Absolutely love this place. It doesn't matter if our dog is going for doggie day care or a sleep over when we board him........ he always pulls to go back in when we pick him up. The staff is out of this world amazing. Friendly, informative, and knowledgeable every time I talk with them. The most important aspect for us is that our dog doesn't just get dog playtime but that he gets plenty on human contact. Other places offer options of four hours of doggie day care then in the kennels when you board them. Not At Your Bark N Call. The dogs get indoor play time, outdoor play time with the area having real grass, dirt, and trees. (Not turf for grass), and lots of human contact time. It's the norm there. He gets loved on so much that one of the handlers is actually our dogs favorite human. To be honest.... It hurt a little ;) But we know by his demeanor and playfulness when we pick him up that he is loved and well taken care of At Your Bark N Call. Just an FYI.... I was not paid or given anything for this review. It's based upon months of actually seeing how my dog comes home from his sleep overs, seeing his reaction when the handlers take him back, and the personal conversations with the staff. I applied to this place and had an interview and never got told whether I got the job or not after being told they'd let me know on a specific day. the lady asked me basically if i could pick up poop and puke and that was the whole interview. my resume is professional jobs as well that an education is needed and i just wanted a side gig so how would you not hire me also she asked if i had experience with dogs like what u mean "experience with dogs"? um idk ive been around a dog my whole life and now have my own that i take care of every day? like what u want me to go to vet school...? also heard they treat their dogs horribly so i got lucky hahha read more

My husband and I boarded our two Great Pyrenees there just recently, when we came to pick them up, we couldn't believe how filthy they were, these are white dogs, they were black, it's like they were allowed to play in mud, not only filthy and muddy, looks like they were never brushed, my one dog had stuff all over her fur! Had our dogs there several times, but the last time was definitely the last time we will use them. Dog was picked up and could barely walk, when we looked at his paws they were rubbed raw with the black part of his paws flapping and falling off. 200.00 dollars later the vet says it looked like he was kept on a rough surface. I love that they provide doggy daycare without prior scheduling, so if I need to drop my dogs off the morning of, I can. My dog comes home confident and has burned a lot of energy by time I pick him up. I love not having to worry since they let them go potty throughout the day and separate dogs to give space if they're overwhelmed. The employees really care for the animals there. Only downside is my dog comes home with a dirty harness/fur coat sometimes, but it's understandable due to the large number that they watch daily and let run around outdoors. read more

I went out of town and chose here to board my dog. She was there for ten days. When I filled out paperwork and signed her up to board the place told me that they do Facebook pictures and updates along with texting you pictures. I messaged them two times while she was there and they never once updated Facebook or me via text. I just wanted to know how my dog was doing. How hard is it to post pictures. All of her gear - leash, collar and harness came back covered in mud. Most boarding and daycares take those items off so other dogs don't grab ahold of them. I don't know what happened to cause such a mess and I wasn't told either. If you want a place with good communication, DO NOT PICK HERE. read more

Been meaning to leave a review from last year's stay, my dog came home vomiting blood. This was the second time in a row he was very sick after staying at Bark and Call. Both times I also noticed odors on his blanket which is to never leave his cottage. I was going to go through small claims court to cover the vet bill but then lost my dog in December, unrelated to Bark and Call, and lost interest. I do think however; my review is needed. There was little sympathy from the staff for my dog's illness. I was told in so many words, that I should consider not using Bark and Call anymore to board my dog. I recently boarded my yorkie and two cats. I was extremely nervous because I had never boarded my 10 year old yorkie before and now I had to leave them for nine days. Everyone was so kind and caring. They went and above and beyond to keep me informed throughout the trip about their stay. Each update reassured me that they were ok. My dog had a six day stay here about a month ago. Never again! When I picked her up, they were only interested in my payment. No comments at all about her stay, which I thought was odd, but fine. She is a timid rescue and all she wanted to do was go home, which isn't unusual, so we left quickly without me looking her over. She had her tail between her legs and wanted out of there. She is a white dog and as soon as I got her home and she started wagging her tail to greet us, I saw the neglect. There was urine and feces matted into her long hair around her back end. I couldn't believe it. My daughter and I brought her into the shower to bathe her. We spent nearly an hour trying to clean that area and unmat her fur. The underneath of the bed we sent her with was also covered in feces residue. Only one scoop of the food we brought for her was used. I understand she may not have had much of an appetite, but no fresh food was given. When I called to cancel my dog's other boarding appointment, Nicole didn't even ask why. I proceeded to tell her of our experience, and instead of concern, she told me my complaints were not true and it didn't happen. She could not care less. End of that call, A couple minutes later, she called back, I thought to apologize, but no. Again, she denied my concerns and said she looked up my dog's records and tried to tell me they had given her a complimentary bath. My poor dog did not get a bath from them. She was a complete mess. Aside from her back end being a disaster, you can tell if your dog has been recently bathed. I'm not stupid. Also, don't you think they would have mentioned that "complimentary" bath at pickup? So, Nicole and I did the back and forth "No you didn't; Yes we did". Then she said "Well I'm not going to argue with you." She's the one who called me.....I said Goodbye, click. Please if you love your pet, DO NOT take them to this horrible place!!! We brought our sweet little Papillion to them for grooming and we asked that they not cut the fur around the ears. Twice they still cut the hair and the second time it never grew out the same. Around the same time we boarded her for 10 days to go on vacation. My daughter was asked not to visit during that time because they said it would make it harder for the dog to adjust. We reluctantly complied. When we got her back she was aggressive and has since bitten several family members. We suspect she was abused. These people should be investigated for animal cruelty. read more

I loved taking my dog here for grooming because everyone is very nice and she gets to play! However the past 3-4 times she's gotten groomed she's come back with big cuts on her head and face from the clippers. As cute as she looks it's not worth her getting injured. read more

About a couple months ago, I finally found a grooming/boarding facility in my town. The inside is very cute. When you walk in, the ambience is very warm and welcoming. This was the first time I had taken my dog to get groomed. Prior to grooming, I had to get my dog's shot records faxed by my vet which I had called a week before her scheduled appointment. When I showed up the day of her appointment, I gave the receptionist my information and and she right away said we hadn't received get shot records. I was very upset because I thought my vet had that all taken care of. The receptionist just looked at me not wanting to help the situation at all. She lacked customer service and wasn't very friendly. As she seen my frustration, she said she would call my vet and that it wouldn't be a problem. As she called and spoke to the vet, I found out that she took the information over the phone which didn't make sense if she needed it faxed. I was thinking why didn't she do that I'm the first place. I'm very unsatisfied with the customer service. To me, it's ALL about customer service and quality. If you want customers to come back and have a good feeling when they walk out of there, show some friendliness to the people that are paying your bills and salary. In fact, I just took my dog there for grooming today. I walked in and the same receptionist was there. We greeted each other and I gave her my information. She asked what will I be doing today as far as the cut for the dog. I said I'd rather speak to the groomer to give more detail. She called the groomer out, I explained and that was it. But when I came back to pick up my dog, she took my payment and that was it. No thank you, showed NO appreciation whatsoever. I absolutely hate when people that work don't acknowledge your business. On a trip cross country with our lab mix, Bently, my husband and I needed a place to take him while we visited the local Fair Oaks Farms. Bently has been to daycare at 4 different places, and this was one of the best, 2nd only to a place in Modesto, CA where he was a regular and quite chummy with the staff. Sarah at Bark and Call was incredibly friendly, easy to get in touch with, and very accommodating. The facility was very clean, nicely air-conditioned, and the staff welcomed Bently with a treat and trip outside to go potty if he needed. The check-in was quick but thorough, with review of vaccinations and the typical consent form to sign. When picking Bently up, it was a very reasonable $15 for 4 hours, and again, the staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Our dogs get so excited when we pull up. They love "At Your Bark and Call". The staff is very friendly and helpful. We recently got married and I forgot to call and make a reservation for our honeymoon. When we stopped in they said they were booked a few of the days we were gone. They worked it out so our dogs could stay. We were so thankful because we know they are well taken care of here. The care is exceptional. We have one dogs who likes to be outside all the time and one that wants someone near him. We get both matters taken care of here. The facility is very clean and well taken care of. As the owner of 2 dogs, 2 very hyper dogs, I cannot praise At Your Bark and Call enough. On long work days for my husband or myself it is so nice to be able to leave the dogs there for daycare where I know they're well taken care of and they are able to play and socialize with other dogs. I swear there are days when the dogs have so much fun there they are sad to come home. This week we had one of our dogs groomed there for the first time and he looks awesome! The groomer, Kaitlynn, was so informative about the services she was providing and our dog looks and smells great! My 3.5 year old pet was in the vet 2 weeks prior to her stay, and she was given a full physical with a clean bill of health and administered the shots required by this kennel ........After less then a 35 minute stay at "At your bark and call", we were called to the vets. The manager of "At your bark and call" quickly exited the building upon our arrival before our precious pup took her last breaths, (She suffocated in my arms!!!!!!!) leaving my husband and I to deal with the aftermath and the vet bill. read more

I just moved to Crown Point, IN and was in need of a good doggy daycare. A co-worker gave me a list and I visited all. I was really excited to go into AYBNC based on their website, which looks warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the owner was the first person I met and she was just as dis-interested as she could be. I asked the cost and she said $30 a day, which I may have done and just not taken him as much had she not been so incredibly rude when I asked if there were "package pricing" - her response was, "Yeah...$30 a day." I quickly did the math and very disappointed, I said, I can't afford $600 a month. Her reply? "Oh well." OH WELL?! I understand she apparently wishes to be "elite". However, when Pet Suites of America comes to this area and they are coming in the next year.... what will she do when everyone goes there because they have packages for those that aren't lawyers and doctors and it's $20 a day vs $30? I left very disappointed and sad at how apathetic and uncaring this woman is. She has no interest in pets at all - just money. Perhaps she should put one of her workers out front. They may do a better job and she should just stay in the back and count her money. read more

When I picked her up, I took a look at the grooming facility, and it is top of the line, so I will definitely be bringing Daisy back to have her groomed. My son passed away and I inherited his dog. I had no clue what I would do with him all day as I work a lot and my husband does 24 hour shifts. Leaving him caged all day was not an option. My dog loves the day care and everyone there loves my one eyed boy. This experience is like dropping your child off at day care and all the friends are lined up at the fence waiting for him to come in. The down side is the cost for us regular users. After having a negative experience at another kennel, I took my canine-anti-social dog to BNC for a 5 day stay. I was impressed how they were set-up to make a variety of dogs feel at home. BNC has a clean smell, all the dogs I saw seemed calm enough, and I liked how BNC seemed proactive in regards to preventative care. Their staff seemed friendly enough to me and played with my dog quite a bit during his stay. My dog was excited to see me yet wasn't anxious when I picked him up. I will start off by saying that I will never take my dog to this place again. From the first time we went there to take a tour, they have been argumentative with everything we asked. There online policies do not match what they tell you. With the two times that we have used this place for boarding our dog, they have messed up the food. My dog is on raw food so we give them exactly the amount needed for each stay. The first time we came home with extra which means they did not feed him enough and the second time they ran out of food for us and my in-law's dog. How do you run out of food for both dogs. My dog lost 6 lbs in one week. It was not from missing one day of food. They obviously did not separate the dogs when feeding and my dogs food was eaten throughout the week. It has been three weeks since we picked up my dog and he is still not the same. My dog has lost 10% of his body weight. I will never take my dog back to this place. Very small inside for the dogs and they obviously are in over their heads and do not know very much about taking care of dogs. read more

I boarded my dog for about a week and when I went to pick him up I was told that he had chewed the bottom of the door to his room. I was showed pictures and was told to pay $135 for the damages. I did not see the actual damages. This dog has never chewed a thing before. If he did it probably was because he had been neglected. I will not board there again. read more

There is NO WAY you took all of the steps to make sure that my dog had eaten. If that were the case he wouldn't have lost five pounds while in your care! I'm sorry you would rather not have me share your businesses weaknesses, but that's what customers do when they have a bad experience repeatedly. "Loyalty" as you asked means to me that years ago when I found your business you were exclusively where I took my dog, I brought over a dozen other people there with their animals, so to clarify that's what I call loyalty. I am not upset that it's so difficult to get my dog in there, I am upset at the way the phone call was handled and this is not the first time (as you know because we have spoken on two separate previous occasions about issues at your business). Your employee was not at all concerned about helping me find an appointment that worked for me she just wanted me to know how big you were growing and how busy you were. I would remind you your growth is in large part due to those of us who have been there for so long. I would recommend putting a little more into customer service to uphold your growth. read more

My parents take their dog here for doggy day care. This place is a life saver, (both work) and it allows their dog to be with other dogs (and not at home alone for 8 hours a day). Before bringing your dog I recommend you take a tour, the place is open and clean. They also let the dogs run outside during good weather. My parents' dog gets to interact with dogs and has a blast. She comes home exhausted from her 8 hours of playtime. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for daycare or boarding. Great friendly staff and they really care for the dogs! I'll never take my dog to this place again. The staff is rude and disrespectful. They are very errant with reservations, as well as following directions when it comes to feeding and medicine. They returned medicine and food on our first overnight stay. I was puzzled but let it slide the first time as I thought I may not have given them specific enough directions. After calling them 2 days prior to our reservation for the 2nd overnight stay, we showed up and they had no record of our reservation. We then got into it with the staff there. BNC has groomed our Golden Retriever, Jaxon, for years. Stephanie does a fabulous job with him! We also have boarded him on a couple of occasions- while he is VERY tired when we get him home, I feel he has gotten good care. The business is always clean and never has a "doggy" smell.
