Our last day at the park.
    Kate C.

Dr. Delia made an awful day less awful. The process was sad but could not have been more peaceful. Carlos drifted away as we cuddled him and just after slurping a puppucino: his *best thing, hands down. I was worried about having a stranger come to the house but Dr. Delia had just the right amount of calm and confidence to put everyone at ease. Nothing felt rushed or unexplained. I am not sentimental-nobody would hear me talking about "gaining wings" or "crossing the rainbow bridge." But Dr. Delia made a comment about how relieving one's pet from a painful and worn out body is an act of love. She was right. In the end, it felt like a mercy. My utmost gratitude to Dr. Delia. The service is pricey but worth the cost if you can swing it.

    Moka
    Cristina P.

We recently had to make the tough decision to help our Moka (GSD/Belgian Malinois), cross over the rainbow bridge Their services were recommended by a good friend of mine and I'm glad she did. From the moment we made the painful decision to the moment we saw her take her last breath, Lap of Love was there every step of the way. Dr. Dominique day of was very patient with us and ensure our 5 year old felt supported. We chose to have the procedure at home where Moka would be most comfortable and she would be surrounded by all the ones who loved her. Our son was not present for the procedure, but did get a chance to say his farewell. He had a cat brother cross the rainbow bridge 2 years ago so Moka is now in the moon shining down on us. He looks for the moon every night to say good bye. We got Moka home a day ago and nothing can make that empty feeling go away. Moka was my husband's service dog of 9 years. She traveled, experienced many things most dogs don't get to do. Her proudest moment, was to have a human brother. She welcomed him at the hospital hours after being born. Lap of Love, you've made this transition as easy as it can be. You showed care and love even when speaking with everyone over the phone. Thank you for your kindness and support during one of the most heartbreaking moments of our lives.

Lap of love supported me through the transition of my dear 13-year-old pug Sweet Pea. The appointment was easy to schedule. Dr. Matt Blanchong was caring, kind, and patient. You receive a paw print and a hair clipping. The book of resources is so helpful to navigate the grief process. It discusses the impact on the entire family. My other dog Debo is grieving also. I'm not sure if I'm reviewing the Lap of Love that helped me, but I'll just review the one with fewest reviews to help. Our cat had a 2-3 week meteoric decline and although we spent 7000$ at one ER Vet and the UC Davis pet hospital, we got to take him home for a weekend of short improvement followed by him getting much worse and us never knowing what was wrong with him other than this was the end. Called Laps of Love East Bay (that was the first google result) and cried on the phone with the lady who helped me make the appointment for the following morning with Dr. Matt. We asked Dr. Matt if he had seen anything like what our cat was going through and he did a short evaluation and looked over our report from UC Davis. He, like us, was surprised everything was almost normal in all the diagnostics, but the appearances and aggressiveness of the poor cat's state screamed cancer. He was caring and patient and talked us through the 2 injection process, and before giving cat the second injection (which goes in the kidney) he said one of the kidneys was much larger than the other, which was by far the most useful clinical sign we had gotten out of the whole last week of our cat's life. Maybe it was lymphoma in the kidney or somewhere else but we don't know. What we do know is that at least kitty is not in pain anymore. We paid for the private cremation of our little friend and while we're unsure of what to do with the ashes at least he's back home with us with a display case with his collar, Pawprint and some pictures. We are still randomly crying about it 3 weeks later, but are grateful at least we didn't have to stress out a dying cat by dragging him to the vet again, after we had him poked and prodded with 7000$ worth of needles hoping that this was not the end. Doctor also left us a booklet of resources like counseling if this turns out to be harder than we thought.

    We say goodbye to Rocky

It's so difficult when you make the decision to let your pet move on. And to have a compassionate vet come to your home and guide you lovingly through it is just a gift. Dr. Dianicia Kirton of Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice couldn't have been more healing during such a sad time. If I could give her more stars, I would. On the other hand please check out my review for Compassion Vet Hospice -- if there were minus stars I would do that. Choose Lap of Love Veterinary Service.

A lovely service provided to take care of our dear loving, goofy, hairy friend of 14-years. In-home service was far better than dragging the sick in-firm pet to the vet. The people on the phone were very caring and considerate. The vet who came to the house explained everything in detail. If you have this need, call these folks.

Our lovely Breena in her Happy Place in the Anderson Valley

I recently recommended Lap of Love and I was prompted to look at Yelp Reviews. I neglected to write one after we had to release our 14 year old standard poodle in 2021. I prefer the term "release" because it is setting them free from their pain. Dr. Dianicis could not have been lovelier to us, as well as the people who took my call and made arrangements. I suppose she was used to having someone choking back the tears. Dr. Dianicis made a clay impression of Breena's paw and asked if we wanted a clipping of her hair...which we did. Her ashes came back in a lovely box with her name inscribed on a plate. It also came with a certificate and her paw print. Our other standard poodle will turn 14 in August and while she is still extremely healthy...we know her time will be up within a couple of years. We will not hesitate to call Lap of Love again.

Everyone whose pet was stable was seen in order, which took some time because while we were there they got 2 different animals who required emergency treatment and were immediately rushed back. While we were waiting the staff chatted with us and generally made us feel really welcome. The vet was very clear and understanding about what was going on with our dog and we left with the right treatment and medicines. She is now feeling much better.

Within his less than two years of life, he's been to the ER for the same symptoms four times. Three were at PETs. We chose to bring him here because of our past experience with our girls. For his care here, the vets were evasive and push incredible expensive diagnostic that didn't actually solve the issue. Every single time they just gave him pain meds after blood work and radiology showed nothing wrong. We didn't want to say anything, but Dr. Peterson seemed to be on a stimulant or some kind of meds while she spoke to us. She kept repeating the same questions over and over after we answered them and was talking a mile a minute and continously interrupting us. It was jarring. She wouldn't refer us to a specialist or internal medicine unless we wanted to pay even more. This is very predatory. Thankfully, we brought him to another facility for the same situation when we couldn't make it to PETs. After gathering records from that office and PETS, this facility called me and sent me a list of internal medicine practices I could take my cat to. They did this without forcing us to come in or saying they couldn't do it unless we did more procedures. They got back to me the same day with his records. This is a stark difference from how we were treated at PETs. PETs didn't send his records for several days. They spelled my name wrong several times after asking me multiple times how to spell it and continued to say they could help us further unless we wanted to pay more. They have become a money-grabbing predatory practice. And I can only say this with confidence because of the stark difference on how we were treated at PETs vs the other facility.
