Wonderful little Lao restaurant! I was so happy to find this place while visiting Weed. Much like a typical mom and pop place with a nice selection of traditional Lao food, and authentic. I loved the pungent spicy papaya salad with pickled crab-not something I have every day and so yummy. The sticky rice was warm and fragrant. The angus steak was also delicious served with sweet and spicy sauce. I will definitely have to visit again and try other dishes. The mok pa (steamed catfish) is also a favorite. The sausage is also good however could use a little more flavor- just my preference though! The service is very friendly and chatty. If you like authentic Laos food give this place a try.

Holy SMOKES!!! Incredible food in Weed CA! I must say, truly some of the best Thai/Laotian I've EVER had. BBQed fried rice, pot stickers, yellow curry, vermicelli chicken soup... all sublime! Can't wait to return and eat my way through the rest of their spectacular menu. OH, and the positive energy and happy, friendly, helpful service was also 5 stars (really 10 stars) Wow... just WOW

Stop searching and drive to this nice little restaurant nestled in the town of Weed. The establishment offers a diverse selection of exceptional dishes. We started with the pot stickers, which were delectable and fried to perfection. The tri tip was amazing (highly recommend)! We also had a small bowl of broth with added shiitake mushrooms; the broth was masterfully spiced, unlike any other. The service is the best you'll ever receive. They are highly informed about the menu and ingredients. If lucky, you may meet Chef Phet and her husband. They are remarkable individuals who have crafted an outstanding dining experience.

Super cute Lao restaurant that you don't want to miss if you're driving through, visiting or living in Weed County. Food was delicious and the owner was really friendly. The restaurant itself was newly furnished with modern touches, yet still had an authentic feel with uniquely Lao deco touches. Prices are a little higher than Lao restaurants I've been to in the Bay Area, but still not too bad with most main dishes being under $20. Will definitely go back!

First visit to this lovely little restaurant! We both had Yellow Curry with chicken and sticky rice. It was a little different than other yellow curry that I have had at Thai restaurants, but it was delicious. We also had the Chicken Potsticker special and of course Mango & sticky purple rice! Yum!

Really good! My bf and I split the beef pho and it was a huge portion with a whole rib of meat in it he gnawed on. side of Thai basil and chili, I got a bowl to split it and it was enough to fill up both of us with broth to spare. Got the mango sticky rice, forgot to take a photo until half way through the process of my bf inhaling it. Very good, the server was friendly and quick. Light music and a clean bathroom was a plus for our road trip stop. Def recommend!

GPS was programmed for a different place but we ended up here. At first glance there's not much to look inside the restaurant. At the time, the place was empty. We were the only customers. It would be a three star rating just by looking. You have to question, is this a restaurant and is it open? We were greeted by the owner/chef/server/greeter! A one man operation. Very friendly, personable and knowledgeable chef. A cool dude. I give this place a five star because of the food and the one man staff. The BBQ was spot on delicious. The Pork Spareribs (1 rack) with 2 rice plate (for two people) was juicy and full of flavorful smoke and Thai influences. The Three Smoked Meat rice plate was also delicious. The smoking and Bbq are done using wood. No charcoal or gas. You can really taste the natural wood smoke flavor in every bite. I'm glad we found Asian American BBQ by accident, I'm also glade it was not his usual rush hour time when we arrived! This place is a classic cliche phrase "don't judge a book by its cover." If ever we are back in Weed, CA, we're definitely be back!

There's a small open sign lit on the side but it's easy to miss that too. What gives it away is the number of barbecue grills in front and the smoke coming out of it. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, this won't be for you. If you're looking for great barbecue, then you're in for a treat! The owner, Thomas is the only one working there and doing everything! We didn't have to wait because we came at an odd time after lunch and not the rush hour. He is very friendly and accommodating. He definitely knows what he's doing! The restaurant needs a little bit of organizing. He has a lit signage inside the restaurant so I suggested for him to move it outside to attract more customers. He said the food will do all the talking and marketing for the restaurant. I agree 100 percent! He has a lot of locals ordering from him. He goes by word of mouth. We stopped by for a late lunch on our way to Oregon. Coming back, we stopped by again to get some barbecue to take home. Totally worth it!

The food is…read moreconsistently excellent--fresh, flavorful, and full of that authentic Thai taste without feeling heavy. We love how they emphasize healthier preparations while still delivering bold spices and perfect balance in every dish. Favorites include the Pad Thai, Panang curry, and anything with their fresh veggies and proteins. Portions are impressively large--you'll definitely have leftovers, which is a huge bonus for the price. The service is always warm and friendly; the staff remembers regulars and is happy to adjust spice levels or accommodate dietary needs. That said, be prepared for a wait, especially during peak hours or weekends. They make everything to order, which shows in the quality, but it can mean 20-40 minutes (or more) depending on how busy they are. Trust me, though--it's absolutely worth it. The cozy little spot fills up fast for good reason. If you're in the area craving real Thai food that's healthy and satisfying, don't skip Andaman. Highly recommend!

When i went to pay , i was told there would be an additional 30 cents charge for orders under $5 if I used a card. Don't usually carry cash so this was a bit disappointing. Luckily I had enough cash. It should be noted that most card collectors companies make the additional charges for small purchases a conflict with their agreement! The second thing that was extremely disappointing was the thai tea! It was awful . If coconut milk was added it didn't taste like it at all! I added coconut milk myself, but the tea wasn't very good . This was my first time trying out this restaurant. I find if the thai tea is good , the food tends to be delicious. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There is another Thai restaurant in town which I will continue to recommend and patronize.

The prices are very expensive compared to greater Sacramento area, then again perhaps it's because there's real competition in Redding for Vietnamese food. I was pretty surprised at checkout to see no computer of any kind. Wrote up my check using an old fashioned paper receipt calculator from the 90's.

The ambiance is very simple and comfortable. We will absolutely be back.
