It's STILL an absolutely amazing yarn/crochet haven! Been coming here for 20 years. It's not just a store that sells yarn. It's a store with a terrific selection of yarns at all different price points, it's a haven for knitters/crocheters of all skills. No matter what I'm working on, I can find help with a quick question from staff that are knowledgable AND friendly. If it's more involved, I can schedule a private tutorial. Or, they have fun classes as well. I've lost track of how many classes I've taken here -- all of them have stretched my knitting capabilities. On top of that, it's a beautifully laid-out store that sparks creativity. Yes, I might find some of the yarns for a couple dollars less online, but to see and hold those yarns and to sit at one of the tables to be in community with other knitters/crocheters and see what others are knitting cannot be replicated online. And... if you just want some great choices of yarn, you don't need help, or classes or want to knit in community -- you got that too! read more

I went to this yarn store with high hopes... and they delivered! They had an awesome selection of yarn, every weight, every material every color. There was something there for everyone. The people working the shop was wonderful and helped me find some excellent summer yarns in the weight I was looking for. Wow. A friend gave me a skein of yarn and a pattern because she wanted me to start knitting. I knew two stitches (knit and perl) but didn't know how to read the pattern she included. So I stopped by Lamb Shoppe today to see if they could get me started on this project. A wonderful woman, (Tina) sat down and helped me and now, I have the confidence to start making this shawl. This is an interesting yarn shop. I was there on a Saturday morning; there were 2 tables filled with women knitting and chatting. Looked both inviting and a bit intimidating. They seemed to have an OK selection of yarn - I went there because I'm planning to take a class and one of the class rules is that you have to buy your yarn from them. The sales clerk was only partly helpful steering me to the right yarn. Since the teacher isn't one of their employees, the clerk wasn't sure what yarn was called for nor how I should get the pattern. Another clerk was busy winding a ball of yarn - that seemed to be of more interest to her than helping me pay for my yarn. The clerks weren't unfriendly, just not very welcoming and helpful to a newbie who hadn't been to their store before.....Maybe I'll have a different opinion after I take the class. read more

Oh my goodness, such a cozy and beautiful yarn and MORE shop! It was my first time shopping at Lamb Shoppe this weekend, and I wanted to purchase everything there... even if I had it already, because I had that much fun! The staff is so warm and welcoming, and when I let them know it was my first time shopping there, they showed me around and helped me with all my questions. I was able to find the rarest items, and purchased beautiful accessories and a LYKKE crochet hook set! Even my toddler told me she needed yarn for her stuffed kitten! Prices wise, I found that they are not as bad as other shops around, and some items is less than others as well. Especially their needles and hooks... the selection and variety is amazing. I would be surprised if you couldn't find what you were looking for! If I had to find one thing wrong, it is just their parking... I wish they had a parking lot. I've been thinking about this for a few days and decided I did want to write a review. I was very excited to pop into this shop because there are none in my area. I have also had incredible experiences in my previous town with their yarn shop. I was really disappointed in how bristly and rude the staff was when I arrived. I popped in at 5:40 pm, 20 minutes before closing. This is not exactly a huge place, so I didn't think this was unreasonable. Instantly when I arrived I was greeted with a disinterested "hello" and asked if I needed any help. I explained I was just browsing and then was snapped on and told "WELL WE CLOSE AT 6". I informed her that I was aware of their hours. I began walking around and checking out the collections. Had another weird and awkward interaction with the woman working while she was explaining the different "kits" they had. I entered with every intention of purchasing a pattern book and enrolling in a class. However the staff member seemed so annoyed by my presence and anything I had to ask her that I didn't bother and left. I will not be back. read more

I have been a loyal Lamb Shoppe customer for years. The shop is like Disneyland to me. I went in today to get some supplies. As I was browsing the purple yarn an employee commented that "you must love purple because all your tattoos are purple, and boy do you have a lot of them!" As I was waiting for some yarn to be wound, the other employee stated: " I can tell what your favorite color of. It's all over your body and you're wearing purple too. I wish I could have taken photos of their expressions while they were talking to me. Very condeThe comments made me feel very small almost to the point of tears. I was so upset that I almost asked for my money back. I will be looking for a new yarn store next time I need something. I don't need the judgement or negativity. I took my first lesson in 2019 at the Lamb Shoppe and have not stopped going since. I have found the staff to be exceptionally knowledgeable not only in the classes they teach, but in helping everyone out who somehow (!!) makes a mistake. Patience doesn't even begin! And they have always been very, very helpful in my choices of projects and yarns. The doors are always open for people to come in, sit down and knit or crochet in a very friendly environment. I do love this shoppe and the selection of v yarn they have. I've taken crochet classes here and Amanda is amazing at teaching and really knowing her stuff. But my main thing is that when it's busy it feels very crammed and I admit I don't like being stores or places when it's busy. But it's great that they are getting business.. at times I do wish the shop was bigger because of how busy it gets and all the classes they have going on. I do wish they had more crochet classes and wish the store was bigger. I also admit that I wish they had crochet or knit help nights or even more open project nights. I also admit that like others have mentioned that the costumer service here could improve. There are some ladies here that area great but mostly I haven't been impressed with the staff. read more

I have wanted to visit this shop for a few years.... except it was always closed when we got ice cream next door. (I live out of town). Finally, today I was in the neighborhood when the shop was open! On the front door was a sign requiring masks to be worn in the shop, and requesting customers to use hand sanitizer when entering. No problem, as the governor has mandated masks be worn indoors. However, the two women (owners?) working at The Lamb Shoppe were not wearing masks themselves. This is so hypocritical to require customers to wear masks whilst the employees show disregard for their customers' health as well as ignoring the state mask mandate. I saw many yarns I would love to work with but I will NEVER purchase a thing from this store!! read more

On a whim, while we were heading this direction, we popped in here. It was so exquisite and organized. A group of knitters chatting away around the table while they worked diligently on their projects. Lots of books to browse through organized by topic. I didn't find the one I was looking for, but then again. I didn't expect to. A scarf on a mannequin in seaweed green and another in the same ribbed pattern, but longer in rustic red caught our eyes. Before I knew it, we were looking tbrough the different bins for skeins of the rustic red and also the natural gray colors. The woman working was so nice and helpful. She showed us the scarf kit for it but it had earthy brown yarn which was too bad since the bag and collection of yarn with the pattern was so darn cute! The store layout was organized and the vibe was really great. Other customers were also friendly and welcoming. Common to many knitters, I unexpectedly.came home with yarn and a new project and was soooo glad that I did. I look forward to going back, but hopefully after I finish the scarves! I am only ~4 inches into the first scarf so I better pick up the pace so I can go back there soon. Oh but I almost forgot...Every 2 Fridays they have "Fiber Friday" I think from 6-10. They just met this past Friday so perhaps I will head back there next week Friday! I am getting excited just thinking about the possibility... read more

Sometimes, it feels like a trip to LambShoppe is all that keeps me from completely losing it. See, I'm originally from Colorado. And I love my family. They are great. Especially my sister, who is probably reading this right now and going "OH NOES SHE DOES NOT LOVE US WE HATE HER NOW TOOOO". Anyways, visiting the family can be stressful. Especially if you are bringing along an SO. A surly, now ex-SO, by the way. Let that be a warning - no surlyness allowed! Okay, let's try this again. So, I love yarn. Yarn makes me happy. I hear about this fabulous new yarn shop, and the web site is gorgeous. So, I take the rental car, and on the way from the airport, stop in. I LOVE this yarn shop. If I didn't live in Naperville, this shop would be my local shop. The shelves are gorgeous arranged. They've put suitable patterns next to the yarn used to make them. They have sock yarn and lace yarn and felting yarn and ALPACA. I do love the alpaca. They've put the novelty yarn off in one area so I can pretend like it isn't there. I do not like the novelty yarn. However, the alpaca, it is awesome and I love it. This shop was the first time I saw the Alpaca with a Twist yarn line. That's probably why I keep thinking how great alpaca is and how I love this yarn. The staff is helpful, and the owner was very very sweet - I have a knitting blog, and I was comfortable enough to ask if I could take pictures. I NEVER take pictures of yarn shops - I'm always too shy. They also have coffee and snacks and places to sit and hang out. It's really very lovely. read more

Now, I can't say that I would be highly turned on if my boyfriend stayed home on a Friday night to knit me an oven mitt, but I would think it was cool if he made me a pair of sexy undies! Anyway, this shop is first class... The shelving itself is the expensive kind... With ladders and beautiful soft wood. I touched a soft ball of yarn and it swept trough my fingers like a new piece of satin... Ok, it wasn't that exotic, but it felt nice for being wool. The shop had colors galore, and two tables to work at or take classes at. * Star one is for being different... Everyone knew that Emily Rose was quiet, but they all should have guessed that she would open up a yarn shop! (I made that up, but it made sense at the time) ** Little girl star two is for lots of pretty colors to pick from *** Teach me how to do it now star three is for offering classes on how to make a variety of things such as tank tops, hats, and shawls **** What is this star four is for being located across the street from a liquor store... What trip to the Mile High City wouldn't be complete without a visit to a yarn shop? Yes, I'm a fiber addict. I dragged my best friend here after we got hot dogs & beer nearby. The shop is very cute, full of finished projects, and fairly well organized. Prices were reasonable for a yarn shop. They had a few baskets of discounted yarn, which me and my friend dug through enthusiastically. Very enthusiastically. I'm glad the employees didn't say anything, as we looked pretty silly doing that. I settled on only two skeins of discounted yarn for a scarf. I asked an employee about a fascinating scarf sample, and she promptly retrieved the book with its pattern. She asked, kindly, about my knitting skill level, as the pattern was not conventional. And I look way too young to be interested in this craft. This was thoughtful, since knitting is supposed to be relaxing, not a struggle. I could imagine a knitting newbie fighting with this design. Ahhhhh...if she only knew the amount of yarn I hoarded back in California. ;) This shop also has a coffee machine, so you can enjoy a beverage while working on your projects. Great selection of yarn and supplies, but the grumpy staff ruins the experience. I came in when the store was nearly empty asking for some yarn advice, and the woman spent the minimal possible time with me and made zero attempts to engage, help or upsell. I witnessed her being rude to another (very pleasant) customer right in front of me (even muttering audibly about the person while they were still in earshot). I first came to this store during my first visit to Denver in 2009 and really wanted to come back. Good selection of yarn, including some interesting locally hand dyed. Plenty of kits, samples and lots of places to sit and knit. Wide price range for the yarn so there's something for everyone There's also a great little coffee bar right in the shop, which encourages lingering. Very helpful and kind staff, ready to offer suggestions if you want them but willing to give you time and distance to choose what you want. read more

This was my first visit. And my last. My fiance and I visited Lamb Shoppe this afternoon, soon after they opened. We were looking for yarn to make a beanie for my sister in law, who is losing her hair with treatment for a rare form of cancer. I found one skein that I thought was suitable and asked the woman at the (empty) counter if they had another of the same color and dye lot around somewhere. She scanned it, and said that there were a total of 5 in the store. At this time she halfheartedly looked into a few drawers when the phone rang. The woman helping us appeared very flustered and kept loudly saying, "the floodgates open at noon!" At this time there was only myself, my fiance, and one other woman in the store. After she finished her phone conversation, she made another remark about how inconvenient the customers in the store were for her, and never made another attempt to help us find the rather pricey yarn in an appropriate color. In fact, there was no attempt to ever speak to us again. I put back the yarn and walked out. I find it ironic that we drove a considerable distance from our home in Arvada....due to multiple, and much more convenient, "out of business," local yarn shops from our home, only to be treated like our presence, and our business, were a huge inconvenience. In a near empty store. In a niche industry, with multiple closing shops around town, you would think that business and paying customers would be appreciated. We have several projects going at this time, and none of them will be fashioned with yarn purchased at this shop. I sincerely hope, "the floodgates," do not continue opening for this business. Mixed feelings about this place. I'm a beginning knitter and went to there to buy needles to support a local business. Was encouraged to get circular needles. When I went to pay I learned they cost $24 (the prices aren't marked), a bit much considering I'm taking up knitting to help me through a period of unemployment. I bought them, not knowing at the time that you can get circulars for $10-12 online or at the larger craft stores and regular needles for $2.75 at Walmart. Tried the circulars and didn't like them so I went to return them. But the shop has a policy that you can't return needles or patterns. "All yarn shops have this policy," said the gal at the counter. "Otherwise you could finish your project and return the needles." Seriously? Is she accusing me of that? Or is she just completely lacking in customer service skills? I love that you can drop in any day and sit down, have some tea, and work on your project with other knitters. But I probably won't. Lambshop -- especially since your merchandise is so expensive, please train your sales people so that this is a store where people feel comfortable. read more

Found myself with the wrong size needles while traveling in Denver, so popped in to see if they had needles compatible to my set that I could use my own cord. They were very helpful, double checked that their brand would work on my cord and even offered me a discount on yarn since it was my birthday month. Very friendly and I walked out with the needles I needed, some sale yarn for my stash, and project yarn with my birthday discount.. read more
