Joe came for a routine servicing of my heater and humidifier. I always have multiple questions and he patiently answered and explained various functions of my system, allowing me time to write copious notes. He offered multiple ways I can save money for future services, even going on Amazon to show me what parts # to order and what it would cost & why that could be a good option. When I booked the service Marissa (front desk person) helped me in a similar way that helped me decide the installed air purifier is not something I need. But that decision was partially made after she told me the part # I could order to save on servicing it if I chose to activate the purifier. They came out and gave me a quote and then said that they couldn't find any scaffolding to do the job (I waited for weeks while they "searched" for a place to rent scaffolding from), and ended up wanting me to rent the scaffolding to do the work. I called another contractor and they said there was absolutely no need for scaffolding on my house. They did not try hard at all to solve a very simple problem. A simple google search shows you can rent scaffolding from about 50 different places in Denver so it is frustrating that they could not figure out how to get the basic equipment needed for this work. read more

We called Lakeside after a very frustrating experience with another company. Our older furnace began stopping intermittently. After the first company was unable/unwilling to investigate the issue, I did a little research and called Lakeside. We used Lakeside to replace a central A/C unit, and were entirely satisfied with their service. When they came out to bid the job, they were patient and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions while walking us through our different options. A/C units are expensive, and we appreciated the information and competitive pricing Lakeside provided. The Lakeside team that installed the A/C unit was also top notch. We chose a system that is new to the U.S. market (Daikin), and were pleased that Lakeside was a certified installer for the brand. (Only a couple companies in Denver are certified, and the first company that bid the job made us feel icky.) Becky, your installer said the dogs could not be in the house or outside and needed to be put somewhere else. That's when we said we had no place to put the dogs. Contracted Lakeside Plumbing to install a new heater and A/C unit, walked off the job after 15 minutes because we had 2 dogs. Told us they would not do the work with the dogs on the property. We were not informed of this when we signed a contract. They did not try to work out an alternate solution. They then voided our contract. Our dogs are friendly and even told the workmen when they arrived that the dogs are rambunctious at first but would settle down in about 15 minutes. Would not recommend this company. read more

My first experience with LH&A was when I purchased a rental property that had previously had a service contract with them. I just wanted to take the time to give a great shout out to this place. It's so hard to find good service these days, but Lakeside really has a steady and reliable pattern of good service. I have them out every year to clean and service my furnace before I use it for the winter and they also installed my new hot water heater about 6yrs ago for 1/2 what some of the other places were quoting for it. I also just spoke on the phone with Bill today (it's only a couple of days after Christmas, so it's nice he's so available). I had some questions about noises that my hot water heater makes and got some nice reassurance that it's all fine and running properly. I just so appreciate Bill taking the time to talk with me, brainstorm issues and ideas around the questions I had, and be so understanding about my concerns. I highly recommend this place. Wow is all I can say. As someone said, "Tony without a doubt is the man!" And I would have to agree. They came and installed a mini-split system in our home. Mick, their installer, is the man! He was very professional and friendly. He answered all my questions and concerns. His assistant Brandon was also very professional. The installation went without any issues. We are very happy with the installation and product (Daiken). Though we did get it installed right after the hot weather cooled, I have to say the heat on these works fantastic! Called to get a quote on installing a house humidifier and was disappointed to hear they won't install other's products. This didn't make sense to me as they don't manufacture the products. I told them I already had the unit and simply said that they won't install other's products and abruptly hung up. Unfortunately for them they had no idea we also needed a new furnace as well. These guys had great reviews but my first impression of customer service from this company was less than impressive. read more

I love this company. I can't say enough good things about them and their friendly customer service. We had them install an Evaporation Cooler in our home recently and they were so professional while working in our home. Bill that came out to give us an estimate was great. He was honest with us and I felt he knew a lot about the business and what he was selling us, he explained everything to us in a way we could understand. We felt very good in choosing them over another company that came out. They were much cheaper on the same exact unit...they beat the other company by $1,000 (no joke!!) The unit was installed in one day and they cleaned up after themselves...it was like they were not even here. I highly recommend them to anyone needing service or new installation. Lakeside Heating figured out why my air conditioner was not working. Their conclusion: a broken condensor fan motor. They offered to fix it for a 799 dollars flat fee during a heat wave. I subsequently had somebody else analyse the problem during a cooler season, and they concluded that it stopped functioning because an auxilary safety switch that is designed to keep the unit from freezing had broken. This switch is an optional feature in one of the lines, that is not necessary for the unit to function. The switch was initially installed by Lakeside along with the original air conditioner, without me being aware of it. Simply bypassing the switch solved the problem , which cost a fraction of 799 dollars. read more

Very friendly, family-owned business. We were impressed right away with their services and professional manner. We just recently had an air conditioner installed and what we were hoping for was good value and service. We had another company come and give us an estimate a few months ago and Lakeside gave an estimate almost $2000 less. The previous estimate included a whole bunch of additional duct work they claimed we would need. Lakeside didn't try to rope us into additional work that was unnecessary and costly. Lesson here: Go with supporting a local business and both service and price will make you happy. read more

Update to first review (below); sadly had to take off a star. i had a part break and called them and (it turns out new) receptionist was kinda bitchy. Also, she said i would get a call back and i didn't for a week, so i called them. The owner said he very sorry and apologized profusely. He said he would call back once he got the part. ...guess what? never called back, so i called again. He had the part and dropped it off and promised to fix it in the spring (its a swamp cooler so i am not using it. I am sure he will, but it was too much hassle. I have figured out that they are very good at getting your business, but not so great at keeping it. Original review: Very happy with the service, fast install and price. They also called right back when I called them a few weeks later because I thought it wasn't working. Turned out that a house sitter had turned off the water supply to the cooler! Saddens me to say it, but Lakeside just didn't meet an acceptable performance standard for me. The technician set off CO detectors in my house (OK, I understand, torches will do that) but then he didn't seem aware of the problem until I pointed it out. He also shut off the hot water heater and failed to turn it back on. That meant a cold shower the next days and some time lying on the floor before work to restart it. And he left the worn out boiler parts and other, associated trash around the work area for me to clean up. A little more training, and little more mindfulness is in order here. read more

Lakeside installed my a/c a few years ago and was the most prompt and professional company I received an estimate from. They have since come out to repair my furnace, again prompt and professional. I can not recommend Lakeside Heat and Air Conditioning enough. The $95 charge others are referring to seems a standard same day charge that any company would similarly charge for an "emergency" visit. Having completed several home projects over the past year, Lakeside Heating & AC was the best contractor I've worked with. Had a big job with a very large old furnace that needed to be replaced to install new central AC. I had a bunch of companies out to bid the project. Tony came out, was great at explaining everything and was very honest and upfront about what was needed. No pressure and very willing to put together numerous bids for differing levels of products with 2 different brands. There are lots of potential combinations with heating and AC equipment so it was nice to have everything laid out with all Xcel rebates already factored in and taken off the top. Lakeside was always responsive by phone and email, gave courtesy calls that they were on their way, showed up on time and were professional. Tony, Adam and Mick were all great. I'm in an old house and they were happy to install things in a way that worked best for the space; for example, they rerouted a gas line to give more ceiling height, which wasn't by any means required but overall made for a much nicer finished product. Having had the system for several months now, I couldn't be happier with the performance. No more cold spots in the house in the winter and really comfortable on these hot summer days. Amazing how much you can have these high efficiency systems on and yet how low the energy bills have been. Couldn't recommend them more! read more

Had a pretty big job replacing an old, gas forced air, huge furnace. The gas lines in the house went right through the middle of the room. Mick was my installer, and he really went the extra mile in finding a better path to the new furnace, that wouldn't interfere with the room as much. He added a vent that could be opened in the furnace room, as it's shared by the washer and dryer and it could be nice not freezing, when going down to do laundry. The new ducting setup really has changed the comfort level of heating throughout the house. It's just the first night with the new furnace, but I'm very happy with the quality of product, and professionalism I received over the last two days, especially from Mick. read more

Our furnace went out and we initially called a different company which claimed we needed various new parts which would total about $1400, and recommended we get a new furnace. Called Lakeside the get a second opinion and they came out and fixed the furnace the next day for only $250 and told us we in fact did not need those extra parts that had originally recommended for repair!!! Our technician, Tony was very professional and had the new part put in and our heat back up and running within an hour. I've had a broken air conditioner for a few weeks, and after my landlord's failed attempts at coordinating a repair, he gave up and dumped the responsibilty on me to get it fixed. I called Lakeside, and they were able to send somebody out the same day. John arrived when they said he would, and he went above and beyond to make sure they were able to help me. My building evidently was inspected by 3rd graders, b/c none of the air-conditioning units on the roof are labeled. So there is no logical or easy way of identifying which compressor/ac thingamagig on the roof corresponds to specific units in the building. This didn't stop John, he took the next hour or so of going on the roof and having me flip breakers, etc...so he could hear which unit might be activating. This exhaustive effort finally paid off b/c he was able to identify mine (and label it), and as a result, fix my a/c. So hurray, a/c is fixed, right? Well, not so fast...due to yet another inspection flaw in my building the area in my ceiling where the fan unit lives hangs too low and close to the enclosure's opening...multiple tries to cover it, resulted in pinched wires, and blowing a fuse, and a myriad of other issues. Now it's getting late on a Friday afternoon, and I've gotta jet, so he says that they'll come back on Monday to fix it up. They called twice over the weekend to check in and see if I could accommodate a repair on the weekend (I couldn't). I called first thing Monday morning, they set an appt that worked with my schedule, came over fixed the problem in under an hour, and didn't charge anything extra. After a short delay due to a measurement error, everything else went very smooth. Their prices were very reasonable. They even beat Costco on price and warranty. Their workers did a clean job and explained all of the new equipment. I had an AC and two Humidifiers installed. A stand for the AC had to be mounted on the roof. The initial measurements were in error. This was noticed quickly by the installers. Bill corrected the error and rescheduled the install a week later. We had a new furnace installed a few weeks ago and we were very pleased with Lakeside's quality of customer service. I requested an appointment online and within the hour a rep was calling me to confirm my appointment and get any other details about what we were looking for. Within a few days we had the owner at our house to check out our crawl space set up and go through furnace options with us. We appreciated that he was up front with us about the different types of furnaces and which ones would be practical for our needs and layout of our home as well as providing a decent ROI. We agreed on a complete install price at that time and all charges were detailed out. We had our new furnace install scheduled for the following week. Their office called to confirm the appointment the day before and their service guys called about a half hour prior to the appointment to indicate they were on their way. Throughout the day long install the service guys were conscientious about tracking dirt through our home and being considerate of our belongings & cleaned up after themselves. The inspection with the city passed on condition that we have the service guys come back up and attach a gas line that was left hanging. There was no need to have another inspection though. When I contacted Lakeside they had someone out within a few days to quickly do the fix. If your furnace is in a crawl space, make sure they measure your opening prior to the install. Unfortunately our crawl space opening is smaller than the standard size of furnaces these days and so the service guys had to cut the opening a little larger which resulted in us having to get a new door for it. It would've been ideal to have known this prior to the install taking place so that we could've been a bit more prepared. Lakeside pricing was better than quotes I'd received from another area HVAC company - nearly $1000 less for a similar model. That is enough right there for me. But more importantly, when they came to see our system and make an estimate, the gentlemen did right then, he gave me helpful advice on our current system that saved money (which the others did not), was saddened at the unnecessary things the other companies advised, and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. He told me, "I wouldn't install anything else here, period." I appreciated his clarity and willingness to provide help regardless of whether or not I purchased from Lakeside. Lakeside heating did not follow through with their contract to install a boiler that they stated they would install in my home. When the installation crew arrived they did all they could do to avoid doing the work. The crew leader took the position that I did not choose the "right" equipment for my home and that I would need to excavate part of my yard and dig out the crawl space in order to install the equipment that the owner and sales person had instructed them to perform. It was obvious to me that the scope of the work was too complicated for the installers to perform and they needed to find a reason not to do the work, so they blamed me the homeowner for their lack of knowledge as the equipment was available to manage all of their complaints but they were not interested in trying to problem solve the situation but were interested in not doing the work they had agreed to install at a very high price which I had agreed to initially. Lastly I as the homeowner I was not consulted regarding their decision to refuse to do the work they had agreed to perform, the problem was that the installers were not capable of reading the manufacturers installation instructions which contradicted their decision and the parts were available to facilitate the installation. Overall Lakeside wasted over a week of my time while we had no heat!!! I found a competent company in Aaark Companies and they did a great job with courteous employees and professional communications and problem solving that included me the homeowner and customer. I probably need to state the house was a rental with the tenant freezing while this was all transpiring. I installed the least expensive solution rather than have the tan ant freeze! read more

STOP!! BEWARE!!! I believe these people are dishonest!!!!! I was out of town in Ct and this company was asked to do a HVAC inspection. I was told that my 15yr old furnace had a cracked heat ex-changer, and that it was leaking CO all over the house, and it must be replaced. They never offered any shred of evidence, no video, no pics of an instrument...nothing. I was immediately suspicious. I decided to do my own match test and was pleased to find it passed. I then hired a different company who inspected it thoroughly, to which I witnessed this time, and noticed zero cleaning or inspecting fingerprints were on the equipment from the previous Lakeside tech, as if not a single panel had ever been removed. As you might imagine, the furnace and AC passed inspection easily. Having another company inspect my equipment saved me a quoted cost of $4200 by Lakeside. I will NEVER deal with this company again!!!!!!!! read more
