What an excellent store! After having spent the day traveling in warm weather, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted with excellent service. The ceiling fan I ended up getting was gorgeous and the quality was top notch. The sales representative was very helpful and informed me of all the brands to consider as well the energy saver brands. It was just an excellent experience. Despite what others seem to be saying, the manager was excellent. He was very knowledgable and helped speed up the process. Walked in and was assisted by Richard but he made things complicated, he confused me and my mom about placing the orders for our new home. So we tried to ask for help from someone else. Then Joe came to us and asked if we needed help with a very warming big smile. He helped us patiently for the rest of the visit and gave us helpful suggestions. I give it one star only because I can't give zero,the lamps are ok but to pricey. But it's ok because if I like it I'll buy it my complain is the service I got. I went for a replacement and an asian guy told me the day before (come back and bring a picture ) so I did also took a part and when I was there I was waiting patiently he saw me,even another worker told him I think she wants you to help her. Well when he got to me he showed me one and said this is all we have and left,then I told him well can you take it out so I can compare it to see if it fits. He did and left me again,so my sister said lets out of here this is ridiculous . When we left she told me some people came in and he helped them right away. I will not shop at this store anymore. They never have enough people to help you, and when someone does come around to help. They act like they are doing you a favor. Maybe corporate should tell there employee's that the customers that are buying are the ones who provide there paychecks. I have to say i love my lamps plus on LaBrea which is where i typically purchase fans, lamps and lampshades but happened to be close to the one on Huntington and had to race to pick up a ceiling fan and a lamp b/c my contractor was going to be installing the fan later that afternoon. I see from other reviews that Linda really struggles to understand the merchandise. Thankfully there were no problems with the fan but not sure where to begin with the lamp. We were thrilled to find a lamp that was on sale since none of the things we like are typically reduced. The lamp that she gave us was the completely wrong lamp. We didn't discover that until we got home and went to assemble it. Called the store and she was incredulous about the mistake but nevertheless told us to come back and she would give us the correct lamp. As though they were right around the corner. We hopped back in the car and drove back over to do the exchange. We picked up the new lamp and put it together but just as we were getting ready to attach the lampshade, we realized it wasn't the correct one and didn't fit the lamp. Called Linda again and asked her to see if we could take the one on the floor. She did check and told me that their lampshades didn't match the lamps. The one on the floor model was bronze. The shade wasn't labeled so she couldn't find it anywhere. The solution was to have her order a brand new lamp w shade and we'd come in to do the exchange. Every time i called lamps plus i had to explain the whole story again and 15 min later they told me that yes, they had no idea where the matching shade was and that the shipment would arrive tuesday. So i trekked back a third time and had to do it all over again but finally got the shade. Who has the time for this! Utter incompetence. I've never been to a store where the salespeople are so clueless. Need some major organization. My advice: go to the store on LaBrea. That said, the ceiling fan is gorgeous. read more

Joseph George of this store is very knowledgeable about the store's products! He helped me pick brand-name products and made recommendations that I had not thought of, that turned out to look great. When he recommended a Casa Blanca fan, he also recommended purchasing 2 different size rods for the contractor to install in case one did not fit. I did. I went in for two lampshades, with the lamps. One lamp had an old torn lampshade on it. When I finally got help from the male employee, I was told how "difficult" it would be to find a new shade, how hard it is to match a lamp and how they didn't have the shades I liked in the store. I replied that I have bought lampshades successfully many times. He then told me to go to a lampshade repair store and walked away. I started searching the lampshades and trying them out on the lamps. There were four of the shades from online in the store. A female employee walked by and asked if I was finding everything OK. I replied, no, not really. She continued to walk by and didn't acknowledge me. I took photos of the lampshades I knew worked well. I may purchase them online, but I certainly wasn't going to purchase them at the store. Nor did I purchase the floor lamp that I was going to buy. All together, I would have been a $300 sale. Richard Low was very professional, patient, consistently helpful. "Tigran" and George of LampsPlus Installations did an excellent job. There were problems with the remote//receiver interaction in a Casablanca Vita fan, and LampsPlus expedited a resolution with Casablanca. This reflects very well on both companies. . read more

After reading other reviews, it also doesn't seem like the company cares that customer service has been a complaint because it doesn't seem to have improved. Some employees on the floor hassle you while other won't even take the time to help you when it's clear you need it or have asked for it. I've had nothing but positive experiences with this store! Assistant Manager Joseph George is the best! He is very professional and stands by his products. I had bought an expensive ceiling fan with LED lighting and it was not functioning right after some time of use. The motor was making noise and the fan was not spinning well while making a bad sound. Joseph was very understanding on the phone and told me to bring it in for an exchange. I brought it in today and Joseph George was so pleasant and easy to work with! Overall, I have been pretty happy with the service and quality of merchandise here. I wanted some new lamps after moving and after searching their website, I found what I wanted. I went into the store in Pasadena and after checking out the floor model, decided to buy. They had to bring them in from the warehouse but I got them the following week. They look great and work as advertised. The next time I came in was to have them look at a lamp I bought from the website. It was working erratically and was past the 60 day return period (though still under warranty). When I called back, they told me the problem was that I had put the wrong wattage halogen in. They put the correct one in and didn't charge me. I was pretty surprised at that since the bulbs aren't cheap. The selection is great and the prices are reasonable. If I had any quibbles, it would be to agree with some of the other posters that it can be difficult getting help from one of the associates. Also, don't expect calls when merchandise is ready for pickup. These are pretty minor and my experience overall was a good one read more

The fan was still not functioning normal, so Mo gave me a new ceiling fan! That is the best customer service I have ever had at a retail store. Joseph George is wonderful (Assistant Manager). I had bought a outdoor fixture about a yr. ago at Lamps Plus. When we had the heavy rains apparently something got wet. Tried to see if it was still available BUT it had been discontinued, so after their repair man said that he couldn't repair the fixture Joseph took matters into his own hands & replaced both of the sockets & it now works beautifully. Honestly, I very seldom write reviews. But I am compelled to write one this time and thank Mr. Elie Boutros for the wonderful experience my wife and I had at the Pasadena store. As soon as we walked into the store we were greeted by Mr. Boutors as he immediately offered his assistance. My wife and I weren't sure exactly what we wanted so he took is time and assisted us and answered all our questions. Not only until we were about to leave the store that he offered us his business card and turned out to be the store manager. I commend Lamps Plus for hiring an experience store manager like Mr. Boutors. He definitely made our first purchase from Lamps Plus a very pleasurable one. I'd give it three stars, only for the awesome inventory and displays. However I don't think they are A-OK. I always dread shopping here, and it's because each time I visit (which has only been about a 1/2 dozen times) the customer service SUCKS. I went in here looking for red lamp shades, and the few red ones in stock did not fit my decor. A lady walked up to ask me if I needed assistance, as soon as she figured out they didn't have what I wanted in stock she lost interest, and I even commented, "I guess I'm on my own." Which meant nothing to her, she continued to walk away. I did express interest in a red lamp shade on a display lamp, but she coldly said that it's not available or something to that effect. It's always a bizarre shopping experience here, and too often I leave with nothing because I got NO help. Nothing warm and fuzzy here, except for the warmth of all the lights and lamps. Next stop Target, Lowe's or Bed Bath and Beyond. read more
