Newly addicted to cycling, I bought a couple of vintage Italian and Japanese road bikes that I wanted to restore and convert to single speed. I had gone to the 3 popular east valley bike shops to look around for parts and to get some work done. Not being super familiar with the difference in European/Japanese/American thread pitch parts interchange, these guys were very knowledgeable and were very willing to help out. I had them convert a wheel I had to single speed and also replace a tube on one of my tires on two separate occasions. Both times I had friendly and knowledgeable service. I was able to watch them work and get tips on other things I needed done. Their labor rate was less then anyone else and they did the work while I waited. Top notch service and price!!! I like supporting local shops so I will be coming back here often. read more

Landis has a good selection of brands and the young gentleman that helped us was knowledgeable and patient with answering all our questions. We used to love this place. We bought two very nice comfort bikes there. My wife is a very serious rider. I am more of 5 miles and lets go home. A while back we noticed this place had an attitude change for the worse. They always seemed mad or pissy. The final straw was a guy who I think is the manager treated my wife like she was an idiot. Many male riders feel female riders suck. Well when that rider is spending money in your shop you should shut your pie hole. Needless to say my wife spent her thousands at another shop. We only use this place for working on the comfort bikes and picking up last minute items. They charge 60 for a tune up. That's pretty fair if you have a nice road bike. But oddly a very basic bike with little to do also costs 60. I just feel this store has slipped. read more

Bought a mountain bike on closeout, sales guy was extremely helpful. Very satisfied. Edit: 3 months later, brought it back for a FREE tuneup. The male that answered the phone was pretty rude. I was just asking some simple questions and he was just trying to rush me off the phone as quickly as he could probably because I heard another phone ringing in the background and he was probably trying to get to that phone call or maybe he was waiting on an important phone call or I don't know, regardless. Guy was kinda snoody as I probably wouldn't recommend going here just because customer service is mainly what retail is all about, and he just seemed very frustrated at my questions and it overall it just wasn't a very pleasant experience talking to this employee. Wouldn't call him a gentleman more like a grown baby. I wouldn't recommend this shop. I'd say go to Walmart even, how bad is that right. Maybe try saying sorry every once in a while steroid junky a-holes. So f*cking rude man. And I was just about to stop in Friday after I got my monthly bonus check and get a really nice mountain bike and some of those things can be very pricey. Great shop. Went in with the intent of buying a Trek Madone 3.1 on a killer deal. They had my size in stock and ready to go. Just added some Shimano SH11 pedals and a couple bottle cages on it. Took maybe 25 minutes or so and I got great help from Noah. All the guys were knowledgeable and cool. Landis has been in business for a long time for good reason. I was referred to this location from the 7th St. Phoenix location as I was looking for a touring bike which they had several selections. The sales help I received from Kevin was top drawer, Kevin was friendly, helpful and very knowledgable. I also had a bike fit done by Ron who was equally friendly, helpful, very knowledgable, thorough and passionate about bikes. I am very happy with my new bike and the bike fit. Greetings, I agree with eveything Meg Z said about leaving your bike at the shop to be picked up by Tri Bike Transport. The staff is not freindly, does not even try to say hello or explain where to put the bikes and bags. They could care less about anything to do with you or your big race...and they are supposed to be bike people. They treat you like the guy at the back of the adult book store. I hate the place and only go there becaus I am forced to drop my bike off at that location to be picked up for transportation to an ironman race. I wish Tri Bike Transport would find another dealer to work with in the Phoenix area. read more

Having a bike as my only way around Arizona leads to inevitable flat tires. Lots of flat tires. Naturally I had to find a place to get some maintenance done and buy new tubes for my flats. FINDING LANDIS CYCLERY HAS BEEN ONE OF THE BEST THINGS THAT'S HAPPENED TO ME SINCE MOVING TO ARIZONA! Seriously, absolutely awesome place. If I knew more about bikes I would want to work there. Everyone who I've met that works there is super friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond any time I am having a problem with my bike and/or need some work done. Without even sizing her, this shop tried to get my mother in law to commit to a $2400 mountain bike and told her she's stuck with it even if it doesn't fit. She thought that was standard procedure because she's inexperienced with bike shops. Immediately after putting a deposit on this bike she had second thoughts. She tried to get her deposit back. They initially refused. She had to call trek to ask them if the shop could just cancel the order at no cost to them... Trek said "of course" and she went back the next day to get her deposit. They grudgingly returned her deposit. They made it clear they would not stand by her purchase and not guarantee her satisfaction. She already had purchased a $3000 road bike from them so they knew she was a serious customer. I have 12 years of bike industry experience and I know this is not how a successful bike shop that is confident in their products operates. We will never be back. read more

A few months ago the back wheel of my beach cruiser began squeaking badly. I got a diagnosis of what could be causing it by this place and Dominic's 2 Wheelers (my usual bike shop). I took it here because I thought the diagnosis they gave me seemed more accurate than the other place and it was closer in distance. After I got it back several days later it began to squeak again as I was almost home. I was too tired that day to head back to this place to address it. I had a bad experience here that has taken my business elsewhere. I brought my bike here for a flat tire and they repaired it just fine - a little pricey though. The tire went flat as I was driving it home in my back seat. Took it straight back to the shop to have them repair it again - tire went flat again before even riding the bike. I had Sonoran on Rural Rd fix it on the third try and it's been great. read more

The entire staff is great, but extra shoutout to Ron! I wanted to purchase a road and I spoke to Ron about my biking goals to help direct the purchase, as I am new to this hobby. Ron suggested, and I agreed, that I get fitted first, then we could decide on the road bike. Ron spent over an hour fitting me for my bike; he was extremely thorough and educated me along the way. Once we had the measurements, we searched online, as I needed a 44", which is a hard size to find. We found a great bike, a Specialized Amira SL4. Once the bike arrived, Ron had me get on the bike to check the fit, he made some minor adjustments, and then I hit the road. I've had my bike for about 2 months and the fit is so perfect. I can actually ride 10 miles comfortably, without biking shorts, because I am so perfectly positioned on this bike, it's amazing. (I do wear biking shorts, but have jetted out a few times for shorter rides without them.) I contribute this perfect fit to Ron and all of the time that he invested in me and fitting me for my bike. He is truly an expert in his field and I highly recommend his services. He is top notch, cares about the customer, and educates you along the way. I only go to this shop for services and products. I've bought 5 bikes from this shop in the past 2 years. I've never received anything but respect and great service from every person who works there. All it takes from any business is one time, just once, where I feel like I was disrespected, and I never return. I've been to other bike shops in the area, but none of them come close to the service and professionalism that the folks at Landis display. And even though I'm leaning towards a bike brand that Landis doesn't carry for my next bike, I'm probably going to find a model similar that Landis sells just so I don't have to go somewhere else and take my chances. Went in to get some simple service done. The person who helped was very nice. He new a lot about the bikes and what needed to be done. Unfortunately the price was outrages. I had already done what he was going to do and he rant me up just under $600 for something I had paid under $300 three years ago. He tried to make it seem like it was going to be a lot of work and when I looked online how to do it myself it was not that hard. I ended up doing it on my own for under $60 bucks new parts included. read more

i dropped off a bmx bike for repairs. it took them 3 months to finish it. called them two times over two months, they said it wasn't done. and finally yesterday morning 12/08 - i called for the third time, the mgr said he will get on it and have it ready in two hours. so this morning i decide to go other and pick it up. i was very dissatisfied with the bike. they put on a whole new rear rim whereas they supposed to only repack the axle w/ freewheel gear etc. instead they put on a mismatched rim. they expected me to pay 100+ for the repairs! After the fact that it took them 3 months to fix it? After the fact that bike is not looking as how i wanted? no way. i was so upset i told the guy that helped me i need to talk to the manager. i called and didn't realize i was calling the store all that time. and here i thought i was given the number to the manager to speak to. idoit! so i just went home and told him i will come back tomorrow so i can talk to the manager. he calls an hour later. he brought the price down to 80ish dollars. i was like ok. well i be over as i just live down the street. UPON MY ARRIVAL, THE MANAGER TOOK OFF THE REAR RIM AND REPLACE THE ORIGINAL RIM. ???? WHAT THE HECK? WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS? I WAS SO UPSET, I DIDNT NOT SAY A WORD , AND JUST PAYED FOR WHAT WAS DONE. THIS BIKE HAD A SENTIMENTAL VALUE TO ME AND MY NEPHEW.
