The squeeze and I shared the pulled pork samminch with onion rings on the side. It also comes with slaw. I ordered a cup of bison chili as well. The slaw was white cabbage that had a hint of horseradish bite. The chili was good, had a hint of heat. The pulled pork lacked its own flavor profile. The BBQ sauce made it enjoyable. We were in town and loved the ambiance of this place. Irene ordered bison chili and a salad and I went for a bowl of bison chili also. I saw hand cut fries on the menu and ordered those as a side. They brought an order to our table, but it was actually for another table, and I spied that the fries were prepared horribly. That dark brown color that comes from not knowing how to remove the excess starch, having the wrong fry oil temperature, etc., etc.. These were really really bad looking, brown fries. And so I quickly said "oh let me cancel my order of fries" ( because I knew I wouldn't be eating these) and they said "oh your fries are already in the fryer. We cannot cancel them"; so I said "OK. Fine bring them". And then I didn't touch them, but I just planned to pay for them. I'm going to show you photos from my home of the way I make fries. You see, I lived in Holland for several years and they take their potatoes very seriously over there and I became addicted to fries that were golden in color and not burned. So they sat uneaten. But when our real waitress came around to ask how everything was, I told her that the fries were burned and she kindly removed them and did not charge for them. So five stars for service. The chili was good. Profound cumin flavor. Several types of beans. But. If you don't like cumin, this is not for you. It's essentially a cumin stew. read more

It was right next to our hotel. My family got salads and my dad got a pretty good Bison Burger. I got the French onion soup and it was bomb. The pub salad was so good, including the dressing that was fire. My dad's fries were perfectly fresh and cooked. We all shared artichoke dip with toasted bread and my dad and I chose pretty good beer. It was overall a great place to eat at so I'll definitely be coming back here one day. We had burgers and fish and chips. Hand cut fries were delicious. Food arrived quickly.

My wife and I had no issue with the drinks and food, but the service was a miss. We were placed in an odd table in the corner that seemed like we were on display. The server had a hard time understanding English and we kept having to repeat our order. This culminated in me ordering the "beyond burger" (which is what the "Vegan burger" on the menu said the patty was), and ending up with a bison burger that I didn't realize was bison until halfway through. He admitted to the honest mistake, so I wasn't as mad as I was getting worked up to be, but nothing was offered off the meal even though it was obvious I left half the burger. read more

We ate here for a late lunch while visiting Yellowstone. We were seated immediately by the hostess, but it took at least 10 minutes for a waitress to come by and great us. The food was excellent, but the service was a miss, by no fault of the waitress herself, but I believe they are severely understaffed. I think there were only two wait staff for a packed restaurant. We went here for a later dinner. We did have to wait for a table as we were a party of 5, but it didn't take long at all. Our server was attentive enough and honest about some of the food items. Pretty much skip the fish n chips and get a burger. I tried the pepper burger. Very very good. My BIL tried the bbq chicken Hawaiian pizza and enjoyed that a lot. My sister tried the French onion soup. I kinda wish I'd tried that. It looked very fresh and she loved it. We also got couple appetizers. We tried the spinach artichoke dip and the jalapeño wontons. The apps were definitely a great choice! Our service was great. But the atmosphere definitely gives off a bit more of a bros bar. Nothing wrong with that at all. But it's definitely a pub. But the important part is that the food was very very good. If I ever visit west Yellowstone again I'd stop by for a bite. read more

The Slippery Otter was around the corner from where we were staying, and after a lot of hiking we wanted something simple and easy. We both were happy with our dinners, I had a 1/3 pound burger with jalapeños and pepper Jack cheese that was very good. My wife liked her chicken sandwich. We both loved the hand cut fries. This place also has a large beer menu with lots of local beers from Montana and Wyoming. My wife had a huckleberry here that I liked. She couldn't taste the berry, but I could. In all, I'd recommend the Slippery Otter if you are looking for a good burger and a nice beer after a long day in Yellowstone. Sorry, I was too hungry and forgot to take a photo! read more

The service was extraordinary as the servers just wanted to make you happy. The issue was the quality of the food. It seems like it's a burger joint so I ordered a burger but it tasted like a Costco burger. Despite the delicious fixings like mushrooms and tomatoes/onions/pickles it still tasted like a Costco burger. My partner had the steak salad which was pretty descent with a generous portion and the steak was pretty good. There were some chewy pieces but overall pretty good. I was on vacation near Yellowstone with my family. Vegetarian options were very hard to come by. I walked in late night alone to sit at the bar because I saw their jalapeño wontons on their menu. Ordered over $300 worth of food and the people working there just have such a stink attitude. They are rude. The food here is just alright. It was something to get us by. The burgers were under cooked and dry. Not sure how that happened, but it did. Found a hair in my food but it wasn't worth the effort to call it in. After exploring Yellowstone, husband and I built up an appetite. This spot was convenient for us. It was walking distance and right across from the inn we were staying at. I would give zero stars since we could not stomach the food, but our waiter from Azerbaijan was very good. The star is for him. He did his job well, and I left a 20% tip for him. We ordered fish and chips, and the hot wings. The wings were overcooked, completely dry to the point that they were like a bad chicken jerky. My daughter ate one bite, and I felt the wing that felt like leather. My fish and chips were also hardly edible. I ate 1 of the 2 3" long skinny oil-soaked pieces of fish before giving up. The chips tasted like the oil had not been changed recently. I addressed the complaint to the waiter, and he brought a side salad to substitute for the fries. The ranch dressing, which I was told is house-made, poured and tasted like mildly seasoned water. The waiter said that they would comp the wings, but nothing else even though almost my entire meal was uneaten. I talked to the manager, and he disagreed about the quality of the wings, chips, and salad dressing. He sad he stands by their dressing. He said they had never had complaints about the food other than the chips. I looked carefully to see if his nose was growing. The food was horrible. They gave me the card to call the owner tomorrow to ask for a refund, but I am on vacation and will not waste my time to call her while out hiking. Another employee came up in support of the manager, and threatened to call the cops if I tried to leave without paying for the inedible food. I had not made any move to dine and dash before she made that statement. (Side note: I am pretty sure you actually have to eat more than a few bites of the meal to call it a dine and dash.) I paid, and tipped the waiter, but would NEVER set foot in this establishment again. Managers should have the power to void a ticket for inedible food, and no one should EVER be threatened with having the cops called over a few bites of fish, two fries, and a single bite of a leathery wing. read more

We were told a 45 minute wait, was closer to 65, lots of large groups. The bar is not for sitting unless that is where they sit you to eat. As everywhere, not enough staff. Ent to the side of the bar where those waiting were ordering drinks, the guy in front of of me was served by the bar, I waited another 10 until the hostess asked if needed something and got the bartender. He was not serving customers all the time btw, he washed glasses, he joked with the staff, put stuff away.... When we were seated, we ordered elk burgers, one with Fries and for an upcharge, one with a small salad, the burgers were very dry and, in my opinion, overcooked. Upon first arrival, we were told there was a 15 minute wait for our party of 4, and the restaurant was packed. However, we were seated within 5 minutes of us standing in the waiting area. Ordered 2 appetizers -- jalapeño wontons and wings. So delicious, and came out just as quick. Not long after finishing our appetizers, our meals came out. Everything was so quick and efficient, literally the fastest sit-in/dine-in experience ever, but we certainly did not feel rushed. Everything tasted amazing, and we were left absolutely impressed.
