DO NOT GO HERE TO WASH YOUR CLOTHES! Crooked establishment with run down machines that break frequently. The dryers are rigged so that they take forever to dry your clothes. The owners are sneaky. While vacationing in London we went here to do laundry. Two of the washing machines I was using broke mid-cycle. The owners laughed and told me to move the clothes into another machine (after waiting 18 mins and over 7 euros later). I told him to give me money to which he only provided 5 euros. He asked me to put the rest of the money into the machine. While I was there I saw two other machines break mid cycle. The laundromat is also filthy and the neighborhood is slightly creepy. read more

On a two week trip to Europe my wife and I needed a place to do a load of laundry. Found this place near our hotel, and even though many of the reviews were not great, I thought I'd give it a try. First, I almost couldn't find it! The address said 141 Lambeth Walk but it's actually a bit farther down. It's in between the Fish and Chips place and the small convenience store. Keep that in mind if you're headed there. The owner was very helpful and cheery. He directed us towards the proper sized machine and told us to get change from the store next door. Many of the reviews said he wouldn't give you change unless you bought something. I wanted an energy drink anyway so I just purchased that and got change. He clearly runs both the laundromat and the convenience store. He asked if we needed to purchase soap, but we had brought our own. There are 6 dryers and 1 extra large dryer. As the previous reviews stated, several were out of order. 3 of the 6 did not work. However, the place wasn't crowded so I didn't have to wait for one of the working dryers. I could see how a person might get frustrated during peak laundry time though (whenever that might be). All in all, I had a good experience here for what I was looking for. An average launderette. They have several washers of various sizes, ranging from 4 pounds to 6 pounds per wash. (One of the two large machines takes only the old coins.) Soap machine out of order, you need to go next door. No change machine, you need to go next door. No Wifi, of course. Out of 7 dryers, 3 were out of order. The others were all in use when we arrived. (There is a drop-off service, and the lady who was doing that was using the dryers for her large loads of sheets.) We really needed two dryers - got one when we needed it, had to wait a while for the second one. Luckily the dryers worked pretty well, so we didn't have to spend too much time waiting for things to get dry. read more

We stayed in the South Bank area of London for a week and found many nice surprises. Here's one, When you walk in to this launderette, it seems like it's just self-service. Go next door to the grocery and ask the clerk if they have time to do your laundry. They'll say, "Of course." It'll be done and folded when you need it, very clean-smelling indeed. They are scrupulously honest and very inexpensive. When we picked up our laundry, the clerk said he found a 10-pound note in the clothes! Honesty personified. We highly recommend their beautiful launderette while you're in this part of London. read more

Yesterday afternoon my husband and I walked to this laundromat to wash a small load of clothes. The washers worked just fine but there was 1 main dryer working and the other two that did work stopped working in the middle of the drying a load of clothes, the ladies had to open the doors and slam them shut to try to make them work. There are several dryers that are out of order. Most of the customers left with wet clothes and bedding. By the time our wash was done, we were not able to dry our clothes. We ended up walking back to our hotel with wet clothes to hang dry in our room. I feel horrible for the family's that have to come here to wash their clothes to pretty much spending their whole day to complete a few loads and wait their turn because most of the dryers don't work. One lady had 2 baskets, 3 bags in a stroller and several washers full of laundry. There was still 4 others that would be waiting to use the dryers once theirs clothes were done washing. This is the only laundromat for miles. If I was the owner, I would make sure that my machines worked to make this smoothly as possible for the family's that live in the community and spend money there. I do hope that he steps up and does the right thing for those family's and fixes the machines. If you are staying at a hotel in the area, I would recommend either using the hotel's services or find a dry cleaner near by. read more

My brother and I were in town for a few days (midway through a 2 week trip), and we needed clean clothes desperately. Our hotel laundry prices were exorbitant, and this laundrette was only a 5 minute walk from us, so we tried it out. The woman working there (I believe she was the owner) was super friendly and helpful, the machines that were working worked great (several of the washers and dryers were out of order, but there were enough), and the neighborhood was quiet and charming. It was £4 for a wash cycle and £1 for every 20 minutes of a dry cycle. Their hours are 7am-8pm everyday of the week. The place seemed a little worn/run-down, but was clean and everyone we ran into was very friendly. Highly recommended! read more

Just returned from this launderette. Chose to do own laundry, rather than pay hotel £3.75 to launder a T-shirt, and so happy to have found this spot. Marion was extremely helpful, getting a £20 note changed for me, providing clear instructions on the machines and tips on usage, and providing delightful conversation during the wait. read more

Conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood. Found thru Yelp. The day I went, half the dryers and couple washers and detergent purchasing machine were broken. But the ones that worked, did fine. Dryers will need many coins before clothing is fully dry so take lots of change. Busy place. Needed one load done so in a pinch this place was perfect. read more
