Owning a small business myself, I know what it means to be valued by a customer. -BUT- Rather than running $50 total on the credit card machine, I get a $1.75 service charge slapped on it as well. This once again reminded me that no good deed goes unpunished. Future business of mine will be going to any of their other competitors. Upper management should reacquaint the new location's personnel with the finer points of transactional etiquette.

I knew at the time of purchase that the tires were fairly worn and was told by the pre-purchase inspection tech that I "should replace them before winter" (it was early spring). There was a nearby Discount Tire so I drove by and set up an appointment for the following day. I showed up for my appointment and the tech came out and inspected the nail and measured the wear on the other tires that had no nails. The Discount Tire employee took less than 30 seconds before he told me "they couldn't plug the tire and rambled off some DOT standard". I called another shop and they said "that sounds just like Discount, if it's in the top I can repair it." The other location (Big O Tire) had knowledgeable techs, was family owned, and gave me plenty of advice and fixed the tire for free. The tech at Big O said "they won't repair your tire but they will let you drive out of there with a nail stuck in your tire... which one seems more safe?" Not to mention, if it only took 30 seconds why in the world didn't they look when I was in the day before? In comparison the employees at Discount Tire seemed like minimum wage / teenagers who know little about cars and just serve the corporate bottom line. If at all possible forget Discount Tire exists. They aren't there to serve you.

So, when the Fort Morgan Humane Society was offered a free, but not-working van to transport dogs and cats, he offered to fix the van for free. Truly amazing! There were many mechanical issues with the van and it seemed as he repaired one problem another problem would pop up since the van was a 2013 Ford that was sitting in a parking lot for several years. He fixed everything! Now the Fort Morgan Humane Society has a "new" van to transport dogs and cats to the vet or to Front Range humane societies to help them find a new home when our shelter is full. This is invaluable for us. We are a small, rural, and always poor, humane society on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Steve, we are indebted to you! Thank you, thank you, and thank you! Woof! They got me right in with very little wait. Steve ground off all the rough, rusty obstructions and got my tire to seal without a leak (so far anyway). Then when I asked Steve how much I owed him, he said not a penny. I couldn't let this kindhearted man work for free so I forced $20 in his hand. I'm very pleased with my visit. So I began to put the spare tire on. With the leaking tire off, but the spare not on yet, the cheap POS jack that Jeep put into the Libertys decided to collapse. My wife goes over to Les Schwab to try and borrow another jack. A guy comes over with a jack and puts the spare on. Takes my Liberty over to the shop to repair the leak.
