Pretty good dry hot pot! I have only ever had it at other food courts and I will say this one was probably my favorite. Good amount of spice and extremely savory. Definitely must have with a bowl of rice. Service was quick given it was lunch hour. Also extremely filling so it's best to share it with some friends.

Thanks to Yelp friend Henry M. for clarifying the location and description of this place. I've considered getting food here a few times when I've been inside of the Golden Dungeon but usually opted for Xian and Tian Jin dumplings in the past. Came here a few weekends ago to try the Malatang. The place is towards the back of the lower level of the Golden Dungeon and I was brought to the more spacious and air conditioned eating area in the back when my food came out, which was appreciated. I got the beef version ($8) with medium level spiciness. It looked really good and the experience started out great. The noodles had a nice texture because I ate them first before they got soggy in the broth. The broth was ultra spicy but had good flavor when I sipped on spoonfuls of it. I definitely went through like the whole pile of napkins for my cleared sinuses. The experience started to sour though as I kept eating. I don't have the best spicy tolerance and the spice level became overwhelming to the point where it wasn't enjoyable anymore. The beef was tough and overcooked. And there weren't that many items in the bowl that were that great besides the wood ear mushrooms and tofu. I ended up throwing a good portion of it out. I think most people would probably enjoy the Malatang more than I did but I don't feel the need to get it again. I think $8 is a decently fair price for the amount of food you get. Just didn't float my boat. I'll stick to the Lan Zhou noodles, Tian Jin dumpling, and Lamb Noodle Soup places for the time being. Glad there are a bunch of places to try in the Golden Dungeon.

Great Asian food and nice service. I had stir fry veggie and sea food. It's delicious but too spicy.

Some of the best Malatang you can get around the area. The customer service is awful, though.

Warning to all with a pineapple allergy like me: do not eat the duck sauce. If you like spicy ask for hot mustard instead. Orange chicken was crispy and flavorful. I did not find it spicy, but my spice tolerance is very high. My fiance had the chicken with broccoli and it looked amazing. Try the cold noodles. They are chewy and delicious. For me the fried dumplings were good, but not great. Worth a try but nothing to rave over.

I ordered the cured pork with garlic shoots and dry fried green beans. The cured pork was quite salty, and paired well with the buttery, tender leeks it was cooked with. The dish was not overly oily, and was pleasant over white rice. I enjoyed the chewiness of the pork which allowed you to experience the complex flavor. The green beans were well fried, with characteristic texture signature to this dish. The seasoning was very well balanced and not overpowering to the natural sweetness of the green beans. I would recommend either dish. They were both slightly toned down iterations when compared to the times I've eaten these dishes at other Sichuan restaurants in flushing, but still well seasoned and well cooked. The service was very warm and friendly, and many other customers seemed to be returning regulars.

When the…read morewaitress presented me with the ipad for the tip she had already preselected the lowest amount. I don't care, I tap no tip and apologize. She just barked at me "No! Tip not included!" and presses the tip amount for me again. I ask her "Oh, are tips obligatory?". At this point I definitely didn't want to give a tip anymore. She just shouts the same thing at me again. I press no tip again, sign my signature and when I go to press confirm she presses the tip amount right before I confirm. She essentially just forced me into giving her a tip with her slight of hand, maybe hoping I wouldn't have noticed. I say "Oh really? Well, I guess we'll never see each other again." She just turns around and shrugs her shoulders. I was absolutely shocked. To top it off: Really bad food. Tiny bowl of noodles with three sad little leaves of bokchoy.

After walking around for 30 minutes...looking at chicken - American, Korean; burgers -premium, non-premium; sushi; and ramen nothing was appealing to me. After asking if the restaurant accepts credit card, they said yes. If they didn't, I would have had to find a bank and probably left since I didn't want to walk anymore. They gave me a cold glass of water, which I quickly drank since I didn't know I was dehydrated. She refilled my glass while I perused the menu. Thank you so much! Finally saw beef and tomato broth which would be great for a cold day. Ordered and it came very quickly. This hit the spot without me knowing that this is what I wanted. Warm, cozy, meat vegetable and noodles... the pretext meal. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Always great food especially when you don't know what you want to eat sometimes.

I've gone through numerous other restaurants trying to find the flavor and consistency that I like and they've hit the mark everytime when it comes to shrimp rolls and shrimp fried rice. I have not ordered my standard shrimp broccoli with rice yet but I will and then I'll update my review. The staff seems nice enough. The woman at the counter who takes the order is cordial and efficient. The food is ready on time and still piping hot when I get the containers home and you only have to order $8 worth of food to score delivery. The inside of the restaurant itself is clean and there are tables to wait at or dine in if you wanted to.
