A lady greeted us and made her way to us after we walked around. She assisted us with our questions. Prices are high but that's what we were expecting anyways when deciding to buy new furniture instead of used. This was our first stop and decided on one sectional couch set but decided to look elsewhere to see other options. There is a $150 delivery fee. Anywhos, we did not come back as we've found a better set somewhere else. They have some great furniture sets, some comfortable others very firm.

Prior to leaving though, I took photos of some things we were interested in. Fast forward to 2 weeks later... Came to this location inside of Pearlridge. Definitely a lot smaller and a lot less selection BUT Douglas came to greet us in less than a minute and told us if we needed any help to let him know. He didn't follow us around the store and try to sell us furniture we weren't interested in. He is definitely our dream sales person because I honestly dislike being followed around. Anyways, I walked around for a bit and didn't see the media center I wanted to purchase so I showed him the photo I took from the Honolulu location. He looked it up on the computer and said they only had 2 left. Told him I'd like to purchase now. We were done with the entire transaction in less than 5 minutes! Super easy. It was extremely difficult not to purchase everything I had initially wanted but our home is still being built and the completion date keeps getting pushed back so my husband and I are buying smaller items which we have room to store. When our home is complete, we will definitely be back to see Douglas!

I purchased a dining room table with chairs (Kapolei) and a very large and heavy teak root console (Honolulu) for a combined delivery. They arrived on time. Sione confirmed were in the house I wanted the items placed. I was very concerned that my new vinyl flooring was not damaged as the teak root was extremely heavy. They did a great job, very courteous, and made sure the piece was centered to the wall. Too bad the lady who called in the morning of the delivery had a "sour" attitude. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5-star rating.

I've purchased several items at INspiration on Kapiolani but since I was in the area for other reasons I though why not give this locations peek since they do have lots of options for all types of furnishings. Obviously located in Kapolei Commons which is amazing as there's lots of free parking options you can find them all the way at the end after Target near the theater which is nice that we didn't have to fight to find a stall as it can get quite busy in that part of the shopping center. Walking into the spacious showcase floor we were greeted by a staff to a point that we didn't need any assistance at the moment as we started to look for a chair...yup just a simple single chair which sounds easier than done we came here knowing that they do have a great selection to choose from and found prices from $79 to $499 for a single chair lol! All the way in the back there is a section that they consider the "outlet" prices which looked the same as the rest of the prices so it didn't seem like it was a discount as one was a floor model that should be the obvious discounted price to offer but didn't find anything in that section. With that we did find a chair that fit all the boxes that we were looking for and found the sales staff to finalize the sale and as she did her thing we paid and was given the chair as I asked if they had it in stock to the answer she replied yes they did..yay! She walked over and gave us the chair from the floor...and said this was it? To her defense it was New Year Day and the warehouse was closed BUT didn't confirm that if the floor model would be okay and still sold it to us at full price...she thought that we didn't mind. I didn't appreciate the lack of communication but took it anyways paid and got our paperwork to which we walked out the door quite disappointed to which she chased us down later cause she need the tag that was attached to it lol, then came back again for the paperwork to confirm we got the item...not impressed with the professionalism and communication as it all was very basic yet done so poorly for just a chair thankfully it wasn't a whole set of furniture.

Advertised as up to 70% off. We could not find a dresser that was deeply discounted in that way. Nor were there any style of dressers we liked that were in stock AND under $1000 (except one that looked like a mountain person build it behind the barn. Someone is into that look). My salesperson coached me to photo the SKU of anything we liked so they could check stock. When we finally found something we liked that was in stock, we paid and set the delivery. This piece of furniture looks great. I really wanted to spend $800 but for $1300 we got a well built, mid-century modern-ish dresser that should last 20+ years. And it is not something we had to build (looking at you City Mill). The day before delivery we realized we never got the text to inform us of the scheduled window. Called the store and and discovered it hadn't been scheduled. Our sales person was in the store and they got on the phone with me to reschedule. They were sincerely apologetic. A couple days later we received a thank you card in the mail. The process isn't easy because furniture is so expensive. And most of it takes months to arrive. At homeworld (CS Woo etc.) I appreciate the support the sale team and delivery guys provide. Just please stop advertising a big sale when it is clearly NOT

It was a red flag when we arrived within opening hours and there was no one in the red knot section to help. We walked over to homeworld and found someone who found someone else and this sales rep was completely incompetent. Last name Yamada. She didn't seem to know how to work the POS and get us checked out. She kept saying it was broken. Eventually someone else came out to help her and shock-- the POS is working fine. This took about thirty minutes when we had already chosen what we wanted and just wanted to pay and schedule delivery. Delivery was $180, which was fine, and they had me pick a date. Then they had me sign a paper saying I had waived protection on my furniture when no one had even asked me if I wanted it in the first place. As we were leaving I asked what time the delivery would be for and if we could set a window. Only then did she let me know it would be an additional $200 to set a time. Insane when the delivery fee is already $180 and the furniture itself is only $1000. You're asking me to pay almost 40% of the item's cost on delivery alone??? I was already annoyed with this whole experience. The sales rep didn't seem to know how to disclose policy at all. Then she let me know that they would be calling us a few days in advance to tell us when the furniture would be delivered. We live in an apartment building where you need to reserve the elevator to move large furniture. I got the call a couple days before delivery and they gave us a time which wasn't available in our building. Come to find out if you change or cancel your delivery date/time three days before your original delivery day it's an additional $200. Which is insane because they only let you know your 2-hour time frame three days in advance. My boyfriend decided to just go pick it up himself on a different day. They refunded our delivery fee which isn't even something I feel I should be grateful for, seeing as they didn't explain almost anything about how their deliveries work and tried to charge a bunch of fees despite the onus being on sales reps to explain policies to clients. That seems like it should be a part of their job. Overall the experience was full of friction, hidden fees, incompetent staff, and anti-consumer policies. There's a wide variety of furniture but I will never be returning here.

We had the pleasure of meeting and working with him at an event in late January in Kapolei. It was certainly an educational experience which Naoki Hayashi was the master in both teaching keiki's and adults alike, whether it was etiquette or the skill of his craft. My friend remembered his paintings that adorn the Original Roy's (Hawaii Kai) Restaurant lobby area (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KRN2w_7B09aVEMvE2UQg0g&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) and immediately brought his daughter to meet him. When she returned with her artwork, I walked over to find a short line of three adults waiting. When the line became a non-keiki situation, he clearly stated that this activity is meant for keiki's and he would do adults later; being totally understanding, I dropped out and figured it wasn't meant to be. As the event wound down, I noticed more and more adults lining up and taking photos. Looking at my watch, I figured he would probably break down his table and pack up. Guess what? He stayed until every last guest got their fish before calling it a day. As we talked while he coached me (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=vYjsW5dncHvLRLFFJTexnA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), I learned how his passion for his craft led him to this career. You certainly have a greater appreciation for his work and patience after you meet him. Hope to stop by this store next trip to the island.

So, I highly recommend going in with an open mind to other options, because, hey, you never know how perfect something else might be for you. ;) John is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about mid century furniture and design. He does beautiful restoration jobs on the furniture he has for sale, so you can't go wrong when buying from him. He also is super laid back and fun to talk to-not a pushy salesman type like in other furniture stores. Exploring all the beautiful pieces in his store just makes my heart happy! Highly recommend!
