For a place with a lot of history in the area they are totally unwilling to do what I want, which is sell me a bicycle!!!! I went with cash and was treated rudely, lied to over the phone about what I wanted to buy. They have nice bikes but it available online. Go in that direction read more

Retail experiences are subjective at most shops but what I really look for in my LBS is building a relationship with the service folks and knowing that I can trust them to do the right thing for me. I used to patronize a local competitor for the last 5 years and after my first experience at Landis (Southern) recognized that that there's so much I've been missing: 1. No matter how busy the mechs are, they always stop, say hello and try to understand your issue. Even with backlogs for tune ups running a week, if they can address your issue within say 15 minutes they will. This has been the case 3 or 4 times with anything from a broken spoke, tube replacement to repairing a Specialized Air Tool pump i thought I'd have to send I'm for warranty on the spot! The service at Southern (and Warner locations) is top notch. 2. Closed loop follow up. The guys at the shop call you when they say they are going to. This sounds minor but it matters. I hate having to micro manage partners. 3. Earn Trust. Related to #3, both shops I've been to have earned my trust by genuinely trying to understand my problem and attempting to diagnose on the spot. This typically has led to easy fixes that have me walking out with my bike vs a ticket that will keep me off the road or trials for a week. Service pricing is super fair and I have a high degree of confidence in the service areas ability. Thank you for your commitment to service and relationships! read more

Well, I was forced to return here to drop my bike off to be shipped to Ironman Wisconsin through Tribike Transport. Good, I thought, maybe they'll make it back into my good graces. Nope. Sure, I dropped my bike off an hour before the deadline...my fault. I asked if they could do a quick look over if they have time before it's picked up, and I got a straight up "No, we can't". Oookkaaaaay. And then, I got no "Good luck", even though it was obvious I was dropping it off to go to Wisconsin for an IRONMAN! Geez....it's kinda a big deal, ya know? Don't they have a triathlon team? Then, when I picked it up, I didn't even get a "How did your race go?". Nothing. I mean, can't a girl brag a little? That was your last chance Landis. Peace. read more

I had two bikes tuned here in the last two weeks. My experiences are mixed, it seems like if you bring in a more expensive bike they do a very nice tune, everything cleaned, lubed, adjusted and wiped down as expected. If the bike you bring in is lower value, sure, they adjust the gears, make sure the brakes work etc but they left the chain dirty, the front brake worked fine but was set at it's maximum adjustment point on the adjustment barrel, nothing was wiped down or cleaned. It was a much different experiance. The tune cost the same between the two bikes, the service provided shouldn't be dictated by how taken the tech was with the particular bike. read more

I have been to this Landis a few times over the last 10 years or so and it's a pretty good place to get some help and they have a good selection of brands to choose from. Staff was help full helping me pick out my new bike, but I kind of already knew what I wanted from what I saw on the Internet. I ordered my bike, they said should be on Wed. so I called on Thurs. morning and they said "yeah we got it but we need to put it together, call you when it's done." ---FYI it takes about 15 minute to put a bike together. So I went on Fri. morning (they didn't call) and they had it almost done and took about 10 min to finish. Kinda made me mad they were so blase about it. read more

If you're going into cycling, it does not pay in the long run to go with Amazon or Walmart or some other rinky-dink way of getting a bike. Go to your local bike shop, and get one that treats you like a prince. I found mine. Landis is my all-time favorite bike shop. I've been with them for 20 years, and they have treated me with honesty, care, and friendship that I deeply value. read more

I don't know what happened with Matt but they were great to my friend. he ended up getting a Specialized hybrid for the purpose of commuting. Their selection is a little small but they carry a few good brands (Trek and Specialized) as well as a good selection of tools and maps/books. The sales people were very nice and put his bike together on the spot real quick. They are a good small business and are a little more accessible to the aspiring bicyclist than the big boys and junk shops. read more

These dudes customer service was top notch! Needed repairs on my beach cruiser and these guys rocked it! (And they have some really cool bikes in there too.) If you just happen to need one of those $6000 - $8000 dollar bikes, they got 'em! read more

Expert service.Recognized anytime I go into a shop. Instead of being ignored like other shops.Brand selection and in stock availability.Special orders can be made without owner micromanaging.Quick maintenance when in a pinch.Manufacturer's warranty assistance.Same faces every time I go in instead of a revolving door with new employees. The list goes on but these are my favorite.Thank you for being a great local shop! read more

I have been in this shop several times and always with such great service. Today I bought a new bike and again the service was awesome. Very knowledgeable and honest. Salesman didn't try to upsell me. When I came to pick up the bike, the young men that helped me was absolutely friendly and great to deal with. He took the time to watch me ride, got my seat set, put new pedals on and got me set up with a great front and rear light set. I highly recommend this shop! read more

The staff is amazing. I had taken my bike to two other bike shops that were covered under warranty from when I bought the bike. There was a shifting issue and the claimed to have fixed it each time I brought it in and said it still was not working. I then took it here and they had it diagnosed and fixed. They worked with the Specialized bike reps to help get the parts covered under warranty and also gave me an awesome rental bike to use for the weekend while mine was getting fixed. read more

I had an appointment with Ron for a bike fitting. I have been experiencing some numbness in my hand when riding and my doctor suggested I get my bike professionally fitted. Ron was very professional and answered all my (10 million) questions. He explained to me how my handlebars were way too big and my body was stretched too much while riding. He helped me put on different pedals, a new saddle, and suggested insoles for my shoes. He never pressured me to buy anything extra, just explained how different thing may be preventative for injury, or just make me more comfortable. I would highly recommend getting a bike fitted, especially for novice riders like me. Thanks Landis and Ron! read more

Disappointed with my bike repair, the staff defiantly is friendly. But having to bring my bike in several times for a tire repair (being charged each visit) that they couldn't get right the first time is frustrating. read more

Extremely friendly service today. Had some grips that I brought in and Kevin threw em on quick. Thanks Landis!

The staff here is very helpful! I've taken my bikes in for minor repairs & purchased accessories. They are a friendly & knowledgeable group. There was no hesitation when I purchased a helmet & needed help with adjusting the fit. I'll definitely return for my bike needs and future purchases. I'm not going to lie, I prefer to buy used bikes only because they're more affordable, but I wouldn't hesitate to support this shop whenever! read more

Great selection and service. Bought electric bike there and love it. Got a flat tire a few weeks after purchase and they fixed it fast. Great place read more

I have always found the folks at Landis to be very helpful. I took a fall a few days ago and messed up the front brakes. Something was broke and I had no clue what to do. I took my bike in and the man said you put this thing here and squeeze it back together like this and your done. He did it, pumped up my tires and didn't charge me and gave it a look over. He could have charged me, but didn't. I appreciate that. And then he even offered to help put the bike in my car. My husband is an avid rider and uses Landis as well and is always satisfied. Thanks Landis. read more

Found the perfect Specialized Sirrus bike and Hank went above and beyond with t his customer service, cool guy that made the experience even better. Thank you Hank! read more

ter they worked on the bike for about a WEEK, they told me they needed to order a part to bleed the brakes. After a second week they told me that the front brakes needed to be replaced which was fine since I know the bike was older and said they would give me a deal on them since it took so long. When I picked up the bike I realized that my back brakes were worse than they were when I brought the bike in. They said they were not aware that they needed to work on the brake brake then told me I needed to have the back brake replaced also since they were not able to bleed them. When it came time to pay ($170 total) I was charged for the tune up and additional the bleeding of the brakes which I was told before it was included. All they said they could do was apologize for someone misinforming me of their service but they wouldn't remove the charge since it's a separate service. I'm a small business owner, this nickel and dime customers is not good business practice. I will not be returning and would not recommend their services to anyone. Avoid this company and go someplace else to have your bike serviced. read more

Derek was the most patient person I have met in working with my 7 yo daughter. She was hesitant to get the larger bike but he spent lots of time with her and helped her to pick out the color and bike. She is so happy with the new bike and I cant say enough about Landis. read more

Landis Cyclery - Bikes Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

I have been biking in Az and have probably tried every bike shop in the Tempe area. The people Tempe Landis have always been very cordial to me. They have always been willing to just "shoot the breaze" with me even on the numerous times I have just gone in to look around. Their work has always been great and inthe event they might not stock something I needed were always able to order it in short times. BEST BIKE SHOP IN ARIZONA. read more

New to Tempe, I needed some help with brake parts for my old Cannondale Scalpel. A friend from work recommended Landis and i was NOT disappointed. When i entered the shop, there were mechanics working feverishly repairing bikes, salespersons helping customers with new bikes, and lots of customers. I stopped in unannounced on a SAT afternoon, and they immediately fit my bike in for a quick minor brake caliper install and tune. I ran a few errands and returned 45 minutes later. My bike was tuned better than expected and they only charged me a nominal fee- Now, Tomorrow I can go take a ride as my bike is back on the road.! I RECOMMEND Landis Cyclery, they took good care of me........ read more

Shame on this place. We were in there looking to buy some presta valves the gentleman that employed this particular location are extremely judgemental and rude . They're lucky I like the color purple of the tape they had. I feel shamed to have bought anything. I left my purse in the car and so I ran out to get it and one if the employees literally followed me out watching me like I stole something!?!!! How humiliating.! read more

I have been to this location a few times now. Customer service is ALWAYS on point! I've had 4 or 5 different guys assist me and they were ALL friendly and professional! The first time I went my bike was going to be done the next day because they were very busy. They managed to get it done the same day! I was very pleased! Thank you Landis for your awesome customer service! You will continue to get my business! read more

TRIATHLETES BEWARE - This place was not helpful and rude when we called on the phone. We are coming in for iron man 70.3 Tempe and had an issue with one of our bikes and needed to get it fixed before the race in two days. The guy who answered the phone shoved us off saying they had no availability til next week and when we asked if he could recommend another bike shop he just told us to call around and then hung up. We've been on the road for two days now and could use any kind of help or advice we could've got. They don't care about their customers so I definitely wouldn't trust them with your bike. And all we needed was to fix the headset on the bike. A 30 minute job at most for a bike mechanic. A**holes! read more

Had a fabulous experience at Landis in Tempe! Austin and Cole did a great job in getting my bike ready in a short amount time, fit me to the bike and watched while I did my test ride to make sure it was right. I brought my speedometer and side mirror in and they put it on with no problems. All with a great attitude! I gave them a 5 only because the numbers don't go any higher! read more

Long-time customers to Landis, Great selection and customer service

They are very community friendly they let us use their store for a filming and did not even charge what a great place.

I can't stand this place. I made 3 attempts to purchase (and to get educated) on a new mountain bike. The sales staff were arrogant and completely useless. I finally purchased a new bike from another store. It's a shame as Landis is right by my house. I will not even buy an inner tube from them. read more

These guys are awesome. I did a rebuild on my brake master cylinder's but didn't have the tool to bleed it. I took my bike in Friday at lunchtime and they got me all set up by the end of the day and they even sold me the tool that I needed so I can do it myself from now on. Attention to detail was very good and the bike is operating excellent. Would highly recommend these guys to any of my fellow bicyclists. read more

My wife and I recently purchased two cruisers. The guys at the shop are super friendly and efficient. They are bike experts. Our bikes were perfectly prepared and have performed flawlessly. You can probably find a lower cost bike, but if you're looking for highest value and superior service, check these guys out. read more

These guys are amazing! I brought my poor, slightly disabled bike to see what was going to need to be done to be able to get back in the saddle again. I already had a frame of reference of what was needed, as I had previously visited another bike shop (Bike Barn...do not go there), but was hoping that instead of getting gouged, the dudes at Landis would be able to fix up my ride...the guy I worked with (I feel bad, because I can't remember his name) gently took my bike and gave it a once over...he came to the conclusion that all I needed was a new chain, and new front brake (which I knew); he said they could fix the gear cassette (as opposed to replacing it, which is what BB wanted to do); no tune up needed (which BB automatically added for another $70). The nice Landis dude gave me the estimate, and it was less than half of what the money-hungry peeps at BB we're going to charge...a week later, I picked up my newly repaired bike, and ended up paying even less than the estimate! Rode my feels-like-new bike today...best ride ever. Thank you, Landis, you've earned a customer for life!! read more

This place is amazing. First, let's start with the obvious. This isn't a big box store, so don't expect big box prices, nor a $100 bike for you or your kids. This is a place to get serious bikes for all types who want high quality equipment and stellar customer service. There are some reviewers who haven't had a good experience but I'm not sure how that could be. Here's my story. I went on last Friday night and met with Jim, the manager around 5pm. I told him what I wanted as a novice cyclist with my first bike. (I knew nothing going in, trust me.) We discussed how and where I wanted to ride and he agreed based on my wants a hybrid would be appropriate. Jim took plenty of time to discuss the differences in the bikes, how they worked, and 100 other questions I had, and some I didn't. He patiently helped me out in the parking lot while I test drove a couple of bikes, and nearly wiped out on one with my hard braking. Over the course of the next 2 hours and 40 minutes, we covered EVERYTHING. He helped with accessories I needed, U-locks, car carrier, helmets, etc. After all that, he proceeded to do the same with my almost 14 year old son by fitting him out right as well. He was patient enough to address every need, even though the store closed at 7pm and we didn't leave until almost 7:40pm!! We noticed at the last minute one of the bikes was missing the reflectors, so he quickly ran back in and grabbed the ones we needed and installed, after he took the time to install my bike rack I just purchased on the my car, and help mount the bikes. Awesome. I came back in on Sunday and spent an hour with Jory. We discussed options for my wife's new bike, as well as many additional questions about my own new bike, shifting, etc. We covered flat repairs, and other things not discussed the prior night. Even though we didn't make a purchase, they still spent quality time with us knowing we would be back again for sure. I just love the time, attention, and sincerity we received from Jim and Jory and will highly recommend them to all. It's great to find knowledgeable people who care so much - something you would NEVER get at a big box. Definitely worth the extra money. Thanks so much Landis for putting us on the road! read more

Not impressed. Cheap bikes for the average Joe, and limited inventory. Two Wheel Jones much better. Don't see what the positive reviews are about. Then again I just moved from SoCal where there are no average bike shops. read more
