We liked this bakery. We went in to get one pastry to share and ended up with a small box. My favorite was that napeloni and I also liked the rollet.

    * Short and sweet * This little bakery tucked away on a side street in North Vancouver makes for a perfect milestone review (#900). They have a beautiful selection of both Persian and European sweets, as well as a selection of dried fruits and nuts. Apparently they also make wedding cakes. I got a small treasure box (http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/bkmlD8TOtFtQCII82hLVWw?select=oaj7txABt-gI3D42A-NrKg) with a variety of unnamed Persian sweets. While they were all somewhat similar they each had a slightly distinct taste. Some had strong hints of coconut, while others had distinct rosewater flavour, some honey in another, and there was a pleasant pistachio overtone in most. I really enjoyed them! Photos: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/bkmlD8TOtFtQCII82hLVWw?select=XERWXPeOPNvZuBx3dNwuZA and http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/bkmlD8TOtFtQCII82hLVWw?select=sk8OB1pkLI_AGrt-V4KXeg The woman behind the counter was also extremely friendly and really made me feel welcome - as if I was visiting someone's home (who is an excellent baker!). They have a few tables to sit and enjoy your sweets as well, but my visit was short and sweet!

    Yummy!

If you're meandering down Lonsdale with a little sweet tooth, mosy on down to 15th & Lonsdale to Laleh for a huge selection of mini baked goods. Each piece is about 35 cents! Catering to little Persia, the lady baker doesn't speak English, just Farsi. I asked for recommendations as nothing was labeled and she was confused. So I handed her $4 and said, "fill the little bag with anything!" She gave me 12-15 treats and I was on my way. The photo I labeled "Yummy" was my fav from my goodie bag :)

    incredible!!!

The quality of sweets was meh maybe because they were not fresh and the tea was brewed long time back.

Awful service I don't like. Although the Snapple drink they sold in the cooler was delightful

Everything in the case looked delectable, but we decided upon a large peanut butter-caramel cookie that was still warm from the oven -- and was it ever good. It was made even better with a light sprinkle from the salt shaker. We also shared a Black Forest bar with frosting that tasted a bit refrigeratory; the chocolate sponge cake layers were dry but the cherry filling was tart-sweet and delicious. The patio provided a relaxing space to sit, sip and snack as we watched the denizens of this lovely neighborhood stroll by.

Served with a dark chocolate biscotti filled with orange zest and toasted hazelnuts. Both drinks were delicious. I personally liked the bear cookie more because the biscotti was a little too hard for my liking. I really liked this year's features but out of the 8 hot chocolates I've tried from here over the years, these weren't in the top 3. On my first visit, I wasn't sure what the Zaku Zaku cream puff was, so the staff kindly let me try a sample. I was sold immediately. The custard was light and creamy, and the choux was perfectly crisp on the outside. The flavor brought me right back to a cream puff I had years ago in Saitama. It was such a familiar taste, and I hadn't been able to find it again until now. I'm so happy I found it here. I came back the following week, but unfortunately most of the popular items were already sold out. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu. I might even get my birthday cake from here this year!

It's been a few years since the last time we had a non ice cream cake for her birthday. I had fun researching online where to buy her Tiramisu cake from. Looked at sizes, shapes, prices....etc. Finally settled on this Tiramisu cake from Patisserie Le Pont. Awesome choice! Very very happy with this Tiramisu cake. The coffee flavor was very strong and the sweetness level was nicely balanced. A lot of other places made their Tiramisu cakes very fancy looking. This one had the more simple, traditional look which I preferred. It also made it easier to slice and share. The one thing that could have been better...there was so much coffee in this Tiramisu that it seemed to somehow spill out of the cake and onto the cake board. This made things a bit messy. I had to search for a platter in the kitchen that would be big enough to hold the cake on the cake board as the board was too messy for us to lay it straight onto the table. Love that it was loaded with coffee, but it was possibly a bit too much or else some new method needs to be found for keeping the coffee from spilling out and making things messy. Highly highly recommend this Tiramisu cake. It was sooooo good!
