Racks of beautiful dresses arranged by colors of the rainbow (see the couple of photos that I posted). I thought that all the people that I met inside were very friendly and helpful - not pushy. My daughter had already tried on every dress in the store during her last visit and chose the perfect one for her. Quite lovely (and glad I wasn't there for the 1st part of the adventure). She thought the the staff was very helpful and not pushy - good for them! They also have some very nice guys clothing (non-formal) as well as tuxes for prom or that other special occasion. This place is a gem in the middle of where - Oswego (holy cow - who would have thunk).

One of my favorite things about The Marmalade Tree is the wonderful purses they sell. These bags are not only fashionable and trendy, they are SO AFFORDABLE. During my last visit to the store, I brought in a necklace that I bought there over the Christmas holidays that I had never worn because it had become a tangled mess. The sales associate not only let me exchange it with no receipt, she took my word on the original cost. It is so hard to find a neighborhood store that still believes in the honor system....REFRESHING! That same sales associate let me know that some of the gorgeous jewelry at The Marmalade Tree was made locally and even by their own sales clerks! This the third time I have been here and the third time I have been blatantly ignored by the staff…read more I walk in, no acknowledgement at all. A Caucasian lady walks in right behind me and she is asked if she needs anything and is greeted politely. I walked around the entire store and not once did any sales person acknowledge or ask me if I needed help but they fawned over every other customer there. I was the only non Caucasian customer, btw. And every salesperson there is Caucasian. Like I said, this wouldn't be so obvious if it didn't happen EVERY SINGLE TIME I have walked in. Never again. Mediocre overpriced clothes anyway. I'd rather take my business elsewhere where people aren't so blatantly rude and prejudiced. And not that this matters, but I was dressed properly and had on a designer handbag (in case they were wondering if I had any money to pay for their items )
