We ordered the yellow curry, a noodle dish, pho, and the coconut custard for dessert. Every single dish was delicious. Some had a nice kick to them--but the kind of spice that keeps you going back for another bite rather than overwhelming the flavors. As an added bonus, the view from the window is absolutely stunning, with Mount Shasta in all its glory. If you're driving along I-5, this is a fantastic stop in Weed, CA. My family stopped in Weed and decided to give this restaurant a try since it was walking distance from where we were staying and reviews were good. We ordered the pad Thai, yellow chicken curry, papaya salad, and an avocado smoothie. I saw from pics from other reviewers and it seems they just skipped other ingredients and brought out a plain dish of papaya salad with a side of cabbage, no herbs or anything else. The pad Thai was on the sweet side and was just ok. The curry lacked flavor and appeared to be watered down. The smoothie was more liquid, expected to be thicker. Total price for three dish and smoothie, almost $80 and some change. So very pricey for amount of food provided and lack of taste. read more

Well well , so this has happened that my hubby and I lost our track and path and we found ourselves in this cozy , lowkey restaurant. Food is fresh , enough for 2 hungry individuals. I am not the PHO lover, but since it was just a try , I really loved the taste of broth which has cooked with Tiny slices of beef. Soup had rice noodles and nicely cooked. Wonderful little Lao restaurant! I was so happy to find this place while visiting Weed. Much like a typical mom and pop place with a nice selection of traditional Lao food, and authentic. I loved the pungent spicy papaya salad with pickled crab-not something I have every day and so yummy. The sticky rice was warm and fragrant. The angus steak was also delicious served with sweet and spicy sauce. I will definitely have to visit again and try other dishes. The mok pa (steamed catfish) is also a favorite. The sausage is also good however could use a little more flavor- just my preference though!The service is very friendly and chatty. If you like authentic Laos food give this place a try. read more

Babaji led me to eat at this place. I had their spring rolls. This was perhaps back in October of 2025. I could see right across the street where the Black Butte Saloon recently burnt down. I would love to go back to there again, but transportation challenges, make it hard for me to get to Weed and back home. I also have food allergies that make it harder to navigate Asian restaurants. I recently tried this spot and had a pretty good experience overall. The pho was very good--flavorful broth with authentic Vietnamese flavors that really hit the spot. However, for the price, I would have liked to see more variety in the meat cuts offered. That being said, the Lao Papaya Salad with fresh crab stole the show! The freshness and flavors were spot on. The Kang was also delicious and comforting, as was the Laab--though the meat in the Laab was a bit strange. It didn't really taste like beef, chicken, or pork; it had a different flavor that I couldn't quite place. It was also a little underseasoned, but nothing a dash of fish sauce couldn't fix. Great Asian food. In a little town just off I-5! Who knew? Lots of parking on Main Street. We tow a 23' trailer, so don't worry about driving or towing an RV into Weed. We are looking forward to stopping in again when we are driving north or south on I-5. The owner took our order and was very friendly. This is a cute little place with friendly staff, but the pho was sub par. The broth was very light and not fragrant and was a 3.5 out of 10. The noodles were fine and abundant, but the beef was extremely tough and 60 to 70% inedible, chewy, stiff fat. I have no idea what cut of meat they used, but it was definitely not eye of round. They other items on the menu looked good and I would give them a try next time, but I'm avoiding the pho from here. read more

My bf and I split the beef pho and it was a huge portion with a whole rib of meat in it he gnawed on. side of Thai basil and chili, I got a bowl to split it and it was enough to fill up both of us with broth to spare. Got the mango sticky rice, forgot to take a photo until half way through the process of my bf inhaling it. Very good, the server was friendly and quick. The negative reviews were not our experience. I have been here twice now within one week with two different folks. We have all had different food and all of it was lovely. Pho, dumplings, pork belly, spring rolls, pad Thai and red pork fried rice (I asked for spicy and he brought me a cup for chili fire!). The folks are really nice, got to spend some time with the chef owner and she is trying to source as much of the ingredients as possible from local farmers - she has beef and some veg. :) It is cafe style. We stopped here a few weeks ago en route back to the Bay Area from Oregon. Echoing many of the other reviewers, who knew there existed authentic Lao home cooking in Weed, CA! And it was exactly the warm and savory hug we needed on that dark and chilly Sunday evening. We ordered yellow curry and steamed fish. The curry was a notch less spicy than Thai curry, but very flavorful nonetheless. Loved the presentation - they had the option of ordering noodles with curry instead of the usual rice only at Thai restaurants - so it came out like a noodle soup with fresh tofu and veggies. The steamed fish was tender and seasoned with ginger and spices, and it had a rustic-ness that shouted "home cooking." Which makes sense, as the owners are a mom & pop who clearly place love into their cooking and it shows. Pop was so kind as he greeted and served us while Mom cooked in the back. Will definitely return on our next trek up or down I-5 in far northern CA. read more
