I am a loyal Loft customer - a majority of my wardrobe is from the Loft. Which is why this is…read moredisappointing to me. I was at the Loft yesterday afternoon and purchased several items. They were having a good sale on tops and what wasn't on sale was eligible for my 15% teacher discount. So I spent a decent portion of my paycheck. Then I got home to find an email that says EVERYTHING in the store is 50% off - better than the sale I was able to take advantage of yesterday! I called this morning to see if I could bring just my receipt in for a price adjustment, since all of my purchases have already been de-tagged and hung in my closet. I was told I need to have the items with me - just the receipt isn't good enough. I can't think of another store where I have asked for a price adjustment due to a sale that pops up after I've made my purchases, that has insisted that I bring in the purchases. The receipt has always been good enough. In my opinion, forcing customers to pull purchases out of their drawers and closets in order to get a price adjustment is bad policy and not customer friendly at all. I'm very disappointed. By the way, I initially called main office cust. svc. To ask about the price adjustment - I was told the policy of just receipt vs. Receipt and purchases is handled at the store level. So this my not be the case at other Loft stores.

One of the worst Ann Taylor Loft stores out there. It doesn't matter if you spend thousands upon…read morethousands of dollars at their store, they still insist on treating you like a criminal the moment you walk through their door. Sarah, one of the managers, told one of her associates to follow around a customer. The associate did what she was told to do and she followed the customer around in the store, like a lost puppy dog. When the customer went into the fitting room to try on two cardigans, the associate informed the associate in the fitting room to not leave the fitting room. Also, they will scan your driver's license more than three times (for only ONE item returned) through their idiotic tracking device because they don't want you returning anything, even though you have your receipt. Just a downright awful store that does NOT know how to treat their customers. Corporate, if you are reading this, I strongly urge you to send Sarah and her associates to business charm school because accusing perfectly innocent customers of no good is not only disrespectful and offensive, but it is also exceptionally poor business practice and against the law (innocent until proven guilty). I think I will take my hard-earned money to Nordstrom and Macy's because I will be treated with respect, thoughtfulness, and dignity. Nobody deserves to be disrespected in this form and I would not be the least bit surprised if you found better customer service at Walmart or McDonalds. Ann Taylor Loft, shame on you for letting your employees fall through the cracks. Buyer beware!

When you are ready to say yes to your MOB or MOG dress, make the appointment. Go see Kelly…read more Yes, there's a fee. Pay it. It's worth every penny. Kelly listens--not just to the color or style you describe, but to the whole story. While I was prattling on about wedding details, she was quietly picking up on the vibe the bride is trying to create. And when it was time to hit the racks? Sure, I could choose gowns--but I quickly realized there was no need. I just let Kelly do her thing. She knows her inventory; she skillfully pulled several gowns that fit my criteria. The first gown? I didn't want to take it off. Same with the second. And the third. A few misses? Kelly didn't even waste time zipping them up. She takes care of you--zipping and clipping, yes--but also prepping the room before you arrive and rehanging each gown with care. That may not sound like much, but if you've been to other stores, you know it's not a given. My challenge today was choosing between several dresses any one of which would have been lovely. When it came time to decide, Kelly didn't rush me. She gave me all the time I needed--and even encouraged me to FaceTime the bride. I had Kelly's undivided attention throughout, and the support of my daughter in the moment that mattered most. Which did I buy? The very first gown Kelly put me in. This girl is good! Do I regret visiting other shops first? Not really. My experiences with well-meaning attendants at traditional bridal boutiques now serve as contrast. This shop is focused entirely on mothers --and it shows. In every way, they are in a different league. If you value not just selection, but also service and experience, it's time to meet Kelly for yourself.

Today the cashier, Vasantai, was so pleasant and helpful and surprisingly the other customers that were shopping were very talkative. I think we were all amazed at the 50% off already reduced prices with an additional 25% off coupon. The selections of clothing varied. They had all seasonal clothing available and on sale. I was bummed because I had a gift card at home and didn't expect to shop the way I did.

On occassion when in need of socks or…read moresweat pants, I have made a few purchases from Kohl's, usually when returning an item from Amazon (this Kohl's has a dedicated return counter for Amazon returns). Once the Amazon item is returned, Koh's provides a $5 coupon good for a week. When combined with other coupons, such as a 30% off coupon, and then again combined with a sale (buy one package of socks, get the second package for 50% off), a shopper can receive a much better value than purchasing the same items from Amazon, etc. In this case, my items cost $3.50 each, whereas they were selling on Amazon for more than twice that amount. However, if I wasn't already in the store, I would not have bothered. The customer service line was at least 10 people deep, the checkout line was about 20 people with only two registers open, the merchandise displays were a disorganized mess and their wifi went down for a short time (so they couldn't take returns or process purchases). For those focused on price over service, this may be your place!

After losing a little bit of weight, I decided to treat myself to some new, nicer, better quality clothes from a place like Express. I, of course, walked into Express still battling myself and my selfconciousness, convinced I "wouldn't find anything anyway." Enter Rose, probably the best damned employee Express ever had. I explained to her my situation, and without batting an eye, she lead me around the store, asking me questions about my style, what I felt comfortable wearing, etc. The most genuine and helpful retail salesperson I've ever met. She showed me the Portofino Slim Fit shirts and picked out a few different patterns and colors to try. On our way back to the dressing room, she continued to pick up other pieces she thought I'd like. And I nearly liked everything she chose. She really had an eye for what style I'm into, but also what I would feel beautiful in! Some pieces-- like a thin-strapped halter-type soft pink and flower print-- I never ever would have dreamed to try on. But with a few well-placed accessories, all of a sudden it looked totally "me." Rose kept coming back to the fitting room with new items to try on, including an amazing pair of Columnist pants. By the time I changed back into my "old" clothes, I felt like a different person. Checkout was a bit scary-- I knew I was in this for several hundred dollars-- $400 to be exact. *Enter jaw drop.* But, for that, I got 4 Portofino Slim Fit shirts (in different colors/patterns), the soft pink and flower halter, another soft pink lacey tank top, the pair of Columnist pants, a long-sleeved flowy formal black blouse, and a short-sleeved blouse. Rose told me about an offer they had, helped me get it on my phone, and took a whopping $75 off my order. Much (?) more reasonable... I think? But let me tell you, it was so worth it. I immediately changed into one of the new Portofino shirts I bought and felt so much more confident and truthfully... beautiful. Jamie complimented me on the look later saying the shirt looked "just like me." Since then, I've worn several of the pieces and have always received praise for my look. This one shopping trip has truly, honestly, and maybe pathetically, changed the way I feel about the clothes I wear. So, thank you, Rose, for being one hell of an amazing retail employee, and helping one defeated woman feel alluring and self-assured with your words of confidence and your keen eye for fashion.
