One of the many mosquito bites that me & my family endured while we stayed here

We stayed in a cabin from June 14-17th with 1 bedroom, loft & pull out couch. We are a family of 6 so this was perfect sleeping arrangements for us. It was very clean & had everything you need to cook with. The cabin itself was very cute although the loft area was quite cramped. You had to climb very narrow/steep stairs to the loft & then crawl around to get the twin mattresses laid out & bedding on. This wasn't a problem for our teens & they liked the little "hangout" area. The bedding was a flat sheet, thick blanket & 1 pillow. It would have been nice if the beds were already made before we got there but I had to climb up there & help my kids make the beds. Our biggest problem...so many MOSQUITOES!!! They were EVERYWHERE and we were constantly swatting & killing them. The first night of our 4 night stay was absolutely miserable!! Everyone was getting bit & dealing with buzzing noises all night. In the morning it seemed like they had finally started to dissipate which was a relief. We went to Yellowstone NP for the day & returned back about 5pm to swarms of mosquitoes again. I opened the bedroom door and was greeted by dozens of them flying around. I spent the next 5 minutes killing over 30 mosquitoes!! My husband went straight to the front office. The guy at the front office was kind enough to switch us to another cabin which was the same layout but thankfully not a single pest in it. My husband told him about the hole in the bedroom wall (picture) right next to the bed & thats where we figured the mosquitoes were coming in from. That cabin was also located in the back of the park next to a large pond of green stagnant water! I did use the laundry room to get 3 loads washed. It was a little expensive at $13 & time consuming at almost 3 hours. The washers were ok, some of the clothes still seemed dirty & I wasn't quite sure if they had been washed even though it went through a cycle. The dryers were TERRIBLE!! I had to keep putting more money in so I could restart them for another round. After a few hours of waiting I didn't care if the clothes were still wet & took the last few things out to air dry the rest of the way in the shower back at the cabin. Also, every time I would stop the dry to check on the clothes, the time on them would still keep ticking off. So if you have to wash clothes, just wait & do it somewhere else unless you only have 5 items.

We stayed in one of the teepee's for a couple nights and it was a great experience. There is a lot of changes and additions in progress but overall did not affect our stay. The evening campfire was a great bonus and the host was friendly and helpful. There were just 2 things that could be better: the bathroom trailer was not ideal and the store/food was not available. Highly recommend a stay in one of the teepee's for a great family adventure.

This is the sign right outside this cute little place.

Great pizza! I ordered the Mountain Man Pizza without olives. Great flavor. Great toppings. Great crust. I will definitely go there again.

Actually, there is indeed a village of brand new cabins situated right off the highway. Not near a meadow or wildlife. There is still landscaping and driveway work going on. You cannot drive to your cabin but are welcome to use a wagon to haul your stuff. There is no coffee maker or hair dryer. Coffee is available inside the office. There is a refrigerator and ice is available. I didn't see any bicycles to use as advertised on hotels.com but there's really no place to ride them anyway. The TV is great! You can watch Netflix and Roku by entering your account number. There is a table and two stools, a loveseat, and a coffee table. We had two Queen beds and there were plenty of electrical outlets. Couldn't figure out the wall air conditioner but the nights are cool. There is a bathroom with tub in the cabin. I'm giving 3.5 stars for the nice new bedding and towels, the cabin itself, and the promising future of Cabin Village. It is about 25 miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park, there is a grocery store and gas station across the road and a couple restaurants on the other side of the highway.

After checkout, I discovered a $20+ charge on my card for a supposed "welcome gift box" that I never received and was never told about. According to the hotel, it included a small stuffed animal and some Snickers -- except none of it was in the room. When I called to dispute the charge, I got bounced between staff and management. They claimed they did an "investigation," but still refused to refund me. Charging guests for items they never received and then refusing to resolve it feels deceptive and extremely unprofessional. Advice for future guests: the second you enter your room, take timestamped photos or videos of everything before touching anything. Then immediately ask the front desk if there are any paid gift boxes or welcome items connected to your stay. If they say yes, do NOT go check by yourself -- bring a supervisor or manager into the room with you so everything is documented on the spot. Otherwise, you could end up being charged for something that was never there. Unfortunately, this felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a scam-style scheme hoping guests won't notice until they're already miles away.

Jared's Wild Rose Resort was a huge disappointment. I really must applaud whoever did their website…read morebecause it portrays a wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately, the reality is quite different. We had booked a hotel style room in one of their buildings. They also have cabins and RV hook ups. As soon as we found the place, their very dated and faded sign out front was the first indication that this place was old. It's over 100 years old and in many ways, feels like it. Despite this being a large property, it was pretty deserted. We only saw a couple of other people staying there. A pay phone on the wall. The "arcade" was dingy and outdated. The gym seems to be storage room. I opened the door to the gym and there was a mattress inside almost blocking the door. The first room they showed us felt like a basement because the view was slightly below ground, looking at galvanized metal placed just outside the window. The room was tiny and smelled musty. We asked for a different room. The second room they showed us was also tiny and smelled musty. It had a view that still made it feel like a basement, but at least it didn't have metal outside the window. We asked for a different room. The third room was bigger and had a full window view. It didn't smell, so we took it. We could see the resort was old and dumpy, but figured a clean bed and a shower was really all we needed. Our mistake was assuming the room actually had a bed. The so-called bed turned out to be nothing more than a queen sized metal cot with a thin mattress on it. OMG, that thing was so uncomfortable! At 3am we still hadn't been able to ignore the discomfort and had not gotten to sleep yet. My back was in so much pain!! We had booked four nights there, but we couldn't survive one. We started calling around to find another hotel with real beds and a vacancy. Once we found one, we packed up the car and checked out when the office opened. The guy at the desk didn't seem surprised at all and was very nice about it. Clearly he's used to the complaints. Jared's Wild Rose has been dying a long slow death. Best to avoid it and stay at a place for the living.

I learned early on in my searches that someone in the state of maybe the State Fish and game or tourism board in the state of Idaho filters/disallows/removes any negative or informative utube reviews off of the internet completely. I had a very hard time finding out ANY UP-TO-DATE information about fishing on Henry lake and want to warn anyone reading this now that this place is ANCIENT HISTORY. I spent two days on and around this lake fishing hard and never seen one person catch a single fish. The lake was completely loaded with Algae columns and it is only 28 feet at its deepest to very very hard to troll. There were millions of gnats and bugs all over the lake so if there was any fish they were full to the gills with food. We did not even see small minnows or perch or anything. Sad to say they have not spent any money on this lake for years to keep the trout stock up to par. After being a 100 ton Coast Guard licensed Captain for decades and trained to look for conditions and reasons I firmly believe that this lake STOPPED planting any trout years ago. when you walk into the Restaurant tackle store at Jareds Wild Rose Resort ALL of the past big trout catch photos are all on polaroids and all from the early 2000's over 20 years ago. No newer catches on the wall of photos than that. CHECK OUT THE ATTACHED BULLSHIT OLD TIME PHOTOS, NOTHING MORE RECENT THAN 2006....!!!! This place is NOT going to tell you there is not fish but that is the case here. They quit spending money to keep the trout population up. 'They are going to always tell you to come on down and fish. They ripped me off and charged me a full day for a 3 1/2 hour trip with my grandson. I am disputing the overcharged room and boat with my bank now.... Not to mention the absolutely horrid room we rented "The Rose Room" for $390 dollars for one night, one bed two couches hah another story in itself. We had 3 cheeseburger plates at the restaurant and they were old purple frozen hockey puck paddies and I love burgers but not this one. $15.00 for a nasty nasty burger....... Stay fish and eat somewhere else, you have been warned!!!!!!!!
