I really loved this little shop. It reminded me of a mini version of the Barn (in Castle Rock) especially with its wonderful outdoor section with tons of metal art and outdoor pieces. Inside you can wander though a selection of some antiques, but many more seasonal pieces and cute unique items that have a more handmade feel. Great antique place! I love all the knic knacs and what knots. A fun place outside with all sorts of items for the garden for vines to grow up and garden ornaments. Even older road signs and funky animal decorations for your home. The woman in the store was very nice and conversational telling me about the area and all that the store has to offer. I really loved looking around and once I buy a house out here I can see myself back here looking for fun and unique items. read more

As others have posted on their reviews "not much in the Antiques Dept." To add onto that, I was sold a Lamp the Owner stated was an "Antique from an Estate," and when I brought it Home for closer viewing, it was not. The worst part was me returning and asking for a Credit from an old Layaway I had not been able to pick up previously. I asked the Owner if I could still utilize the Credit and she flat out REFUSED, stating the cost and time incurred and then led into personal commentary amongst other subjects NOT pertaining to the specific...I was "in shock," to hear her rant and quite frankly completely appalled by her lack of Professional Busy Savvy. Very disappointed to know that a Business OWNER would treat a repeat Customer in such a manner, when she could have very graciously accepted my $95.00 Credit toward another purchase in the hopes of keeping and maintaining a repeat customer which I had been. For an antique store this place didn't seem to have very many 'antique' items. There was quite a selection of metal art in the courtyard area. I don't know if this building and the store next to it are owned by the same person, but I don't think they are. This shop has stuff that is more 'old looking' then actual vintage. The clerk didn't welcome me when I walked in, and when she finally decided to talk to me I was on the phone. At least, I think she was talking to me... or she was talking to herself... I was the only person in the store. I don't think it's a place I'd be back unless I wanted some interesting garden decor. read more

Beware of The Little Black Chair located within this antique store. I purchased 2 cans of Annie Sloan chalk paint. Not cheap. And because I didn't know how much I needed to cover my fireplace I was told I could return a can if it was unopened. I went to return 1 unused, unopened can & was treated like I had imagined that she specifically told me I could return it. It makes me so mad because this is what is killing small businesses. I will never shop there or at Vandel's antiques again & will tell everyone about my horrible experience here. Buy your paint from Home Depot or Lowes. I wish I had. I'd be $38.50 richer. read more

I love Vamdel Antiques! The owners are wonderful and very helpful. I try to stop in as often as possible...prices on metal art work are very reasonable...they have a fantastic selection of metal garden art work and urns, gates etc.... I have bought some very 'reasonably' priced pieces of furniture from Sandy, as well as quilts. Having read some of the previous reviews, you need to be an educated consumer. Sandy has some lovely true antiques in her shop that are priced accordingly. There are other pieces that look 'aged' but aren't true antiques. They too, are priced reasonably. I have received numerous compliments about everything that I've bought from her. She has always been accommodating about delivery. read more

I haven't been in here in awhile, but from what I know about the owner, I don't plan on going in anytime soon. The last time I was in there, the antique stuff was nice, but considerably overpriced. There is a lot of reproduction stuff that she doesn't appear to try to distinguish from true vintage. Being a loyal customer doesn't pay here, it just increases the prices she charges - I had a friend that was looking for a particular item, someone who had spent a lot of money in the shop before. The owner said she had the item and then charged her at least $100 more than it should have been priced because she knew my friend really wanted it. My friend also spent nearly $300 in there another day and the clerk that wrote up the sale apparently had messed up her math and undercharged my friend $11 on the bill. The owner actually pursued my friend a few days later and asked her to come in and pay her the $11!! Needless to say, my friend has not been back. Considering this treatment, I don't shop there either. There are some other great shops in the area, like the Pink Attic Cat, which are better places to shop. Nicer owner and better prices. read more

Okay, actually NO stars here, in more ways than one. This store is an adventure that is not nearly as fun as it, at first, looks. Every other antique/gift business in downtown Littleton, even within walking distance, offers better prices and actual, sincere greetings from much nicer employees than Vandel. Also, this store is very dirty, and alot of the merchadise is also, especially in the front. It's difficult to not knock stuff over in this store; it's up to the ceiling in old dishes! The exterior looks like a junkyard. Browse all you want, but shop elsewhere first (don't forget Hobby Lobby--the owner CLEARLY hasn't); you will spend way too much at Vandel. Really!-the same merchandise other shops offer, in the immediate area, is marked much more reasonably than at Vandel. The person who appears to be the shop owner is very rude, but I knew this before I ventured in. I'd been told by friends that some people who have been around this owner have witnessed her just explode on people. That's retail suicide when you look at the prices! Again, if you go to this store, bring your attitude and keep your money in your wallet! read more
