Built in 1899, it was originally built as a storage facility for coal and feed. In the early 1900's it was converted into a lumber mill, then later used as a facility for teaching art classes to students in the area. The Art Loft was opened in 2008. The spacious open floor plan, 40 ft. loft ceiling, & rustic appearance, make for a perfect setting to house all styles of art. All three members of our party made purchases here. The ironic thing about our stop here was that this was supposed to be a nearer, quicker alternative to driving to the more distant Campbell Pottery store, but seeing the creative work here made us more interested in seeing more, and we ended up going to both shops. Would highly recommend this place on its own though.
