The experience: The grounds are well maintained and there is definitely strong wedding vibe. There is a large room rather like a church as well as outdoor areas that I assume are used for beautiful on-site weddings. The server was very friendly and tasting flights are reasonably priced. There were two friendly dogs hanging out behind the bar. The mead bottles have very cool labels. Plenty of seating when we visited. When it came to tasting, two of the three wines were sold out. We tried the one that was available. It tasted like pure vinegar. I don't know if it had gone bad or if it always tastes that way. The mead was way too sweet and fruity for me. My boyfriend thought the mead was okay but I was disappointed.

Our last experience was unforgettable - there was one person behind the bar and the bar was so full, you could not walk up to it. There was no one to provide the pairing for us and after waiting a few minutes, we left and went across the street. We did come back and it had cleared out. This place does offer a selection of beer which is what I always try. The wine in the pairing is always enough as I have never been fond of it. The beer is nothing to write home about either. One or two of them end up being ok but I would never purchase a growler to take home. I guess I want to like this place but the service is always lacking and the beer/wine is never that good. The atmosphere is unique for the area. It is more of a "hipster" feel and they try to make themselves stand out from other places which they do a good job of. I will give them props for that. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

This particular weekend that was a special Valentine's Day event with food pairing. Now being that it was Valentine's Day most of the pairings were some side of desert. I will say when you're a sweet wine drinker the constant sweets was a little much. I do wish they added more regular dishes in like the corn chowder or chili at a couple other wineries. When you arrive at your first wineries of choice - you are given a ticket that lists all of the wineries that each place you stop has to stamp. You also received a bag of goodies that had the official wine tasting glass, a box of chocolate, map of the wine trail, and a booklet of all the recipes from the food pairing! We went out this evening to buy the ingredients for the chili we had at Merrit! Very good! We had a great time! The cost of the tickets were 32$ a person for the pairings of 22 different wineries and it was a 3 day event. Our tickets were good for all 3 days but we felt 10 wineries was plenty! Each stop on the trail provided you with 3-5 tastings. Some of the wineries also had their own beer and liquor which was also included in the tasting! Not a bad deal! Wine country hosts these type of events throughout the year! Buying an all inclusive ticket is by far the way to go! Otherwise your paying 5-8$ at each stop to simply taste the wine. Definitely a neat way to spend your weekend! We look forward to the next event!!

This place is large and has both outdoor seating on the side as well as plenty of indoor seating. The inside looked like a mix of cozy and industrial, with a long wooden bar stretching the length of the room, warm pendant lights hanging overhead, colorful beer boards on the wall, and shelves lined with bottles and glassware behind the bar. It had a relaxed but lively feel to it. After looking around to figure out where we wanted to sit, we ultimately chose the bar. For lunch on this day I chose to go with the pimento smash deluxxxe while my wife went with the pesto pizza. The menu described my meal as two smash patties, bacon, American cheese, pimento cheese, and onion rings on a brioche bun while my wife's was described as parsley basil pesto, triple cheese blend, fire roasted tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. I thought that the burger here was delicious as the patties were seasoned nicely and I appreciated the onion rings. While there was plenty of cheese and it was flavorful, I almost could have used more of the pimento. Then my wife liked her pizza here especially the pesto combined with the fire roasted tomatoes. Then for drinks, as I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Lavery Brewing, a flight consists of 6 beers and I chose the Active Recovery, Seeking Clarity, Lime n Cuke, Throwing Tropical Shade, Sound Mild, and Divine Intervention for my flight. I first started with the Active Recovery which was light and hoppy and very drinkable. Up second was the Seeking Clarity which had a clean start before a heavy dose of hops in the middle which surprisingly didn't linger. Third was the Lime n Cuke which has a strong cucumber smell and the drink itself is dry like most goses with a mild lime and stronger cucumber flavor. Fourth was Throwing Tropical Shade and you could really taste the orange and other tropical flavors with a finish flavor of coconut. For me this was a really delicious beer. Up fifth was the Sound Mild which was light but you got the nice flavor of those toasted malts at the finish. Last but certainly not least was the Divine Intervention which had a strong coconut flavor on the finish. Out of the bunch my favorite ended up being the Throwing Tropical Shade. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed the beverages and the food and we left both happy and stuffed.
