And then we came back and finally got to eat here and I can see why it was so busy as soon as we sat down they were very efficient which was nice. Our drinks and food came out very fast, which we appreciated because we spent a long day at the park. Also, as the name suggest lots of great tasting buffalo entrées. Buffalo bar was pretty good. It's a bit removed from the main drag but I had the west-Mex Buffalo burger and my wife had an order of wings (naked) and sweet potato fries. The burger was GREAT! Beware the roasted jalapeño as it definitely has a good kick, but I took bites of mine along with the burger and it was great. The wife's wings for being naked and not sauced were well seasoned and a good size for the price, recommend a side of fries or SP fries for only $3. Service was quick, we sat in less than 5 minutes with no reservation. Atmosphere was exactly what you would expect for a bar with sports and video poker, overall 8.5/10 after a long day, they need to keep their menus updated when they remove seasonal beers for a 9/10 or rounded 5 stars. read more

A welcome late- dinner respite after a long delay leaving Yellowstone. We ate outside on the patio- there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so even though it's crowded, it can accommodate a lot of people. The cinnamon pretzels are the best pretzels we've ever had- wow!! They're soft, coated in cinnamon sugar, and accompanied by the most delectable icing. I'd return just to get these for dessert. The buff bites were also excellent- I got the huckleberry BBQ sauce, it hit the spot, and definitely was enough for a meal. Delicious & messy food, craft beer, cocktails. Live music. Patio & indoor seating. All 14 of us gathered here on a weekday evening! One of few venues that would take reservations of this size group. They have a good amount of indoor seating. We sat on the umbrellaed patio, near the musician, just around the corner of the bar from games like cornhole. They were busy, but service was attentive. Many of us had craft beers and cocktails. Everyone was pleased, but i could not list all the beverages for you. We had at least one yummy fresh arugula salad with sirloin cooked-to-order and a lot of flavorful bacon, blue cheese crumbles, green onion, tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and thick "Texas" toast. We shared a number of the many appetizers: Crispy-coated sweet-chili Thai Shrimp were rather small but quite tasty. The tray of nachos was a glorious mess of beans, sauces and crema, mixed melty cheeses, olives, and meat ... i think we got the rich ground "buffalo". The "buffalo balls" were even messier: meatballs in deep gravy over mashed potatoes smothered in sautéed onions and mushrooms. We had "chicken "bites" with two of their yummy flavorings. The soft pretzels and cheese were long thick almost-loaves. And i completely lost track of the mains: several of their loaded burgers and overloaded tacos. The star was the 12oz medium-rare ribeye, topped with herb butter & demi glacé, loaded garlic redskin mashed potatoes, & thick garlic toast. This was a great immersion in great food, drink, ant atmosphere. The $44 ribeye was one of the top-two steaks we had during our trip. (July 2026). Pro tip: every steak is town was good, even the bargains you can find with a little hunting. But be sure to pay a little more once or twice to get the best. read more

We spotted this restaurant online while driving in to town to our hotel we had for the next couple of days. The photos looked amazing, so after we checked in, we drove a few blocks to the place. Parking is limited but we luckily scored a spot. Atmosphere is very cool, bar/restaurant like with sports playing on large TVs throughout. It was kind of warm in there...not sure if they had a working A/C or if it just couldn't keep up with the bodies inside. There was a wait to be seated but not too bad. Maybe 15 mins and the place was packed. We were seated at a bar-like table between the actual bar seating and tables. The waitress was nice and had personality but was a bit stressed out and a little testy after we asked about our food 30+ mins after ordering it. Even the drinks took a long time to be served. I finally gave up and ran to the restroom...of course the food came as soon as I left. It works that way a lot for me. lol The drinks were good - the food was pretty good. Prices are expensive here, but pretty much on par with the rest of the restaurants in town. It's a tourist town in high season and they all know it. We determined not to come back for the next day's meals based on the slow speed of service and try different places in town instead. read more

Popped in to enjoy the local culture (we live in West for the Summers). First time I tried their Bison Balls - they were excellent! The mushrooms gravy was perfectly seasoned. I found the bison balls over salted (I rarely use it); but my wife disagreed. Regardless, highly recommend. We have yet to get a bad meal or service whenever we stop in. read more

Out riding our bikes and stopped on a whim and was glad they have a patio bar so we could keep our dog at our feet. We had the Pork Carnita Nachos and it was more than enough for the two of us for dinner. Beer on tap has good selections. There is barely any restaurant in this small town that offers Bison meat entrees. As it is known to be different in the area compared to major cities selection of meat. The Buffalo Bar happens to be highly ranked as it will constantly be crowded during peak tourist season. Upon entering will be walked into a group of customers waiting for their table and name to be called. There are a good amount of table inside and have lots of tv for a good entertainment and enjoyment. Average wait time is typically 30 minutes plus during peak dining time. The servers are nice, provided the food and other necessities quickly. Attentive with water refills. The foods were presented well and they gave a good amount of food for the price. We were here on a Sunday after church with a group of about 12 who were seated in the area but not at the same table. It was busy and we had great service. There were 4 seated at our table and our orders were taken quickly and the food was delivered equally quickly. My husband had a Smothered Burrito with Carne Asada and I had Buffalo tacos because it's West Yellowstone and why not? I've never had buffalo before. It was similar to ground beef with a slight almost imperceptible gaminess to it, but it was delicious. Our waitress was really great (like reading our minds great). When we pulled into town, this place was popping. We thought it must be good. So we dropped our luggage and came back. The place was still busy so we sat at the bar where we were greeted by Tanner. He was attentive and helpful. I had the huckleberry lemonade, my husband a local beer, and our daughter vodka soda. Everything here is huckleberry and I embrace it wholeheartedly, especially the vodka. We shared the nachos, which seemed a little pricey especially considering the cheese isn't real; more like nachos cheese. However, they are a good size. The ambiance is what you'd expect, wild animals amidst tv's. Being so close to the "closed season" choices are limited. I hear there are bands when the patio is open. Of course a Buffalo front and center. Waitress was very nice and service was great. We both ordered the barbecue chicken salad. One of the best meals we had in Yellowstone area. There's not a lot of food options near Yellowstone, so this tends to be one of the more popular spots. It definitely has a very specific Americana vibe, complete with a casino section and taxidermied animal everywhere - not really my vibe after a beautiful day of exploring Yellowstone, but I guess it comes with the territory. The food is mostly standard American fare, specializing in bison/buffalo. We got the bison meatloaf and the mountain fries, which were decent but nothing stood out other than the huge portions. One of the best meals we had in West Yellowstone! And the huckleberry cocktails - yum! The hostess was bubbly and friendly as soon as we walked in. This fun attitude fit perfectly into the bar ambiance full of taxidermy animals and large screen tvs playing that nights football game - very lively. The server, unfortunately, was far less enthusiastic and off. (Maybe she was having a rough day). We started off with a huckleberry margarita and a huckleberry lemonade - both delicious! After an incredibly long day in the park, my husband and I stopped here around 430pm for an early dinner - we really had our pick of the place and were quickly waited on. First, the portions here are absolutely massive. We split the queso with buffalo chili, which was delicious. I had one of their burritos and it was truly massive...but it really was quite tasty. I wish I could have eaten more of it - but could only eat half since it was so large. My husband opted for one of their burgers - trading the patty for a buffalo patty; he finished every bite of it. The place turned out to be huge, with really good staff, above average menu, and a good selection of drinks. We were just looking for an appetizer to hold us over till dinner so we ordered the 'Hog Trough Nachos' to share.
