I turned away, took 3 steps toward the door but still is close eye sight of that clerk, then realized that the home test purchased was Covid only. I turned and approached that clerk, handed him that purchased test kit for exchange, and was directed to the rear of the store to the pharmacy where I found the 3 in 1 test kit. When I returned to pay the balance in that exchange ( about $2), the clerk discovered that the prior mistaken kit couldn't be returned or exchanged. He called the store manager. Both of us, the clerk and I, told her the mistake and that I had never left the store or the clerk's sight. I literally had the mistaken purchase for just 30 seconds in my hand. She adamantly refused to assist in correcting the mistake or refunding my money. She claimed "the CVS system will not allow it. There is nothing I can do." I purchased the second and correct test kit. My wife tested POSITIVE for influenza A. I won't be going back to any CVS if a soulless computer runs all customer service.

I am not a fan of its 'competitor,' as I have found numerous times that there is a lack of service, especially from their pharmacists/pharm techs. T___T I have been sick for a while, and the doc prescribed me a specific medication that seemed to not be readily in-stock - I went to two different of its competitor's location (out of convenience), and the pharmacist/pharm techs at both locations refused to assist (not sure what the purpose for their 'Pharm Consultation' window was for?!?!), answer questions, and/or put an order in (!!!). I was confused and not happy, as all the staff just kept saying over and over in how 'busy' they were (no one was waiting (!)) and them filling out a med order was just too much of a 'hassle' for them. All of a sudden, I remembered there being a Walgreens in the Del Ray neighborhood! I called, and the pharmacist picked up right away, explaining everything to me - she stated that they didn't have the specific med, but it wouldn't be a problem putting in the order that day. She told me the pharm hours, and I made my way over there. This Walgreens feels like neighborhood drug store - the place seemed to have been recently-renovated - it was so clean & sterile, bright, cheery, and well-organized. The pharmacy towards the western part of the place was in immaculate condition; the pharmacist that handled everything was just so UNBELIEVABLE. She made sure that all my questions were answered, put in the order, asked if I would like text messaging for prescription updates, and was just so professional and kind. I LOVE HER!!! I do not know why I have strayed, Walgreens, but no more! As much a connivence store as a drug store. Prices are "ok" but not anything to crow about. Lots of items are locked up. When I called today to check in the status of our medications, the pharmacy tech said as of 2025, Walgreens no longer accepts our secondary insurance!
