The staff at Landheim Training and Boarding is terrific. Starting at the front desk to training and grooming we have had a fantastic experience. We had an introductory evaluation for our very anxious dog that was a rescue with an unknown 5 year background. Zac Galvan, a Landheim trainer, saw good things in Oakley. We proceeded to have 5 private training sessions with Zac. Oakley has progressed so well. We are no longer afraid to walk him among people and other dogs. In the past Oakley would be so frightened that he would either " fight, flee, or freeze ". Zac taught us, yes, it is the humans that are being trained, to teach the dog proper behavior and to overcome his fears ( and ours). It takes much patience and understanding of the dynamics to overcome the past poor behavior issues. The training is done with positive rewards not fear. We will be continuing with more training classes with group classes to continue the fabulous progress that Oakley ( and we) have made. Either the staff needs to be trained better on the computer system they have or they need a more user friendly system. I put in a request online with their website for boarding for 2 dogs from the 1-3/1-11. I got a voicemail (pictured ) the next day or so. In the voicemail it says the price for 2 dogs and what the deposit would be to hold the spots. I called back, no one answered so I left a voicemail. No one called me back the next day so I called again. No one answered so I left another voicemail. Finally someone called me back to take my deposit. So I paid the $184 for my deposit they said great we will see you guys on January 3rd for drop off. So within 2 weeks I made sure all the vet records were correct on Landheims portal for my dogs and the feeding schedule. Medication. Emergency contact. Vets number. And who was allowed to pick them up. January 3rd. I go in to check them in. They started going over details with me about feeding and everything. I said I put all this into the portal for them. The staff member told me they don't have access to see that? I'm like okay whatever I don't mind going into the details of feeding and what not. 20 minutes goes by or questions for feeding. They told me okay we have extra add ons for cots and playtime. I said yeah I thought I checked those all off on the portal. They told me no I didn't. I said okay well can you add them. They said no problem. They asked me to bring the dogs in so they can take them back. So I brought them in one by one. When I handed them my second dog they said okay we will see you the 11th for pick up. I said I put someone else down for pickup in the portal. They told me it didn't show up. So I gave them the name. I asked if I can pay in full now so when my friend comes to pick them up he doesn't have to worry about a balance. They said yeah we can take payment now it'll be $800. I said I was quoted $368 and my deposit was taken for $184. I showed them the voicemail ( pictured below ). They said well Brittany is right here so Brittany can you explain to her why you quoted her $368? Brittany said I don't understand the issue you don't want to pay the $800? I said not if I don't have to when I was quoted $368 and my deposit of $184 was taken. Brittany called her supervisor. Asked me what date the voicemail was left because they have everything recorded on the phones. I said the date and time and even offered to play it for her. She said no it's fine I guess I can scroll all the way back on the computer to find it. Well after Brittany talking to her supervisor they agreed to honor the quote I was given since my deposit was already taken for it. Brittany was very rude and basically tried to shame me for it saying " you do understand this is a business right?! " " you do understand that everywhere we have advertised is $46 per dog per night right?! " " I do not agree with this at all but we will honor it just this one time. You do understand this is one time right?! " I told her I understand it is one time and I also understand miscommunication and misunderstanding but I was given a quote and I understand this is a business which is why I asked for a quote, I am not trying to be a pain but I was told one thing had my deposit taken for that price and it all of a sudden doubled?! The person I was first dealing with seemed to agree with me and understood. Brittany rolled her eyes and me and said " yeah well this is a business you understand that right?! ". So I paid in full the amount I was quoted with the add ons. So my account was paid off in full no more back and forth. Didn't hear anything from them all week ( if something was added on or wrong ). My friend goes to pick up the dogs on the 11th. They told him it was $112 balance on the account and asked him to pay it. He did because we were on a plane on the way home so he couldn't call and ask. We land and he told us about it. I called and left a voicemail asking why my account had a balance when I paid in full. They called me back Monday saying the front desk staff called off on Saturday so the person they had up front knew how to do front desk but not really. Ok???? But if that person is going off the computer then why is that balance on my account when it's paid off? I gave them my card number so they can reimburse me so I can pay my friend back. I thought this place was going to be great because I have seen such great things about it and it 10 minutes from my house. But after this, I will never be back. read more

Took my puppy to both the basic and intermediate training class. Very pleased. The course can be challenging but the professionalism and experience of the trainers really help you get thru them. At the end of it I'm very impressed with the commands my dog learned and enjoy showing people his progress. read more

We took our dog Oliver here a few months back for training and had a great experience. From beginning to end, I was very impressed by their professionalism, and thoroughness. It was tough leaving him at first, but what made it easier is the fact that they really cared for our dog. Like anything else, you get what you pay for, and this was money well spent. We have three little boys, and to add a puppy was chaos. After training, Oliver fit in our family perfectly. I don't know what we would do without this training. Counter surfing, jumping, barking, poopn' in the house, done! All fixed! I highly recommend this place! read more

I would absolutely give Landheim 5 stars. I've used them for both boarding, training and grooming They are good at what they do. They know dogs. Unfortunately it's the owners that need trained that's why there are bad dogs. The person who left a 1star apparently is one of those people that need trained. read more

Brought my dog here 2 times to get groomed, I specially said I didn't want her to short. They shaved her completely. Went there again recently, and made sure to say that she just needed a TRIM and to leave it longer for winter just to clean up the paws and just a little off the length. I mentioned it was WAY to short last time, I go to pick her up and she's shaved... again! I'm not going back here for grooming again that's for sure. read more

Sorry to post a 2 star because I liked the people at Landheim when we dropped them off and met them and felt pretty good about leaving our 2 dogs with them. It was our first time boarding with them. When we called to check on them, we were told they were not eating much or coming out of the crates and just basically laying around. The reason I am leaving 2 stars is because when we picked them up, my 1 yr old rottie had a raspy cough, the girl said it was because she pulled her, and it probably choked her. If it continues to give her some honey. I believe she knew that this was going on already. The next day it got worse and she wouldn't even move or eat and my other rottie was started to do the same thing. We took them to the Vet only to find out they have "canine infectious respiratory disease complex" , otherwise known as kennel cough. $420.00 later with meds my babies are finally starting to feel better. My vet told us if I had known where you were boarding them I would of told you not to. read more

Our German Shepherd puppy came back totally obedient & RELAXED (Jax is rarely relaxed). Kip had him running everyday along side his bike and wore him out! It was fantastic. Jax was on the spot with the commands Kip taught him. Highly recommend. read more

We have done puppy school, boot camp and boarding through Landheim; we have been very happy with the service provided on all three. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and they take fantastic care of our dog. The results from boot camp were very impressive! I left my dog Maybelline with them for a two week bootcamp as she was exhibiting severe dog aggression. I not only received phone calls from Landheim to share her progress but the staff was patient enough to take my calls to check in on her well being. When I picked Maybelline up, I first observed her from a window. She was walking next to and sitting next to another large reactive dog without any concerns. When I walked in I was given the lead and we went through a one on one training, where they walked me through the commands they used, the methods used etc. She was like a "stepford wife" she was spot on perfect. We continued these lessons outside again with no concerns from Maybelline. They did say she would regress a little once home but to continue to apply the methods I had been shown and she is a changed dog!!! I can't say enough about this place. read more

No. Just no. I took my puppy for training. They were holding several different classes in the same large room. One poor dog owner in my group got lambasted for not having the right leash (at the first meeting). That's great--except they did not send any information beforehand about what to bring to the first class. We sat around waiting for people to show up at the first 2 classes I attended. At my third (and last) class, I realized that people had dropped out, that's why they were not there. At the 3rd meeting, my dog was barking. Yes it was loud and carried across the entire room. Instead of someone showing me how to get my dog to stop barking (I was there for training, after all...), the owner SCREAMED at me to "do whatever you need to do to shut your dog the hell up." I did not return after that. They did not contact me, ask what happened, offer a partial refund, nothing. They got their money, that's all they cared about. You should know too that they use outdated, old school training techniques that make your dog fearful of you instead of teaching your dog with love and compassion. There are other, better trainers in the area. Don't go to this one. And needless to say, I would not board my dog here either. read more

First time we ever boarded a pet! Felt comfortable leaving our 3yr old german shepherd. Reasonable pricing, easy drop-off and pick-up, report card at pick-up was very helpful! No "group"activities with other dogs. Other kennels we looked at had daily activities with all dogs together, which I thought was a bad idea. Very happy with our choice! I have Bullmastiffs. I have brought 4 there for puppy to advanced puppy training. I have been thrilled. They can be direct some times but I think owners need to be trained with their pets. In my opinion bring your dog somewhere else your making a big mistake. My female Bullmastiff is aggressive, with out them I would have never learned early warning signs when she becomes aggressive. Knowing this her issues have dropped 95% knowing to take her out of situations before they escalate. THANK YOU! I board them there every chance I get. I wish they would open on Sunday then I would board there all the time. read more

I took my dog here for puppy kindergarten and basic obedience class. The trainers offer a lot of general dog care information to the class and are willing to help with more specific needs if you ask them for help or they see you are struggling with something in the class. Their classes are well planned. They allow time for questions, demonstrations, and practice in each class. There are a wide range of dog breeds and ages in the basic class and the trainers are able to offer guidance on how to best work with each one. All the employees were very friendly and welcoming from the start and assured me I could call with any questions even after I was done with my classes. Our time spent in the training had a great impact on my dog and helped me to better understand my role as his owner. I highly recommend Landheim Training & Boarding for anyone who owns a dog. read more

I can't say enough about Landheim. Their training is wonderful. They teach you to think like a dog which makes training much easier. The staff is wonderful and is willing to go out of their way to help you, even going outside during single digit temperatures to train my stubborn dog to jump into my vehicle. Sorry to post a 2 star because I liked the people at Landheim and felt pretty good about leaving our dogs with them. Couple of problems, though. Picked them up at about 9:15 AM because they open at 9. Everything seemed good. One of the dogs whined all the way home and we just thought it was because he was nervous/excited. Took them straight outside and they peed...and peed and peed and peed. They also pooped. One pooped twice. It was very obvious that they hadn't been out yet for the morning, which is ridiculous, considering the time, and they also didn't bother to mention to us that they hadn't been out. While they were peeing forever, I also remembered that the same thing happened the last time I picked them up. Also, the website says to pack snacks and toys, etc. Both times, not one of the treats was given. All of them came back, just the way I packed them. Can't say for sure, but it kinda looked like none of the toys had come out of the bag or the shirt they ask you to include with your scent on it. Kind of gives the feeling that your dogs aren't as "loved" as you hope they will be while you're away. A side question is the fact that they wash the dogs bedding for you, which is nice. But I'm not clear on how that works. If we pick the dogs up right when they open and they haven't even had time to let the dogs outside yet (and I should note that each kennel has it's own, individual outside area, so I'm not clear why there should be any delay in letting the dogs outside since it doesn't have to be done individually), then how have they had time to wash the dogs bedding in the morning after they slept on it that night??? read more
