Pretty good dry hot pot! I have only ever had it at other food courts and I will say this one was probably my favorite. Good amount of spice and extremely savory. Definitely must have with a bowl of rice. Service was quick given it was lunch hour. Also extremely filling so it's best to share it with some friends.

Great Asian food and nice service. I had stir fry veggie and sea food. It's delicious but too spicy.

Thanks to Yelp friend Henry M. for clarifying the location and description of this place. I've considered getting food here a few times when I've been inside of the Golden Dungeon but usually opted for Xian and Tian Jin dumplings in the past. Came here a few weekends ago to try the Malatang. The place is towards the back of the lower level of the Golden Dungeon and I was brought to the more spacious and air conditioned eating area in the back when my food came out, which was appreciated. I got the beef version ($8) with medium level spiciness. It looked really good and the experience started out great. The noodles had a nice texture because I ate them first before they got soggy in the broth. The broth was ultra spicy but had good flavor when I sipped on spoonfuls of it. I definitely went through like the whole pile of napkins for my cleared sinuses. The experience started to sour though as I kept eating. I don't have the best spicy tolerance and the spice level became overwhelming to the point where it wasn't enjoyable anymore. The beef was tough and overcooked. And there weren't that many items in the bowl that were that great besides the wood ear mushrooms and tofu. I ended up throwing a good portion of it out. I think most people would probably enjoy the Malatang more than I did but I don't feel the need to get it again. I think $8 is a decently fair price for the amount of food you get. Just didn't float my boat. I'll stick to the Lan Zhou noodles, Tian Jin dumpling, and Lamb Noodle Soup places for the time being. Glad there are a bunch of places to try in the Golden Dungeon.

Some of the best Malatang you can get around the area. The customer service is awful, though.

I ordered the cured pork with garlic shoots and dry fried green beans. The cured pork was quite salty, and paired well with the buttery, tender leeks it was cooked with. The dish was not overly oily, and was pleasant over white rice. I enjoyed the chewiness of the pork which allowed you to experience the complex flavor. The green beans were well fried, with characteristic texture signature to this dish. The seasoning was very well balanced and not overpowering to the natural sweetness of the green beans. I would recommend either dish. They were both slightly toned down iterations when compared to the times I've eaten these dishes at other Sichuan restaurants in flushing, but still well seasoned and well cooked. The service was very warm and friendly, and many other customers seemed to be returning regulars.

Warning to all with a pineapple allergy like me: do not eat the duck sauce. If you like spicy ask for hot mustard instead. Orange chicken was crispy and flavorful. I did not find it spicy, but my spice tolerance is very high. My fiance had the chicken with broccoli and it looked amazing. Try the cold noodles. They are chewy and delicious. For me the fried dumplings were good, but not great. Worth a try but nothing to rave over.

I went here for a group gathering/lunch and lemme tell you guys this place is so good. The noodles were crispy and fresh. Eggplant was spicy but not too spicy in fact it was very crispy and pretty ok and I take dumplings very serious and lemme say they're good but a bit salty and soft. This was relatively satisfying experience a bit on the expensive side but the staff are incredibly nice always checking on us to see if we needed anything else or wanted for food and tea. Great staff and the ambiance is relatively relaxing very interesting. BUT BUT BUT HALT the downside is a bit too much MSG in the food Haiyahh!!!. My mouth felt dry after and was very thirsty but overall still decent. But I may have to reconsider going there again tho...

After walking around for 30 minutes...looking at chicken - American, Korean; burgers -premium, non-premium; sushi; and ramen nothing was appealing to me. After asking if the restaurant accepts credit card, they said yes. If they didn't, I would have had to find a bank and probably left since I didn't want to walk anymore. They gave me a cold glass of water, which I quickly drank since I didn't know I was dehydrated. She refilled my glass while I perused the menu. Thank you so much! Finally saw beef and tomato broth which would be great for a cold day. Ordered and it came very quickly. This hit the spot without me knowing that this is what I wanted. Warm, cozy, meat vegetable and noodles... the pretext meal. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Always great food especially when you don't know what you want to eat sometimes.

Nanking - A Perfect Spot for Layovers (or Locals)!…read more When my in-laws had a long layover at JFK, we decided to meet them for dinner, and Nanking turned out to be a fantastic choice. As a Brooklyn local, I hadn't explored many restaurants near JFK, and found slim pickings for Chinese or Thai food by the airport. First off, the ambiance is good--booth seating along the walls and a welcoming, authentic vibe. I was a bit skeptical at first about the large menu (Indian, Thai, and Chinese?!) because that's often a red flag. But, spoiler alert: Nanking proved me wrong! What we ordered: * Navaratan Korma: Super fresh veggies, rich and flavorful. As someone who makes this at home, I was impressed! * Lamb Korma: Delicious, tender, and full of depth. * Naan: A little thinner than usual but still tasty, especially paired with the curries. * Hot and Sour Soup: the in-laws finished their bowl. * Fish Curry: when my FIL ordered this we had a mini-panic that it wouldn't be fresh given the large menu and not apparent seafood focus -- bad fish ahead of a international flight seems worth avoiding at all costs -- but our server was quick and confident with her assertion the fish was fresh and I stood corrected! FIL reported back that it was flavorful, fresh and not overly creamy. * Butter Chicken: A weekly favorite of a diner sitting near us who gave it high praise, and the MIL reported she was right. (Her tip: Pair it with garlic naan--A+ advice!) The drink deals were great, and the prices overall were super reasonable. The only downside was the timing--our food took about 30 minutes, and the drinks were slow too. But with a party of 20 arriving at the same time as us, it's understandable. (And kudos to the menu for being upfront: "Let us know if you're in a hurry.") In short, Nanking is a gem for anyone looking for authentic flavors near JFK. My in-laws left happy, and if the situation presents itself again well definitely be back.

At week's end for a very weary Saturday, I could not move my body to get out to attain brunch but decided to give delivery the o' college try. Food does not contain any substance. Nanking had the audacity to inquire why I want to cancel my second separate delivery order. It was created in error! Grubhub automatically include: tax, tip, delivery fee, and service fee. I called Nanking to cancel this chicken Manchurian order who instructed me to directly contact Grubhub for cancelling because Nanking has no ability to cancel as this order originated from Grubhub. Delivery was approximately 45 minutes eternal wait timeline. I have no plans for a return delivery order nor a in-person visit dining experience. Oh, hell NO!! Steamed shrimp dumplings, haa1 gaau2 蝦餃, $10.99 These dumplings were average and was accompanied with excessive high sodium content soy sauce to raise high blood pressure increasing the risk of heart disease and possibly stroke. Vegetable noodle soup $7.50 Very minimal noodles content but heavy concentration of vegetables. It was heavily swimming in clear broth. The broth was not salty. This noodle soup does not contain any substance. Bye, Felicia!
