I'm here to tell you, River Valley Pet Resort in Momence is NOT the place to board your dog. I had…read morea really bad experience. You think you're getting this clean environment, friendly staff and well taken care of dog but what you don't know is they don't let them out the 3 times a day that they say let alone have someone pet them and give them attention... who knows if she even got food and water like said. If you want the short version, I picked up my dog and a day later she came down with a UTI from having to hold it for so long because shes HOUSE BROKE and not one to just take a leak in the kennel. The vet found blood and extra protein in her pee sample. She was peeing on herself today and shaking and that's what finally made me take her to the vet but the other two days prior she was vomiting and super lethargic and barely left her one spot. I thought she just brought home a stomach bug from the pet resort which very well could have been but also turns out she had a severe UTI as well. ALSO..... they don't answer their damn phone so that goes to show that nobody is even there! The poor dogs sit in this "garage" all day long and do nothing other than be caged. I was just gonna talk to the owner and settle all of this but now as i get to be out $325, she gets bad reviews Bella suffered for 4 long days at the kennel and now probably another week while she gets over this UTI.

I don't know what I would do with out them. Plus they are affiliated with the animal rescue as well. oh by the way your website for the resort is incorrect on the link you have (it says rivervalleypetresort.com--and it doesn't go to your website--you should really fix that) Thanks for all you do.

I didn't notice this until I got home because the dogs (I have two that were there to be done) were screaming and barking - so I left quickly. I left a $15.00 tip on top of it. They didn't bother to tell me about this nasty chunk out of her eye area. Just barely missed her eyeball. On top of it their hair cuts are not the best - always had good grooming but today's was terrible. Possibly new groomer??? I'm upset and won't be taking my dogs back. I did really like going here.

After further asking, I was told they use Fabuloso and Bleach mixed with water to clean the outdoor area and dog suites. They said it is a pet friendly cleaner - this is not stated on the Fabuloso website. Staff did not seem concerned about my dog's reaction which turned into an infection, spent $200+ for emergency vet to get allergy meds and antibiotics. My dog didn't move for 2 days and it was painful for her to walk and go outside. Called this location 3 separate times talking to different people about the issue, there was no concern for my dog's condition, empathy or calls to follow-up. I'm new in town and this was my first time using a facility - very disappointed.

Dawn, the Kennel Manager, was very responsive, very professional, and very concern about the welfare of all the pups at their facility. She called our vet and checked up on us, I thought that was great. The place was as clean as you can hope an animal shelter can be. We drove an hour to RVAR in hopes that this cute pup would fit into our family. Dawn brought us into a room and then brought our pup into the room. She sat with us for awhile and watched. Then she gave us as much time as we needed alone with our pup. We absolutely fell in love our new baby. He's the perfect fit for our family and we decided to adopt him. RVAR rescued him, his 2 siblings, and their mom from a kill shelter in Kentucky and we will be forever grateful to RVAR! Dawn took our first family photo and she even checked in with us the next day to see how we were all doing. Thank you Dawn and RVAR..... 5 STARS!!!!
