It's rare to find a business these days with a massive selection of the brands and models that are available. It's rare to find a business these days where the salespeople are available, friendly, and knowledgeable. Surprise! Rocky Mountain Sewing offers all of these perks. My friend needed a sewing machine. She had only used mechanical systems in the past and, although an experienced seamstress, was unfamiliar with recent changes in technology and the latest computerized products. We had the great pleasure of being greeted by Miles when we walked into this amazing store. We explained our requirements and he immediately understood what was needed and began to show us appropriate options from Pfaff, Husqvarna, and Bernina. Miles was able to explain without hesitation the fine details of all of the products we considered and could helpfully relate many issues to his own sewing experience. We quickly narrowed things down to a computerized Husqvarna model, available at a very reasonable price. Who knew that Husqvarna dated back to 1689 and went from producing muskets to sewing machines in 1872. I always thought of them as a power equipment manufacturer, but that's a separate company these days. This is a huge store. The selection of brands and models to choose from is awesome. There's a good selection of threads and accessories plus some fabrics. There's even a vacuum section. Miles guided us seamlessly and was a great help. We would have been lost without his expertise. We had a great visit with no pressure. Miles wrote up a quote for the systems and accessories of interest. My friend thought it over and purchased the Husqvarna the next day.

I got the maintenance plan and I'm so glad I did, I needed the motherboard replaced ($500+) and they did it no problem! Lots of fabric, even garment fabric! Notions, thread, anything you need. If they dont have it, they'll order it for you! I've signed up for some classes that they have, I'm super excited for that. Definitely a favorite in the area

I first started shopping here around 2010, then stepped away from knitting for quite a few years before recently returning. What stood out immediately was how welcoming the environment still felt. Being warmly welcomed back after such a long break genuinely meant something. Over the years, I have consistently noticed how knowledgeable and helpful the staff is. They are willing to answer questions, help troubleshoot patterns or projects, recommend yarn substitutions, and guide people toward classes or tools that fit their skill level. I have also witnessed many moments where customers came in trying to rescue a knitting "disaster," and the owner, staff, and even fellow customers jumped in to help. There is a real sense of community here that feels increasingly rare. The shop itself is comfortable and inviting, with a strong selection of yarns, books, tools, and classes ranging from beginner to advanced. It feels like a place designed not just to sell products, but to support people who enjoy fiber arts. The location is another plus. Street parking is usually manageable, there are coffee shops and restaurants nearby around 12th and Madison, and it is right along the RTD #10 bus route. Whether someone knits, crochets, needlepoints, or is completely new to fiber arts, The Lamb Shoppe seems to make a sincere effort to make everyone feel welcome.

It's a store with a terrific selection of yarns at all different price points, it's a haven for knitters/crocheters of all skills. No matter what I'm working on, I can find help with a quick question from staff that are knowledgable AND friendly. If it's more involved, I can schedule a private tutorial. Or, they have fun classes as well. I've lost track of how many classes I've taken here -- all of them have stretched my knitting capabilities. On top of that, it's a beautifully laid-out store that sparks creativity. Yes, I might find some of the yarns for a couple dollars less online, but to see and hold those yarns and to sit at one of the tables to be in community with other knitters/crocheters and see what others are knitting cannot be replicated online. And... if you just want some great choices of yarn, you don't need help, or classes or want to knit in community -- you got that too!
