A great winery! All of the wines we sampled were fantastic and the owners of the winery are amazing host. They take the time to tell you about their wines and offer suggestions. Our favorites were Red sky, shipwreck red, and the Niagara! The winery its self is beautiful with amazing views! You need to stop at this one! read more

We haven't been here in 5 years. So much has changed. New sign, expanded the building. I was absolutely impressed. The wine e is still great, owners are very nice. I love the place. So nice. My only complaint is when you walk in there is so much room. Put some tables, sell by the glass. read more

I have been here about 4 or 5 times and each time is a fine to bad experience. I generally come with a small group of three to six people during the Lake Erie Wine Trail. For the first couple of times, I have been on the trail I had been sober and even then, when we leave each and every person has a story about the rude staff. The hosts are especially short with every group that comes through. While I can generally understand being a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people that come through there is no reason to yell and scold people who are just trying to enjoy your scenery. I love looking at the sand and beach glass from around the world and the widow view is gorgeous but that is about the only enjoyable part of the whole experience. I once brought my new to wine friend so she could experience a wide variety of wine without the commitment to what she was used to. While we are in the middle of the tasting the man waiting on us was short tempered and didn't want to explain anything to her even when she asked questions. He has always been short with us no matter how we act, and I have never been around a rude group of people. This one winery is probably one of my least favorites on the trail solely because of the staff. read more

Probably my favorite winery in the region. The building is so stunning on the inside and it's situated on a hill so you can indeed see the lake! The owners are well-travelled which is evident by their unique tasting bar which displays sand and rocks from around the world. Really neat people to chat up! We talked dogs, Marines, and travel, and their story of how they came to start up the winery is interesting. They also gave us a great recommendation for dinner which ended up being the perfect conclusion to our three-day stay in the area. Don't miss this winery!! read more

A very friendly couple owns this place. It's also surrounded by beautiful country, so GET THERE if you can! We were well cared for on our visit to Lakeview. Not only were they knowledgeable about the wine (and helpful with recipe suggestions--for cooking with their wine), they were friendly and gave us a great map (and directions) to get to MORE wine! After a nice tour of the facility, we moved on. Glad we took the time to find Lakeview. Very nice people...i suggest you go there! read more

Such welcoming staff and a pup! The parking area has lots of area. The view from the windows in the winery were beautiful with the fall foliage. The bar has a collection of sand from all over the world which makes for a fantastic display. The sweeter wines I tried were Red Sky and Cavitation which both were fantastic. Highly recommend stopping in to chat with the staff and sample their wines! read more

Lakeview Wine Cellars - a display of rocks and stones - Wineries Near Me - North East, Pennsylvania

This is a beautiful place! The owners are so nice and they really take pride in the work they put in to their wines. The dog is very friendly too. My wife and I kind of wish we went here first on our trip in the Erie, PA area because they are very informative and passionate about the place to go and things to do in their local area. They make some really nice wines so it is worth the trip. Don't be afraid of the scary wooden bridge. Just do it. Close your eyes and drive across ... no wait, don't do that .... you know what I mean. You'll make it. You'll be happy you did! read more

My husband and my daughter and I had a fantastic wine tasting today. What made it special was the hostess Alisha, who made it an event. During Covid times we are so isolated, but she made three groups of tasters, seated across from one another into a social event. She made it fun, and almost like a party. Not your bland, impersonal wine tasting. And the location is bucolic with gorgeous vineyards, beautiful tree linings, today in autumnal colors, and a view of lake Seneca which we appreciated on a rainy day. Barbara read more

Spent a weekend in and around Dunkirk, NY with the significant other and some family, tasting what the region had to offer. Over the course of 3 days, we probably visited close to a couple dozen wineries, and tasted almost 75 different wines. Despite all the activities, Lakeview really stood out in my book. The shop is a bit off the beaten path. We came across it more by accident than anything else. Crushed stone road, rather generic building, it didn't really look like anything spectacular from the outside, but I was mistaken. The place is super clean, as in you could eat off the floors clean. The owner, a truly enthusiastic and knowledgable retired man who's dream it was to start a winery, owns and runs the shop himself. He offered us a tour of the grounds and how exactly they make the wine, which was a nice treat. The back has a bottle shaped pond, a grapes planted over a number of acres, and a great little seating area. A few of the wines have won awards, and they poured a generous amount for our tastings. He was happy to answer any and all questions we had about the wine process in general, or their wines in specific. He even went so far as to provide us with a map of some additional nearby wineries and even mark some new ones down that had yet to be added to the maps. I liked the Concord wine (not much of a dry wine person) and bought a couple of bottles. Just the atmosphere and friendliness went a long way to making us feel welcomed and helping us to enjoy the trip. Would definitely return, if for nothing else, just to chat and learn a bit more. read more

Stopped here with our travel trailer on our way to Michigan as the winery is a Harvest Host site. Spent the afternoon sipping some excellent wine out on the deck and chatting with our hosts. Very nice people. Finished off a bottle of their sparling wine (yum!) with byo cheese and crackers. A very restful day and overnight. Oh, and we bought 9 bottles of wine to boot- should be great to have on our long trip! read more

Really beautiful space. Wines are pretty similar to the wines at many of the local places- they do best at the sweet ones- their Niagara was my favorite out of the wineries we visited. read more

Beautiful location and views. Stopped here based on the reviews and was not disappointed!! The owners were great people and very friendly. I'm not a wine drinker since I can't seem to find the right one for me. Well I found it here, and left with a bunch. I will be back again and am fortunate enough to have friends in the area that can keep me supplied!! read more

My bf and I decided to hit some wineries that I had not been to previously (he has basically been to all of them!) this past Saturday afternoon and I am so glad we stopped at Lakeview! The woman who did our tasting was so friendly and knowledgeable about their wines, and she let us in on the fact that starting next month they have live music every Saturday outside, and they encourage you to purchase a bottle, bring a blanket or chairs and just soak up this gorgeous scenery! Upon entering, we were greeted by an Irish Setter who was so cute! My boyfriend and I chose to stick with the white wines (mostly) for our tasting and, per the suggestion of the staff, we sampled the Riesling. This is one of my favorite Rieslings I have sampled to date! Light and fruity yet not overly sweet, it was excellent! The shipwreck white was also quite tasty being a blend of Riesling, Cayuga, Vidal, and Vignoles. We tried two specialty wines that stood out, one was a blackberry noiret and it had a nice smooth taste with a slightly sweet aftertaste as well. The other, which I cannot recall the name, tasted very similar to actual whiskey (the staff warned us prior to imbibing as well) but it was still tasty, just not something I would order a glass of on my own. There was a local artist who had some beautiful pieces for same while we were there too, and we found out also, that this is a weekly event in the summer. All in all, I enjoyed our tasting and the beautiful view allowed from the back porch will ensure we will be back in the warmer months to share a bottle and enjoy the music. read more

Coming from out of town, the owners were very welcoming! Informative about their personal winery, the wineries around, and the many things to do in Erie! Thank you for sharing your love for wine with us! And also, we loved meeting Cab! read more

Just off the beaten path a bit, this winery is worth a stop. The owner clearly loves what he does as well as the area he is in. He is friendly and passionate as well as knowledgable. If you like reds, they have a few that are worth trying for sure. We didn't taste the whites, but I suspect they are yummy as well. read more

It was absolutely great to meet the owners and enjoy their wine. My wife and I were blown away that the owners would take time to talk to us and get to know us. We will definitely visit Lakeview Wine Cellars every time we are in the area. They have by far the best view to sit, relax, and enjoy some amazing wine. read more

Nice winery. Tastings are 3 for $1 and the wines are separated by white and red, ordered from dry to sweet. The inside is sort of like a warehouse, but the tasting bar is really cute. It's sand and shells from the beach! read more

Very nice winery. Small volume but great taste on all the reds. You will really like the port. Our two labs met the resident Irish setter. Visit if you are nearby read more

We went to six different wineries over the Christmas holidays and these folks were by far the nicest bunch! The husband grabbed a glass of wine and joined us in our tasting and was more than happy to serve us as little or as much as we wanted from their extensive list of great wines. They also have reasonably priced gift items from the local area. The wife told me all about their wine shaped pond they made and what the place looks like in the spring. I definitely would go out of my way to go back here. read more

Nice place with a nice wine list ordered from dry to sweet. Also separate lists for white and red wines, which was helpful since im not very knowledgable when it comes to wine. $2 for 6 tastings. The wines werent my personal favorites but overall a very nice place with very friendly, helpful employees. read more
