Everyone told me that Airbnbing out my condo while I was traveling in Europe for a month was a terrible Idea, and I should have listened, because when I came home from my month away, I began being bitten in my bed. I figured that since I was asking $350 per night to stay and my condo, that the visitors to my place would be free from bed bugs, but let me tell you that you can inherit bed bugs from travelers at any budget. I called Landmark Pest Management and their team was so kind and helpful and scheduled service for the next day. They found bed bugs not only in my bedroom, but also inside my sofa. I was grossed out and considered throwing away all of my furniture. Landmark assured me that they could kill the bed bug infestation without damaging my furniture. It's two months later now, and I'm completely bed bug free. I picked Landmark to do the work even though at $750.00, they were a little bit more expensive than the other estimates I obtained. I chose Landmark because they were classier and smarter, and they have a 100-percent success rate in solving infestations. Landmark caters to a high-end clientele and, since I am a chemist, they were able to talk to me on my level and help me feel comfortable with the process. They were heads and shoulders above the other companies I obtained estimates from, because the other companies sent unimpressive representatives who didn't even understand their own pesticides, which did not earn my confidence. I'm on the board for my condominium association, and I was so impressed with Landmark that I switch the pest control for our whole building over to their company. My experience with Landmark Pest Management's wildlife control team was as good as it gets, and I recommend them. I hired them for a second time to do a mouse control program. There are gaps all the way around my house that mice can use to enter the walls. It's no surprise with a more than 100-year old house. They are using stainless steel mesh, commercial-grade sealant, and in some areas a metal product called angle iron to close out mice. It is going to be a few thousand dollars but it is a better alternative than using rodenticide for the whole time we live there. Their way is much better for the environment, so we are making the investment in our home being mouse-free. The proposal they gave me is very comprehensive, includes photos, calls out the material they will use in each spot, and gives warranty information specific to each type of material. I'm very impressed with all of the work they've done for me and all of the work they are about to do to keep mice out. I've called or emailed with questions a dozen times and their staff is helpful and responsive. The first time we called them was for trapping of raccoons and changing our attic insulation. We bought a home in Evanston's Lakeshore Historic District that was built in the 1890s. During the home inspection, we found out that it had been home to many generations of raccoons and that it needed its insulation changed because of the contamination and fleas. Our real estate agent recommended ABC Wildlife & Landmark Pest Management and they took the raccoons away, put metal backing where the soffit was letting them in, and changed the insulation. read more

This is the second time since I bought my home that ABC Humane, which is the wildlife control department of Landmark Pest Management, has solved a wildlife problem for me. The first time, we had flying squirrels in the attic. They trapped two flying squirrels and relocated them to a nature center's adjacent forest. Their service was terrific and they explained their whole process to my kids. I appreciate the great service and the extra time they took to talk with my kids about flying squirrels. This year we had foxes taking shelter under our deck and dragging their stinky, dead prey underneath there, which made our yard stink to high hell. We asked ABC to trap the foxes, but they explained that it's more humane to install underground fencing beneath our deck instead of trapping the animals. They came when the foxes weren't home, and they sealed them out. Our problem was solved, and now, since we plan to stay in our home a long time, we'll never have to deal with having animals under the deck again. read more

VERY RESPECTFUL OF MY HOME (white carpet): The technician came to my house and put on boot covers before he came in. I knew I was going to like the service when I saw that. Then he put boot covers on the feet of his ladder too. This company is very thoughtful and pays attention to the little details that made me feel comfortable. After he went up in my attic, some insulation fell out of the hatch, but he had put a plastic sheet on my hallway carpet which caught it. They were very respectful of my home and the service was top notch. Not the cheapest, but definitely the best! If you're looking for quality, knowledge, professionalism, and high-end service, this is the company you should use. I used to use Anderson, but when they sold, their service people went down hill. Orkin has always been terrible. I consider ABC Wildlife/Landmark Pest Management the luxury option in pest control. Thank you for taking the raccoon out of my living room before it ruined my art collection. You helped me through the most terrifying day of my life. When a raccoon drops out of your ceiling, you'll know what I went through. We were having a skylight installed, and the day before it was done, a raccoon popped through the opening and fell almost two stories onto my sofa. Lucky raccoon. Landmark Pest Management was very helpful in dealing with my skunk problem. I had initially called Landmark a year prior to trap a skunk. At the time, the technician suggested a more expensive option than I was willing to undertake at the time. He wasn't pushy about it and didn't bring it up again on subsequent communications. When the skunks returned, I called Landmark again. The same technician came, remembered my problem, and suggested that that expensive solution would help. Again, he wasn't pushy about it. However, he did remember some particulars of my situation, and explained clearly how their solution would solve my problems.
