Lao pho noodle soup

My first time trying Lao Thia, and I ordered the Lao pho. Where has this place been all my life?! Apparently, it's been here in Lowell for a few years already, and somehow I've never been here. The Lao pho was seriously delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly, not too soft, not too firm, with just the right bite. The beef was tender, and the broth was the star for me. It was rich, savory, and deeply flavorful, with that slow-cooked taste where you can tell the broth had time to develop. It had a nice depth without being overly salty or heavy, and every spoonful tasted comforting and homemade. Compared to some of the other local noodle spots, where the broth can taste flat or like it's just being made to get another bowl out the door, this was completely different. You can taste the care that goes into the food here. It genuinely tastes home-cooked, like something someone took pride in making. This is officially my go-to spot for noodles from this day forward. I can't believe it took me this long to find this place!

Have had this place so many times, it's always a good spot for my siblings and I to go to. The workers here are nice and helpful. We sometimes bring my nephew who can be quite loud but it's never an issue as the restaurant is definitely one that you can be comfortable in, there's always people eating lunch and having a good time. The environment definitely feels like a casual Asian restaurant. One thing we stand by the chicken feet. It is a must eat every time, it's crispy and juicy with a good amount of spice although I am good at spice, my sister does need breaks inbetween to handle it. As an appetizer, it does take a little longer for them to make but it's worth it. Other appetizers they have are thai sausage, this is very juicy and oily. The flavor is nice but the sauce didn't add much to it due to how fatty it is. The spicy chicken wings here are also good you can never go wrong with chicken wings. I've only had the tom yum shrimp for soup, it had a good tom yum flavor but more on the small side for being $7 but enjoyable. For the papaya salad it's pretty spicy and has a lot of juice although sometimes the papaya itself has a sweetness to it. So think of having ur mouth on fire while having a ting of sweetness. I do wish it was a little more sour and less fishy but they usually provide a lime on the side to balance. The beef laab here is delicious, this has a stronger flavor and is more sour but the ratio for the cilantro/veggies to beef is a little more than I wish it was. The drunken noodles here were decent nothing special to order. For the curry soups they are more on the soupy side meaning it's pretty watery not thick at all, only have tried the red and green flavor though. Most of the dishes you're able to choose a level of spice and so if you can't handle it you can't get "Wimpy" level . They don't take Amex here but Discover is taken. Would recommend for lunch with some friends to share dishes with!

Food was delicious and super fresh...loved the friendly atmosphere. The owner Chris and his buddy were very welcoming. First time here and it definitely won't be the last.

If I'm too lazy to drive to Dracut to eat at Lanxang, I drive to Laos Thai Kitchen to eat Lao style papaya salad. We got a bunch of food because we are hungry hungry hippos (6 of us). We got crab Rangoon, chicken wings, tapioca balls, papaya salad (3 star spice), crispy ladna, Lao sausages, and something else I forgot. We would've ordered more but there was no more room on the table LOL. The sausages were nice and sweet and savory, the crab Rangoon was cheesy and sweet, the thum makhong was spicy and good. Loveddddd the tapioca balls because they were piping hot so it just melted in my mouth and tastes so good with the dipping sauce. Definitely come here for Lao food.

New favorite pho spot--and yes, the drive to Lowell is 1000% worth it. Menu has plenty of food options while keeping it classic and simple. Only two options for pho--chicken pho and beef meatball pho. I have been told the beef meatball pho is the reason to come here. I will have to try it next time--my friend got it and I tried the broth and can definitely say it had that old-school taste that I've been longing for in beef pho broths and can't find anymore. Salt and pepper fried chicken feet were so crunchy and bomb; perfect snack to go with a beer. Oh, and this place is BYOB! What's not to love?

Cozy atmosphere with friendly service. The combination of the papaya salad, chicken wings, and sticky rice showcased the restaurant's ability to deliver authentic Lao Thai flavors. My favorite was the Pad Thai. Just the right amount of sweetness. I love that they had fried garlic and chili oil available at the table. Thanks again for a wonderful meal!

What a great alternative to Lanxang and Thantawan. Food was good. Ordered Nam Kao and Drunken Noodles. Good but disappointingly NOT spicy, even though we ordered 6 peppers out of 6. Thai spicy is supposedly 4 peppers. Next time I'll need to ask differently. They must have said "oh yeah, he's a white guy he doesn't eat spicy. He said 6 peppers, let's give him 1". No "customer service fee", no "takeout fee", no "we hate you coming here to give us your money" fee, unlike Pho Dalat, Pho 88 and others recently.... Street metered parking only. Bleh... But free after 6pm, free on Sundays.

Fiyaaaaahhhh. FINALLY. Some authentic Thai and Lao food. It has been a while since I've scored on some really good Southeast Asian cooking. I was In Massachusetts a year ago and could not find this level of quality in food. But, my fam who all lives there refused to leave me disappointed so they coordinated a dinner here the day I arrived. Our party of 7 ordered the following: * Chicken Wings * Papaya Salad * Tom Yum Soup * Sticky Rice and Jasmine Rice * Tilapia * Chicken Larb * Crab Rangoon Since our group was larger, we ordered 2 or 3 of everything and it was SO good. I absolutely fell in love with the papaya salad and chicken wings. There is a spicy tomato dipping sauce (jeow) that you can ask for and it makes all the difference in the world when eating chicken or fish. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and our group enjoyed every bite over good conversation. I even went back two more times after that dinner for takeout. I'm a lifelong fan! I'll be back in Lowell again and this will be the first stop I make once I'm back in town. For locals, y'all already know about this place. Their reputation already speaks for itself. For visitors and those passing through, this is a must stop. You won't be disappointed! Enjoy the photos attached to this review.

Tom Yum Soup. This was no joke, seriously good!

What a find this place was! Purely by accident because parking was a bear, we took the first place we could find and the rest was culinary bliss history as we landed on their front door step searching for a different restaurant. From the Tom Yum to the Penang curry, each item was prepared beautifully with lots of fresh vegetables; deep full flavors with just the right amount of heat in each dish. This restaurant only has about 25 seats; is frequented mostly by the local Asian community and as you might expect is quite busy for good reason. Don't miss this little hidden restaurant gem!!!

Fried chicken feet - a lot!! Spicy, garlicky, and salty.

Inside, it's very cozy and has that Chinese cafe feel. It's clean, and they also have outdoor seating. My favorite are the individual window seats. I like sitting there and people-watching, though it's not exactly the busiest area for people-watching. Soup dumplings? Yes, please. The skin is slightly thicker than the ones I've had in New York, though they're still great. I never just order one thing here. They have a lot of variety with Chinese appetizers, dumplings, noodles, rice, and even mala hot pot. Do not pass up the braised pork rice bowl if you like hearty, authentic Asian dishes. I keep forgetting this place is here until the weather gets colder or I'm craving dumplings. Overall Service: Always so nice. There was one time I was on-call while dining here and got paged, and they helped box everything up for me to take home. I really appreciated that. Definitely a place I'm glad to have in the area.

I didn't leave the establishment because I was with others who wanted to enjoy the food. The first issue was we couldn't seat where we wanted, it had to be where the waitress or manager decided we were to seat. Not one client in the restaurant. Then she brought the bill before we requested no one was waiting to be seated, then refused to split the bill when previous times with a different server was not a problem. We split the bill to only 2 because thats all she could do, me paying for 4 people she denies my tip amount and says if I don't tip a 18% , theywill charge me $80 extra for a party of 6, again we were only 4 people. I am very disappointed with my service and treatment, unfortunately I don't know the server name but she is one that speaks more English. Will I go back and be bullied into tipping what they want? Probably no.

Loved the salads / apps we got including the tapioca balls stuff with pork and peanuts and the crispy rice salad with chopped Lao sausage. Good filling to wrap ratio, real crab meat used! I would order those Everytime. If you like the sweeter style filling this isn't it. Laarb seen, was alright the beef and the flavors were as expected but not memorable for me, the protein portion was a bit light for our dish. Kowpoon noodle soup, flavor was on point almost like a Bun Mam. The noodles for us missed the mark, the lady ended up scrapping the noodles on a spare plate. I didn't care for it either. Didn't have good chew, felt overcooked and soggy by time we got it. Beef padsee ew! Yes yes! Great dish, nice noodles, good brown sauce and beef was tender! Ice tea was creamy, you can taste the Thai tea still it wasn't overshadowed by heavy sweeteners. Nice spot, good prices, big menu. Will have to try other dishes next time around!

The Tofu Bun may have been the best I've had. The Cauliflower was deliscious, but ask for a fork for the dismantling process if you aren't a chopsticks pro.
