The almond chicken was flavorless, the lo mein noodles tasted like uncooked dough with rubbery chicken and the sesame chicken was closer to a sweet and sour flavor. We also got the egg foo young that had 0 flavor as well and that came with the same gravy sauce as the almond chicken which was kind of like a flavorless cream of chicken. read more

I remember many years ago, this family had a restaurant in Oxford; Golden Dragon. I use to go when visiting friends in that area. Some of my favorite Chinese food in the state of Michigan. I heard they re opened a new restaurant under a new name. So when I traveled home I made a point to drive that way to get some of the locals best. Located in this big plaza while heading north it was tough to see signage. But GPS led me so fortunately I knew where to look. Plenty of parking outside so no issue in the lot. Few people waiting for carry out, was greeted with a warm welcome when entering. They were busy so I let em know I was in no rush. Menus so big and I was by myself so i ordered more than I needed but I wanted to try more than one thing. It's a bad habit but I do it often. A favorite of mine not found where I live now in Florida; is the Almond Boneless Chicken dish. I ordered that combo style which came with fried rice and egg roll. Crab Ragoon, pot stickers & golden bricks for dessert. Plenty if room to dine in if you have the time, I went carry out and rushed back home which was a 30min drive. The food still held well, and the chicken was still crispy. 100% would have been even better there but I didn't have the time. Both apps were held well and tasted great. The pot stickers sauce was spicy which was perfect. As always the Lam family was working and saw both husband & wife working together and serving plenty of patrons. Always good to see them healthy and working hard. Next time in Michigan will stop by again. Great food, family owned awesome hospitality. read more

My new favorite carryout Chinese food! My personal favorites are: egg rolls, crab rangoons, Mongolian beef, general tso chicken, stir fried udon with shrimp and their golden bricks (dessert). Everything is made from scratch (including their plum sauce!!!) and super fresh ingredients. You don't feel sleepy or weighed down after you're done eating here and I love that! The egg rolls are so flavorful and packed with veggies and the stir fried udon was plentiful. Both had delicious flavors and perfect textures to satisfy anyone. If I had to recommend anything it would be those for sure! I'm so glad they offer delivery through different companies, especially since they're so close to the hospital I work at. It is mostly a carryout joint with a couple tables inside if you wish to dine in. Be mindful when ordering with spice here- food can get SUPER SPICY quick! read more

Honestly, for Chinese takeout it doesn't really get much better! You can tell that this place is run by a family that cares about the quality of the food. Most Chinese places try to go for cheap and fast food but forget about the quality. Somehow this place has managed to keep the speed quick and the price low while still pumping out very delicious, well made Chinese food. I loved their Chinese donut desert and the almond chicken wasn't too breaded or fried. I took one of my carry out boxes over to my friends house by accident... Lam Taste has the highest prices I have ever seen at a Chinese carryout restaurant. They have large portions, but not the best tasting food around. The chicken fried rice ($14) was one of the better in the area. The almond boneless chicken ($17) was pretty good. The gravy color was a little more yellow than I'm used to but the flavor was there. I'm a little shy around Chinese restaurants because of past experiences, but Lam Taste was a pleasant surprise in terms of quality. I had a second round recently to confirm. So far so good. The first visit I went for a spring roll (yum), hot and sour soup (needs more wood ear mushrooms and a little work), shrimp fried rice (nice shrimp), and Mongolian Beef (I detect a hint of Five Spice Powder). They've got their velveting technique down pat, so the meat was tender. Each dish had a clean finish, meaning no unpleasant lingering aftertaste. That's one major thing I like about this place. The second visit was to give the soup another go, try Garlic Shrimp (which I liked better than the Mongolian Beef), and Beef Udon (not listed online, but on their board). I'm feeling 3.33 stars on the noodles. But again, everything had that clean taste. All dishes were medium spicy and spice lovers may find these dishes a touch on the mild side, but I'm sure it varies based on a number of factors. It was just right for me. I find myself wishing they had Hunan Beef just so I could try their version. The fun part at the end of each meal was reading their sassy fortune cookies. I'm 2 for 2 on them. read more

We just moved to the area and tried about 5 places before finding and falling in love with Lam Taste! My husband always gets the almond boneless chicken, their gravy for it is so delicious! I've tried a few things, but am now hooked on the sechuan chicken (I like mine extra spicy)--the flavor is amazing and the veggies are fresh. Their wonton soup is THE BEST! OMG!!! I absolutely love food especially when it tastes amazing. This place is a total GEM. We ate on Christmas Day. Most places are closed. I loved the Chicken and Rice soup is was so delicious. ordered late night from doordash. I was super happy to see a Chinese option open so late. I ordered the broccoli chicken that was $16.99 and a small wonton soup that was $5.99. The portion size was pretty big. My wonton soup was good different then most , it had a good amount of veggies in it , defiantly worth the price. The broccoli chicken however came with plain white rice and nothing more. On the menu you it simply says broccoli chicken so you can only assume you will get what most Chinese reasturants give and that is fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken wasn't bad however it wasn't real good either. The sauce was like water and the broccoli was hardly cooked. Had the broccoli been cooked more it could have really helped since they have such a nice portion. after a few bites I tossed it. I may give this place a second chance due to there being some great positives however I'll keep in mind the white rice situation and ask for fried. read more

My husband and I were so excited to find Lam Taste when it opened a few months ago! We've ordered twice, and loved it both times! The Singapore Chicken is awesome -light curry flavor. My husband had the General Tso's chicken and we both declared it the best we'd ever had -lightly crunchy and not too spicy. We've also tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken, good but standard. The Almond Chicken doesn't boast any bold flavors but was a delicious cut of chicken. The egg rolls are good, and the fried rice is basic but goes well with the entrees. We've done carry out both times, as it doesn't seem like there is space to dine in (only 2 tables?) The attached pictures are of the almond chicken and General Tso's, but only half the amount in each container because we couldn't wait to dig in! I needed some cooked Chinese rice for a recipe I was making so I ordered a quart plus a pint of white rice in 2 egg rolls. That may meet have to pay almost $12 his dollars. When I realized that was ridiculous I said fine just give me a quart of of rice and the egg rolls. They said fine I waited an appropriate amount of time for both items but when it came back it was just a pint of rice . I realized that and said I ordered the court and not the pint and you said fine. They argue with me and tried to make me Is pay extra for the court of rice.. I said no way and when they did give me my rice they threw it at me.. The phone was ringing but she couldn't take time for the customer that was in front of her that she had already made a mistake in. I had read reviews about Lam Taste being really good Chinese food. However, in the past, we have always had a craving for Chinese food on Mondays, when they are closed. Today, we were finally able to order food from there, and I am really disappointed. We ordered hot & sour soup and Gai Kow. Both had no flavor. The hot & sour soup was completely missing the sour flavor. Furthermore, the Gai Kow was basically just cooked chicken with vegetables. I'm like bold and robust flavors. This dish had none of that. Maybe it's my fault for branching out and trying a new dish. Definitely bummed that I wasted $15+ on tasteless food. Not sure I want to risk wasting more money by ordering a more common dish from here. read more

This is not your 3 Michelin star restaurant fancy decor, but: 1) the food is GREAT, made to order and tasted very fresh ( we had Singapore noodles, Gral Tso's tofu, fried rice and spring rolls), and everything was tasty, with the right amount of heat, not overly heavy and greasy like you can find in other Chinese places. And the portions were very generous. 2) the service was extremely nice and attentive (the chef even came to offer us a little dessert, some kind of donuts with a sweet condensed milk sauce, a very nice touch). A really nice alternative in the area, I am not always a big Chinese food person, but I will choose this place any day compared to our weekly Thai food.
