Cajun shrimp stuffed mushroom caps
Charity S.

We came here for their Valentine's Day dinner and it was delicious! We started with the Cajun shrimp stuffed mushroom caps and the special was a filet wrapped with bacon, lobster tail and mussels. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, they had the fire place going, and our waitress was amazing! Incredible food and incredible service.

We came here for a late lunch. It was not very busy at the time so we were able to pick our seats from the litter. The outdoor seating area is nice with plenty of seats and covered and uncovered options. Great views! I got the bison burger, my better two-fourths got the chicken club. One of our friends got the jalapeno burger and the other also the bison. We got the Cajun shrimp/ shrooms appetizer to round off the meal. The food was not bad but the burgers were on the dry side, all around. The accompanying sauce was needed and together made for a good meal. My onion rings were pretty good and the kettle chips wich was another side option were awesome. The Cajun shrimp appetizer was really good. Shout out to the staff for great service and friendliness. In short, the food was fine, the views divine. I would rate the service 9.9. it's worth a visit for the setting and ambience.

Best view, services and the food!!!

View is stunning, services is memorable and food is so well cooked. The best experiences ever in US.

4-25-22 Quality food for take out when other places were sold out or closed. Doc provided dinner for grandpup's birthday party. We had fried calamari, Buffalo wings and hucklebrrry ice cream and huckleberry bread pudding to share Doc got a bison burger. Hubs had a classic burger. They chose Surf and Turf for me with skewered shrimp and steak. Grandpup had a chicken entree I stayed back with Grandpup in the 2 story log cabin and figured out the fireplace and plugged in the heater All entrees were boxed in waxed lined cartons with generous amounts of vegetables, fresh salad and mine had a baked potato with the works. The food was definitely prepared and seasoned just right, we had enough leftovers for part of another dinner. A perfect choice for a celebration dinner.

Lots of places close early or are closed for the season, so we were so lucky to have found Lakeside Lodge still open at night. We arrived just before closing and they were able to help us with a take out order. Pros: -great view of the lake that this business looks out onto -helpful staff -good food! -open late Cons: -n/a Other: -it's a bar, so there's pool tables, and dollar bills attached to the walls -it gets dark here late at night. Remember how you drove in. We got a bit turned around as we tried to exit and found ourselves by some cabins and had to retrace our steps. -road has a few dips/pot holes. Drive slowly.

Trash can nachos--my daughter said they were the best nachos she's ever had!

A friend recommended Lakeside Lodge to us, and we are sure glad we listened. Consider me your friend, and take this as a recommendation! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess, Michelle, who has the most beautiful smile! Checkin process was smooth and quick. We got to our spacious 1 bedroom cabin, and were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. After getting settled, we went back to the main lodge for dinner. Who would've guessed we'd get five star dining on a lake in the middle of nowhere in Idaho?! The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, and the view over the lake was stunning--until a crazy stormed whipped up from out of nowhere, and the staff quickly helped us move inside. Katherine was our friendly server, and chef Rick is a cool guy who came around to the tables to make everyone feel welcome. We ordered the trash can nachos, stuffed mushrooms, and bbq buffalo wings for appetizers. For main course we had Bison NY steak, seared ahi (sorry didn't take a pic), and bison fajitas. All of the food was amazing. We will definitely be back!!

Actually, there is indeed a village of brand new cabins situated right off the highway. Not near a meadow or wildlife. There is still landscaping and driveway work going on. You cannot drive to your cabin but are welcome to use a wagon to haul your stuff. There is no coffee maker or hair dryer. Coffee is available inside the office. There is a refrigerator and ice is available. I didn't see any bicycles to use as advertised on hotels.com but there's really no place to ride them anyway. The TV is great! You can watch Netflix and Roku by entering your account number. There is a table and two stools, a loveseat, and a coffee table. We had two Queen beds and there were plenty of electrical outlets. Couldn't figure out the wall air conditioner but the nights are cool. There is a bathroom with tub in the cabin. I'm giving 3.5 stars for the nice new bedding and towels, the cabin itself, and the promising future of Cabin Village. It is about 25 miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park, there is a grocery store and gas station across the road and a couple restaurants on the other side of the highway.

The rooms were spacious and super clean. The staff is super nice and the breakfast is delicious with a pancake making machine. After checkout, I discovered a $20+ charge on my card for a supposed "welcome gift box" that I never received and was never told about. According to the hotel, it included a small stuffed animal and some Snickers -- except none of it was in the room. When I called to dispute the charge, I got bounced between staff and management. They claimed they did an "investigation," but still refused to refund me. Charging guests for items they never received and then refusing to resolve it feels deceptive and extremely unprofessional. Advice for future guests: the second you enter your room, take timestamped photos or videos of everything before touching anything. Then immediately ask the front desk if there are any paid gift boxes or welcome items connected to your stay. If they say yes, do NOT go check by yourself -- bring a supervisor or manager into the room with you so everything is documented on the spot. Otherwise, you could end up being charged for something that was never there. Unfortunately, this felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a scam-style scheme hoping guests won't notice until they're already miles away.

Jared's Wild Rose Resort - Gym used to store mattresses

Jared's Wild Rose Resort

Jared's Wild Rose Resort was a huge disappointment. I really must applaud whoever did their website…read morebecause it portrays a wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately, the reality is quite different. We had booked a hotel style room in one of their buildings. They also have cabins and RV hook ups. As soon as we found the place, their very dated and faded sign out front was the first indication that this place was old. It's over 100 years old and in many ways, feels like it. Despite this being a large property, it was pretty deserted. We only saw a couple of other people staying there. A pay phone on the wall. The "arcade" was dingy and outdated. The gym seems to be storage room. I opened the door to the gym and there was a mattress inside almost blocking the door. The first room they showed us felt like a basement because the view was slightly below ground, looking at galvanized metal placed just outside the window. The room was tiny and smelled musty. We asked for a different room. The second room they showed us was also tiny and smelled musty. It had a view that still made it feel like a basement, but at least it didn't have metal outside the window. We asked for a different room. The third room was bigger and had a full window view. It didn't smell, so we took it. We could see the resort was old and dumpy, but figured a clean bed and a shower was really all we needed. Our mistake was assuming the room actually had a bed. The so-called bed turned out to be nothing more than a queen sized metal cot with a thin mattress on it. OMG, that thing was so uncomfortable! At 3am we still hadn't been able to ignore the discomfort and had not gotten to sleep yet. My back was in so much pain!! We had booked four nights there, but we couldn't survive one. We started calling around to find another hotel with real beds and a vacancy. Once we found one, we packed up the car and checked out when the office opened. The guy at the desk didn't seem surprised at all and was very nice about it. Clearly he's used to the complaints. Jared's Wild Rose has been dying a long slow death. Best to avoid it and stay at a place for the living.

I learned early on in my searches that someone in the state of maybe the State Fish and game or tourism board in the state of Idaho filters/disallows/removes any negative or informative utube reviews off of the internet completely. I had a very hard time finding out ANY UP-TO-DATE information about fishing on Henry lake and want to warn anyone reading this now that this place is ANCIENT HISTORY. I spent two days on and around this lake fishing hard and never seen one person catch a single fish. The lake was completely loaded with Algae columns and it is only 28 feet at its deepest to very very hard to troll. There were millions of gnats and bugs all over the lake so if there was any fish they were full to the gills with food. We did not even see small minnows or perch or anything. Sad to say they have not spent any money on this lake for years to keep the trout stock up to par. After being a 100 ton Coast Guard licensed Captain for decades and trained to look for conditions and reasons I firmly believe that this lake STOPPED planting any trout years ago. when you walk into the Restaurant tackle store at Jareds Wild Rose Resort ALL of the past big trout catch photos are all on polaroids and all from the early 2000's over 20 years ago. No newer catches on the wall of photos than that. CHECK OUT THE ATTACHED BULLSHIT OLD TIME PHOTOS, NOTHING MORE RECENT THAN 2006....!!!! This place is NOT going to tell you there is not fish but that is the case here. They quit spending money to keep the trout population up. 'They are going to always tell you to come on down and fish. They ripped me off and charged me a full day for a 3 1/2 hour trip with my grandson. I am disputing the overcharged room and boat with my bank now.... Not to mention the absolutely horrid room we rented "The Rose Room" for $390 dollars for one night, one bed two couches hah another story in itself. We had 3 cheeseburger plates at the restaurant and they were old purple frozen hockey puck paddies and I love burgers but not this one. $15.00 for a nasty nasty burger....... Stay fish and eat somewhere else, you have been warned!!!!!!!!
