    Mini desserts
    Mariya G.

Loved the cake I ordered for my sister's birthday, passion fruit and chocolate was a great combo! I will advise their website doesn't work for actually placing the order; the day after I placed an order I needed to call the bakery to place the order and prepay. Make sure you confirm your order! When I went to pick up the cake I couldn't leave without buying some mini treats for myself out of the case!

I have been getting cakes here for all my employees' birthdays for 3 years because they are delicious, fresh and not too sweet, but the service is getting worse and worse every time unfortunately. today I went to drink cappuccino with my husband, the girl counted dimes for cents and out of twenty-five cents we were given 80 cents in change, of course we threw this money at the tip, but it spoils the overall impression of a good place. we also waited a long time for one drink, because there were no clean mugs, there was no one else there at the time. so my conclusion is that the desserts are awesome, and the service needs improvement, I'm not sure if I'll come back here in the near future.

Hmm... my budget tracker tells me I've been here 3x in 2 weeks! Maybe not the best plan for my waistline, but I couldn't help it! Each day, there's 15ish mini pastries to choose from ranging from $1.79-$1.99. They're the perfect size to have a taste of everything. Fancy individual cakes and pastries are $5-6 and perfect for celebrating a Happy Every Day! Outside of this, there's various 6-8" case cakes, cookies including macarons, and a few bar options. Espresso drinks are also available, but they don't do it iced. Lately, I've enjoyed the mini blueberry lavender pastry, pistachio apricot pastry, and almond marzipan mini. The coconut chocolate individual cake was so appealing to the eyes, but most of the flavor of the sweet was a coconut mousse and lacking a bit in cake layer. My oldest toddler inhales their macarons, and usually she doesn't eat much unless you stuff it in her mouth. I ordered an 8" pistachio strawberry torte from here also. It's dome shaped and decorated with macarons on the outside. The girl at the front could've done a better job with a greeting upon my entrance, and when she couldn't hear what I said, she mumbled a careless "huh?" Also, considering I spent almost $50 on a cake, it would've been nice to receive a macaron that looked a little better, but the staling blueberry one I got was drastically mismatched as far as size of the top and bottom cookie. No wonder she gave that one to me... she grabbed it from the back, as the display case was still being set up, and I couldn't see what she had put into the box. Anyway, the decorating on the dome torte was creative and lovely! I was expecting way more ratio of almond cake layers to pistachio mousse, since the majority of your cake slice will end up being mousse. The strawberry compote layer in the middle and the crunch added inside the cake was a nice touch. Plan to be back at some point for sure!

Amazing place! The desserts are fantastic! Unfortunately, I took a picture just of one stand with desserts but they have more and different kinds. I was impressed by the incredible variety they offer! The quality of desserts is also wonderful and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and nice. The staff were friendly and nice, happy to guide me through their extensive menu and offer recommendations. Can't wait to come back there again!

I found Lana's Dazzling Desserts from Yelp a few years ago, I ordered a Mango Mousse Cake for a family birthday party, it was a big hit, even my mom who is picky with cakes loved it! Lana's has become our favorite bakery since then! Their cakes are consistently good, both esthetically and taste wide. The decorations are elegant and beautiful, and the cakes are not extremely sweet. The ratio is more mousse and less cake, if you like mousse, their cakes are for you! Actually, if you go to their "Cakes and Tortes" menu on their website, just click on any cake picture, and it will show you a cut piece of that cake! So, you know exactly what are inside the cakes. Other than the Mango Mousse Cake, our other favorite is the Pistachio Strawberry Torte, which sometimes comes in sphere shape that is more fun looking. I also like the Triple Chocolate Cake which is very creamy and rich, and is definitely ideal for the chocolate-lovers! I used to order cakes for our special days, now as we are only having cakes for our immediate family during the Pandemic, I would just go there to pick one. There are so many good choices available that it is not hard to find one to purchase! For now, the 6" and 8" cakes at the store are $30 and $50 each respectively. I also love to buy their individual pastries for my mom when I go to visit her, and she just loves them! The staff at Lana's are also pretty accommodating, and they handle the cakes and pastries with great care!

Again amazing cakes and deserts even during a global pandemic. I purchased the passion fruit cake, omg it is soooo beautiful and sooooo delicious. Tastes like a vacation on the beach with a drink in your hand. Got a mini of the chocolate raspberry, fabulous for chocolate lovers. Tried the pistachio and it was a five star. Also purchased one of the mini mangoes it was so light and tropical loved it

Coconut chocolate cake with mango. Mmm

My favorite bakery. Cakes and pastries are not only beautiful but delicious as well. Or go to for special occasions and weekend treats.

It says to phone to place an order. I called and the person who answered did not speak English. So I went elsewhere.

It's a bit dark inside but not enough to be really bothersome. It can also be loud but we were fortunate to pick a time when it wasn't crowded. For our meals, two people had cheap salads and one had a Caesar salad. All were good. For our meals, two people shared a thin crust pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. One had the Cowboy Sandwich and I had the Mr. Miyagi wrap. Portions are huge and the food is good overall. The Cowboy Sandwich was huge and very good. My Mr. Miyagi wrap was also good. It could have had a little more chicken on it, but it was fine. (The aioli had a nice kick to it.) For the pizza, the dough was a little bit sweet. The edges were crusty like Chicago tavern pizza but the center was a little soggy. As mentioned the service was great - not just the server but the support staff, too.

We started with nachos and Wisconsin cheese curds for the table. Then came the deep dish assault: a pepperoni (15"), a margherita (15"), and a Father George (10", which is what I ordered) between the four of us on pizza duty. We barely made a dent and ended up taking home a ton of leftovers. A few others at the table ordered burgers instead and seemed to enjoy those too. If you're going with a group, order less than you think you need. These pies are enormous and every bite delivers. We all left full and satisfied for hours afterward.

We ordered the Lemon Buttered Sea Bass -- pan-fried Australian sea bass with lemon butter sauce, sautéed asparagus and white rice. The sea bass was perfectly seasoned and really good! The rice, unfortunately, was a bit hard and cold, so that wasn't my favorite. We also got the Secret Garden Roll with avocado, greens, cucumber, asparagus, shiitake mushrooms and pickled radish, rolled in black rice and wrapped in soy paper. Vegetarian and gluten-free. For a gluten-free option, this was actually pleasant and tasty! The restaurant itself is chic and fun, and I think it's a great spot for a date night. The only downside for me was the music. It was SO loud that I felt like I was shouting the entire time just to have a conversation. Overall, we had a nice meal and I'm glad I finally checked out the Arlington Heights location!

Shakou has a few locations including this one which is a casual but classy place. For sure has lots of freshly prepared items. The menu also has lots of specials. Coming in here it wasn't busy. It's because it was early in the evening after it had opened. There's bar seating along with a good amount of tables. Get there at happy hour. There's great savings. It's about $12 for a cocktail. The best we had of these was the Japanese Mule. Great flavor. This is made with ginger beer, Junmai sake, lime juice, lime wedge, and mint. A lot of rolls to choose from. It's about $20 for a specialty roll. At happy hour it's a few bucks off. I got the Secret Garden Roll. This is made with asparagus, avocado, black rice, cucumbers, greens, pickled radish, and shiitake. It actually wasn't that much. Thankfully it wasn't the full price. Got to say it has great flavors. It's closed Mondays. This is located on Vail at Wing in the busy part of town or whatever.

It's a family-owned, grab and go kind of bakery with all the classics. Churros, elote, conchas, and plenty of other panadería favorites. But if there's ONE thing I keep coming back for... It's their tres leches. You can call ahead and order a full sheet cake, or grab an individual slice like the one pictured here. And let me tell you--the cake is SOAKED in milk, exactly how I like my tres leches! Some places are way too stingy with the milk, but Lupita's Bakery does not hold back. The cake is incredibly moist without becoming soggy. The icing is also super light and airy, almost like whipped cream, which I LOVE. And somehow, with all that sweetness, it's not overly sweet at all. Everything just works perfectly together.

There's a nice refrigerated area with tres leches cake slices, flan, and pop. The churros are delicious when they're freshly made - regular cinnamon sugar, filled with chocolate or vanilla. THIS is why I come here! Some of the pastries are hit or miss, maybe depends on when I'm stopping in? The churros however are always good and keeps me coming back.
