everything was very unique and so delicious. I had the gojuchang pasta and wow, so different but amazing. The pasta was very fresh and perfectly al dente. Their focaccia bread was warm and salty and great. There were three of us so we ordered drinks ( very well made) and a plate of the roasted cauliflower with blue cheese ailioli- just enough for the three of us and soooo good. I don't know if this was just a "bad night" for the restaurant but we had a less than pleasant experience with the food. The place was a 2 min walking distance from the hotel , we got there about 5 min before our dinner reservation. Service 9/10- service was really good, we were greeted warmly and sat right away by the hostess. The waiter we had was pretty pleasant and polite as well. Cocktails 2/10 - The 1st issue was the cocktail ( old fashioned) we asked the waiter about, he said was pretty good ( it was one of the worst we have had anywhere) , they could prob elevate it by not using the bottom of the barrel liquor and better quality ingredients considering the price. Food 2/10 -Same could be said for the food as well. I ordered the sable fish dish, which was one of their pricier dishes at almost $40. I'm pescatarian and follow a pretty limited diet, I don't mind a steeper price if the fish/ seafood is good quality and cooked well, this was not. The fish dish was greasy and slick and slimy. The fish was decent quality, it had a minimal "fishy" smell to it but the handling/ cooking turned it into a greasy slime mess.. The waiter did not come by once during our main course service to check on the food or us. I ate about half the dish and that's all I could stomach, another busser took it away and asked if I wanted a box for the half plate of uneaten food, I said no thanks. The waiter came by once the plates were cleared and asked how the food was, I gave a polite but honest answer, he asked if I wanted something else on the menu "on the house" I said no, I was not up to try anything else, my stomach was sour and sloshy from trying to be a good sport and eat the greasy fish. The waiter applied a 50% discount on my fish dish , so I only had to pay 50% for a sour stomach the rest of the night. I have mixed feelings about this, comping expensive dishes can be very costly for small restaurants but it was also a very unpleasant dish. To be fair, I didn't ask for it to be taken off the bill. I think maybe he did what he could to make it right. The good. Service was pleasant. The beer was cold and crisp. The clam starter was pretty good. Will not be returning. read more
