Cost me $130 for the inspection. The guy didn't really know what he was doing. I had to tell him to check the compressor. He'd only checked the capacitor and couldn't figure out why the condenser kept tripping the circuit breaker. It was the bad compressor that was drawing too much power. If I hadn't told him to check the compressor, I would have been out $130 and no closer to knowing what was wrong with my AC. Once WE had figured out what was wrong, he told me it would be $4900 to replace the compressor and immediately tried to steer me toward replacing the entire condenser. I got two quotes from them this week for condenser replacement. One was $8900 with a Trane unit and the other was $9050 with a Lenox unit. I ended up going with another company, which is charging me $2900 to just replace the compressor. That's $2000 less than the Lakeside H & AC quoted me for the same work. I did have to pay $120 for a second inspection but it was worth it. I might have been able to get my AC working again for even less money with another company but after being without AC for 10 days during a heat wave, I was ready to just get the work done. Here's some VERY important information about HVAC: Private equity firms are moving into this sector and driving prices through the roof. The bigger the company, the flashier their vans, the more likely they're owned by one of these firms and if you go with them you'll be paying WAY more than you have to. Again, shop around! Go with small companies or even a single guy with a beat-up, old van. You might even be able to find one that won't charge you for the inspection or at least charge you less. Chances are they'll do just as good a job if not better and they'll do it for A WHOLE LOT less.

Our 2 story house is roughly 3300 sq ft including the basement. The builder previous name William Lyon at the time installed all the homes with a 2.5 Ton Rheem A/C. Based on my amateur research a 3000 sq ft house should of required a 4-5 Ton system to effectively cool the house. After just one year the A/C was not cooling down below 75. TM warranty department called Eastside and sent out Efren the tech to diagnose the problem he found out the TXV (thermal expansion valve) was bad and ordered the part for replacement. Efren came back a week later and replaced the part and he was very detailed and friendly and even cleaned the coils inside the A/C fan. Now the A/C is much better and I can cool down to 70 degrees on a hot day. I've heard conflicting answers on wether or not to close vents in basement for more airflow to upstairs. What I did is I kept one basement vent open but closed rest of them and upstairs does indeed get more cooler air. One more thing I learned is that A/C systems do not draw fresh air from the outside instead they recirculate indoor air. With all the recent smoke pollution, it's actually better to keep windows closed and use A/C. Even though I believe our builder A/C is undersized for the house, but the team at Eastside have been very helpful and professional and I highly recommend them for HVAC work. I asked what was the base price for time worked and he said there was not one. However in the past a service call was 98 which included 1 hour. We'll he reset and replaced the blower. It ran for.2.5 days and everything stopped. Called the next.morning and he came out. It had working again and nothing acted like anything was wrong. That same evening it quit again. We were.cold despite using oven and space heaters I did not get much sleep. I went over and over the furnace unable to determine way it would not start. I got the info on the blower and looked it up. Found it was actually 150 dollars. Then thinking the furnace seems fine, no errors on the led I pulled the thermostat and checked for power. That was perfect. So I put a jumper direct and the furnace started and ran. Cycled it 4 times without incident. Tested resistance on the thermostat itself and.found was malfunctioning. Let it run for three days without a problem. I called the company and the woman basically provided an oh well. So it's pretty unlikely I Will be using them. ​

They charged us for an inspection that was clearly not done properly, pushed us to replace perfectly functional parts at nearly 10 times the market price, and literally laughed in my face while telling me my HVAC system was "shitty" and needed to be replaced. Three days later, the system had another issue because they completely failed to identify the actual problem. We were then pushed yet again toward more interventions and more part replacements by a manager who had never even seen the HVAC system himself and could only give vague explanations about what the issue "could" be. When I later requested my file, pictures, and full documentation from the visit, nothing was ever sent. No transparency whatsoever. We finally contacted another amazing company ALTITUD BRO HVAC-- which I strongly recommend -- and unlike UHCPC, they actually inspected everything properly. They identified the issue immediately and charged us only $400 for something that probably would have cost us over $2,000 with UHCPC. What a joke. And the funniest part? They're apparently just as bad with plumbing. We worked with them in the past on another property and, after charging us over $20,000, not only were they unable to properly fix the issues, but they also damaged one of our showers. Matt Robledo, the owner, even told us he had to fire his plumber Dave because "he was not good" and promised us compensation or future repair credits. Of course, none of that ever happened. Once they take your money, they seem to forget your name very quickly.

2026 Update: One of the exterior irrigation pipes has cracked. As a result, the exposed conditions caused the pipe to fail in less than two years. The irrigation contractor will repair the damaged pipe; however, it is likely that other pipes replaced during the 2025 repairs will experience similar failures over time due to the use of the same unsuitable materials.

However, what gets me, is that Tri Peaks doesn't actually DO plumbing; they contract this out to a 3rd Party Company, which wasn't disclosed at all. I have someone arrive and say they are from Mr. Perfect Plumber, which caused some confusion as I vetted Tri Peaks - I didn't vet Mr. Perfect Plumbing . . . The guy from Mr. Perfect Plumbing explained the situation and was nice enough - a little pushy in terms of selling, and the quote he provided was the highest (40% more than the other highest quotes (5 others) I received for this job. I would rate higher had it been disclosed they don't do plumbing and send out to a 3rd party . . .

The management team and install team have shown they want to create a positive customer experience and expressed intent to maintain a 10+ year relationship. I look forward to wrapping up the final items and updating my review with the full experience. The install is complete, however, the process has been frustrating. I went with Plumbline because of the Costco relationship. The communication in the sales process to the install was frustrating getting commitment on what hot water heater would be installed (Model # and specs). I will be updating with more details around experience with communication on the job, Costco rebate, and commitment what is being installed. During install I was surprised with the add-on pricing. I understand these are highly skilled workers who deserve to be paid well and I hope the company makes a profit so they can be around to support my HVAC & plumbing needs. With so many trades on site I thought there may be a savings in having them complete the electrical & plumbing upgrades they recommended. $450 for outdoor faucet replacement, +$684 for water pressure regulator, $450 to install a $120 surge protector that was done in ~20min, $1,164 to replace a 6' flex gas line from the wall to hot water heater. This is on an already $26k job with full HVAC and hot water heater and all trades on site with materials in their truck. I was hopeful to bring these other items up to date at a fair cost with one appointment. Maybe this is the reality of what plumbing costs these days. The install crew HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing were all great and I appreciate their work.

We had a 3 year old furnace, and they recommended we match the furnace equipment. (They also conveniently worked with and stocked that same brand). The estimator left and we had a full quote and contract emailed to us quickly. The quote was very fairly priced. It was exactly what I imagined a new AC unit would cost with installation. I was able to price out the equipment myself, and it wasn't unreasonable given the labor involved. I did get several quotes from other HVAC companies and all the other quotes were several thousand dollars more, and did not quote the same brand. Tobin gave us everything we wanted. We scheduled the work a few weeks later and again Tobin's people arrived promptly during the specified time frame. They got to work removing the old equipment and installed the new units, lines, electrical and got everything charged up and tested. The whole process took less than 5 hours. They gave me some tips, answered any questions I had and generally did a good clean job. I would highly recommend Tobin. The other big name guys charged a big name price. Tobin doesn't appear to have nearly as big of an advertising presence, but they were just as professional. No doubt they get a lot of customers through word of mouth, since that's how we heard about them! If you're reading this review, give them a shot!

Chris, our sales rep. took the time to do a manual J measurement throughout the house to ensure we were getting the right system for the house, which none of the other contractors even considered. After showing me all the options, we went with their RUUD top of the line system which came with a multi stage furnance, variable stage AC, and a heat pump. They applied the rebates offered by Xcel, so we didn't have to wait for the rebates, we just signed over the rebates to them during the sales process. The installers were top notch, kind, and ensured they took good care of our home. I couldnt be happier and highly recommend them. From a price point, they came out thousands less than the closest competitor, and I'd note the closest competitor wasn't willing to do a transfer of the rebates. We would have had to claim those after the sale.
