There are cards for many occasions, raku tokens, Christmas ornaments and glassware. Painted cups, knitted colorado teddy bears, coasters made from cowhide and keychains. There are beautiful photos taken by a local photographer and other treasures jammed into every corner. He was waiting on me so I sped through the store checking everything out and picked up some items for gifts. A handmade Broncos angel ornament for a coworker leaving for another position, a raku tree of life token for myself, a birthday card for my dad crafted by a local woman. The man behind the counter was friendly and he knew how much things were when I asked. There was an adorable Pup in the store who sniffed my hand. I think I'll have to go back when I have more money for the knitted colorado bear. He was so soft and cuddly.

I took a class fromPatty and we were chatting about quilt customers. The conversation went along as I stated that in my years of operating a quilt store in Arizona that I only had one check bounce. That customer was is in my store with cash in her hand before I was even aware that her check had bounced. I also stated that quilters are a honest group of women. Patty stated that she had one check bounce. She also stated the ladies Name. That is so unprofessional. I took two Christmas quilts in before I left for a family reunion. I went over the details with Trish. It was a good four weeks when Trish called me to let me know that one of the quilts was completed and ready to pick up. Both quilts were identical, I thought that having the computer set up for one that the second one would be put on the machine next. When I picked up the first quilt I paid for both quilts. I was thinking that the second one would be next. I was so wrong. Trish had stated that she was going to have a procedure on for her knee and would be out for a few days. A few days turned into a week. My associate called me excited because her quilt was completed. Her quilt was taken in after I had taken my two quilts in. I called the shop and spoke to Trish who let me know that my second quilt would be going on next. Should be ready soon, after all she needed two full days to quilt my quilt. I called the shop again and was put off again. I had already paid in full to have the quilting done. I called and Patty answered in her sweet manner. I told her I was coming in and picking up my quilt. That I wanted a refund on top of it. I told her I would not say a word in the store. Which I did not open my mouth. I will not do anymore business with Fabric Play.

I brought the 4 seasons of the In The Rockies kits for $32 each. Not included were the backing fabric, batting, and binding. I got home and when reading the directions, I got confused since I never dealt with Quiltsmart Grid fusible. I called the shop to ask for a private lesson scheduled for the next day. When I went in, I felt that I was bothering them even though there was no customers. The woman who offered to help me only gave me 5-10 minutes of her time at no charge and acted like I should know how to use the grid. (The grid was a game changer and so easy to use). I was annoyed that I had driven all the way there only for her to advise me to go to the Quiltsmart website to get directions; which I did and it was very helpful. I will definitely go back because there aren't that many quilt shops in my area but I've learned to just figure directions on my own (I'm self taught).
