My dog had a severe allergic reaction to the cleaning solution after only a few hours during her first visit. After further asking, I was told they use Fabuloso and Bleach mixed with water to clean the outdoor area and dog suites. They said it is a pet friendly cleaner - this is not stated on the Fabuloso website. Staff did not seem concerned about my dog's reaction which turned into an infection, spent $200+ for emergency vet to get allergy meds and antibiotics. My dog didn't move for 2 days and it was painful for her to walk and go outside. Called this location 3 separate times talking to different people about the issue, there was no concern for my dog's condition, empathy or calls to follow-up. I'm new in town and this was my first time using a facility - very disappointed. read more

Finding a groomer is never easy. Finding one that can handle my 58 lb wheelchair bound Chow is next to impossible. Shannon tackled the job like the pro she is. She slid him in and out of his wheelchair with ease (58 lbs!) and understood the special concerns that arise when a pet has special needs. She was able to address his trouble spots, gave me some wonderful recommendations for daily care that will improve our hygiene routine, and gave him a dapper cut to boot! Because of his wheelchair I'm used to his haircuts being more functional than aesthetic. Thanks to Shannon he's not only got a functional cut, but he's easily the most dapper old man on the block! I will definitely be a regular and recommend Ruff Luxury for anyone who loves to pamper their furbabies! read more

Ruff luxury Inn - Getting spoiled by his groomer - Pet Sitting Near Me - Valparaiso, Indiana

I like this place but am somewhat disappointed. They've always accommodated my schedule and sometimes last minute requests when they have room. They are incredibly clean/sanitary and never have to worry about my dogs when they're here. Staff is excellent and knowledgeable regarding handling and needs of every dog. They even give you report cards on when your dog was played with and what they did and how the dog responded. My only disappointment was the lack of interaction with other dogs and the fact that the dogs will spend the majority of their stay in their "room". They are supposed to have 6 - 30 minute playtimes but depending on staff and number of dogs I doubt that happens as the indoor play area is not very big and the outdoor runs can only be used is favorable weather. Also it was rare that they put any dogs together as I believe they are overly cautious about pairing of dogs. Most of the report cards I received was just my dog playing with a staff member. I understand caution but my whole reason for daycare is for my dog to interact and socialize with other dogs not just sit in a room and hopefully get taken out for playtimes. And the amount of play times are not enough in my opinion. When I pick her up she is over exuberant to leave which tells me she's been sitting not playing. I know this as I now use a person that does it out of her home and when my dogs come back from her place they are exhausted/content/calm. Wish they could combine cocoas canine cabana with this place and it would be perfect. read more

I recently rescued a dog this past Saturday, which happened to be the second hottest day of the year with the am temps already in the mid 80's. I waited for police and/or animal control for over an hour with no one showing. After untying the poor dog from the stop sign that he was tied to, I sent my wife a picture of the dog and told her the story. She immediately told me to get him in the car to get him cool and get him some water. I waited a little while longer and still no police or animal control. I ended up bringing him home and took him to the vet and got him a vet check/ meds needed to get him to a groomer and hopefully find a microchip so we can locate the owners. Unfortunately no chip was found. Looks like we have an addition to our family. We checked around our town for a reputable groomer and found one that sounded great. All the reviews were great. On top of all of the reviews, the owner was a local police k9 officer. Couldn't get better than that. All was going great until we contacted the facility. No answer. Called multiple times and still no answer. Kinda figured they were super busy because of all the reviews. We decided to stop by and set the pup up with a well deserved grooming. That's where it went down hill from there. First, it was not busy at all. Only 2 people with no animals were at the front desk and they were having a leisurely conversation with a gentleman behind the desk. I waited patiently and finally they decided to move out of the way and the man behind the counter seemed annoyed by my mere presence. I asked him about the grooming price/requirements and he cut me off and pointed in a direction behind me and said to talk to the groomers. I asked where and he obnoxiously said "follow the paw prints." Thousand apologies sir, it's my first time here. Sorry don't read minds. When I made my way to the grooming area, I apparently interrupted a conversation between 3 women, only 1 that was actually doing something. This seems to be a trend around this facility. After explaining the purpose of the visit, the lady that was doing work stated that they were booked at least three weeks in advance. I asked if there were any cancellations and the dire need to get this poor dog a grooming. They said no without looking at the days appointments. I even offered to pay an additional fee because he was in dire need of a haircut. When exiting the building, everyone said bye without looking up from their electronic devices. No customer service AT ALL. SAD. I expected more out of a place that's run by a police officer, especially a police K9 officer. read more

I had never used this boarding facility before, my regular one was full so thought I would give it a try. The facility is clean and the staff seemed nice, but they are a bit pricy in comparison with others. Eight days was 340 dollars for only one dog. This is what I paid for two at Dog Paradise and all the kennels are suites. They also don't provide web cams at this time either. So you pay more for less. If you are going to charge more than everyone else then you need to provide what they offer. My dog seemed well cared for and in good spirits when I picked him up. It is a new facility so hopefully over time it will get better. read more

We just started taking our pup to this facility for daycare and so far I am very impressed with this place! You can totally tell that the owner and all the employees are dog lovers. On their Facebook page all the dogs pictured seem so happy. Facility is very clean, boarding rooms are nice sized, indoor dog park is kept very clean and so are the outdoor dog runs. We haven't used the groomer there yet but I do plan on making an appointment with them. We were taking our pup to another facility that went downhill really quick so we didn't have much time to find a new place. Thank God a friend recommended this place. This facility will be the only place we will take our girl from now on! She is so well taken care of here! I HIGHLY recommend this company for daycare or boarding!!! read more

Giving 5 stars because the groomers are excellent, and the facility is clean they treat the dogs really well. I have been taking my dog here for awhile, however I just rescued another dog three weeks ago he was malnourished and could not get his shots yet, because his immune system was compromised. I walked into Ruff Luxury to inquire about daycare, since I had only used them for grooming and didn't know much about their other services, anyway I walked in holding my dog and I had my teenage daughter with me. The receptionist was very nice and volunteered to hold my puppy so I could do a tour, because my puppy wasn't allowed to tour with me (which I totally understood) however the other woman piped up and said "absolutely not you can't go back there and she can't hold your dog!) so I said "okay no problem I will have my daughter sit in the car with him, and I will take the tour." The very rude woman proceeds to tell me in a very condescending tone 'if you're going to do that you better turn that car on!" Seriously!! Like she thought I was going to leave my daughter and the puppy in the car to freeze to death. The whole conversation was very accusatory like it was my fault the dog I rescued was malnourished and couldn't have shots yet, and I was going to commit a crime of animal cruelty. read more
