Their operating hours...not so much: by the time we realized we were hungry, we had to book it over there to grab a table before things started to wind down (their closing time was 8:00pm, which makes the Lakeside Lodge a lunch place, in my opinion). True to its name, the lodge has gorgeous views of the water, and a welcoming, rustic aesthetic. We didn't order anything fancy or particularly adventurous: a bison burger for myself, and some surf-and-turf sturf for me wurf (sorry, the Swedish Chef in me took over there for a moment!). Everything was good, if not particularly remarkable, but it certainly did the job. Expect hearty, homestyle cooking, not haute cuisine, and your expectations will surely be met to your satisfaction. Service was present, attentive and friendly, and if it weren't for that passive sense of anxiety that comes with being the last served table in a closing restaurant (not their fault; that's my own hang-up), I would have felt more at-ease. I wish we'd had more time to check out the restaurant and the resort, but I guess that'll have to wait for a return trip, sometime in the future.

It was hard to get a waitress to place our order and the food took forever to come out and when it did, everything came out at once (appetizers and entrees). We had hoped the soup or salad that come with the entrees would at least come out quickly, but it did not. We tried the bison burger (pretty good but nothing special), trashcan nachos with chicken (delicious) and I got the bison short rib which was exceptional with the chicken noodle soup (I liked that it had a few pieces of potato in it, we were in Idaho after all). The bison was cooked nicely and came with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and zucchini. I really enjoyed it and would happily eat it again. The prices are reasonable given the portion, but they need to work on the timing of the food and getting more help or more attentive help.

The Pines are great because…read morethey are only 25-30 minutes from West Yellowstone (park entrance) but they are far enough away that you get a clean and luxurious cabin for a fraction of the cost of the ones that are closer. We stayed in the one room cabin. It was log cabin construction, with cozy western interior decorating. There was a queen bed in a private bedroom on the main floor, right next to a opulent bathroom. This bathroom had a huge walk in shower containing not only a main showerhead above, but a detachable one and nozzles from shoulder to low back height which could do water jet massage. There was a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom as well. Outside these rooms was the beautiful, fully stocked kitchen and living room with a fireplace and plasma TV above. Stairs to the lofted room went up here and there was a queen or double bed in the lofted room too. Because the kitchen was fully stocked and there was a grill, we cooked in 2 evenings and even made breakfast every day. We did find that the grocery stores in West Yellowstone were cheaper than the one located six miles away. Since we drove home through West Yellowstone from the park everyday, we just made sure we left at a time when the store there would be opened. I think most units at the Pines come with a hottub on the deck as well. We used this on a few of our days, and the staff have a "no jets after 10pm" policy to keep the noise level down. There is a restaurant associate with The Pines, but we never ate there. We had far too much fun cooking out on our deck or eating near Yellowstone park. There is free wifi, but it's only really accessable by the main cabin. We really enjoyed this place and hope that they keep up the great work!

I was very disappointed with the level of customer service and management responsiveness I received. On three separate occasions, your customer service representatives assured me that a manager would contact me regarding my concerns. Unfortunately, I never received a return call. Failing to follow through on promised callbacks creates a poor customer experience and leaves customers feeling ignored. During my initial conversation, a customer service representative explained that in an emergency, management would typically contact the customer directly to discuss the circumstances and, when appropriate, consider a partial refund or another resolution. Based on that information, I expected at least the courtesy of a conversation with management regarding my concerns. Instead, my attempts to communicate were repeatedly disregarded. On my final call, the representative answered in a way that made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Throughout the entire process, the manager never returned my calls or spoke with me directly. Regardless of the outcome, I believe every customer deserves respectful communication and follow-through when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, my experience reflected a lack of professionalism and customer care, which is not how a reputable business should operate.

The daily parking fee, bathroom size in the room, and continental breakfast were all disappointing. We didn't know about the $20 per day parking fee when we booked it and they accidentally charged us $75 per day for our 1 dog, when they were only supposed to charge one $75 fee. Thankfully I caught it and called to have them refund us $150. The hotel is new, modern, & beautiful inside and out! Especially the gorgeous view of the river right behind the hotel!! The river is only a couple feet deep at its deepest so a safe place to fish and play with kids. There's great fishing right here! Massive trout!! The room was just ok. The beds weren't uncomfortable. We had 3 adults and 2 kids in our 2 queens and pull-out-couch-bed room. The bathroom/shower was just too small for a room that can sleep up to 6 guests. We did enjoy their free coffee that they have available 24/7. The continental breakfast was 2/5 stars. All the fruit they offered didn't look appetizing, I don't mind powdered scrambled eggs but I just couldn't eat theirs. They only offered sausage other than eggs and it looked very unappetizing. So unless you only eat cereal, bagels, and waffles for breakfast- you might not want to count on eating their breakfast, unfortunately.

The cabins were comfortable in size, extremely clean, and very well set up for a Yellowstone trip. The kitchenette was especially useful for us, and having a dishwasher was a great bonus. The location really could not be beat -- it was very close to the West Yellowstone entrance, which helped us avoid a lot of traffic and made it easy to structure our days in the park. We were able to see the upper part of Yellowstone one day, the lower part another day, and then use the rest of our time to revisit and explore the places we wanted to see more deeply. The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful, which added to the overall experience. Another nice touch was the fire pits, which they turned on around 5 p.m. each evening. It was a fun and relaxed way to meet some of the other people staying at the cabins. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Comfortable cabins, a great location, friendly staff, and a really enjoyable atmosphere. Highly recommended.

It's walking distance to everything in town - shops, restaurants, groceries. It is across the street from the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center (great for a rainy day or a break from the part). You can't beat the location. It is very close to the Museum of Yellowstone. It's next door to a McDonald's (yes there is a McDonald's in West Yellowstone!). I considered getting a two-bedroom suite at the Hotel, with a full kitchen before I decided on the cabin. The cabin had a bit more space and some privacy. This stay was for 3 adults (myself, my husband, and our adult son). Cabin #17. We stayed for a week mid-September. The cabin was well maintained, and the one issue we had, was fixed the same day (while we were out of the cabin). The kitchen is small. The refrigerator is a mini-undercounter type, so don't over buy food that needs refrigeration. There is plenty of cabinet space for dry goods. There is a cooktop with two burners and a tea kettle. Perfect for quick breakfast! There is also a coffee make (drip type). Some pots and pans (see photos). Plates mugs and glasses. Full set of flatware with Openers. Cooking Utensils. Toaster. An ice maker, that was very nice and we used it. Small dishwasher. There is dining table/chairs. You have a sofa, chair, large coffee table and TV trays. The TV trays were older, very heavy and hard to negotiate. We decided to just stick with the coffee table. The beds were very comfortable (one King and one Queen). Both had closets. Bathroom had a very small vanity but several cabinets to store our stuff. Definitely only one at a time in the bathroom, just too small. The sofa is a sofa bed, but I can't imagine putting more bodies into this smaller space, even kids. Housekeeping stopped by most days and we just asked for what we needed. We didn't need much other than towels. Staff was very friendly and helpful along with the front desk staff when we checked in and out. There is a fire pit outside that gets lit every night (including when it's raining) with chairs surrounding the pit. The rooms are stocked with S'more Kits (more available at the front desk) and that was a nice touch. We did make S'mores one night! Definitely if you are traveling with kids they will enjoy the firepit and S'mores! The cabin was pricey especially since this was Shoulder not High season considering the size. However, there isn't many other options. We liked being a short walk into town, and believe it or not we even went to McDonald's!

We were grateful to have the ability to have our own showers, washer/dryer and kitchen after staying several nights and various state park cabins. It was a lovely way to reset while we spent two days exploring Yellowstone. We met the people staying in the Grizzly Cabin (larger place, full house, on the same property next to us) and they were so pleasant. Then there is the Grizzly Lodge which is even larger! The cabin and lodge had their own hot tubs, and they had fire pits and firepit seating with swings made out of ski lift chairs. The whole experience was the best of our 8 day trip (OR to WY and back) to be honest, when it came to lodging.

I was so able to access the Dropbox by calling the telephone number provided and someone picked up on the first call. Was also happy to know that a grocery store was available. Literally walking distance equivalent to maybe two blocks but a 2-minute drive. And their laundry service is available 24 hours. But make sure you have change because there's no change machine. But if you go to the office during office hours, they're able to provide you with quarters if you need them exchanged. The condo had everything that I needed and as other reviewers mentioned, if you're going to be there for a while, might be mindful to bring Ziploc bags to store your food in. I will highly recommend this place even though cuz I flew and JAC airport.

It started out with a beautiful singing of the Star Spangled Banner, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Kevin then said some words about the American Revolution and the founding of our nation. Finally, his son, Jared, led us in prayer before the fireworks. I've not stayed at this place, but I'll remember that forever. Great job.

Unfortunately, the reality is quite different. We had booked a hotel style room in one of their buildings. They also have cabins and RV hook ups. As soon as we found the place, their very dated and faded sign out front was the first indication that this place was old. It's over 100 years old and in many ways, feels like it. Despite this being a large property, it was pretty deserted. We only saw a couple of other people staying there. A pay phone on the wall. The "arcade" was dingy and outdated. The gym seems to be storage room. I opened the door to the gym and there was a mattress inside almost blocking the door. The first room they showed us felt like a basement because the view was slightly below ground, looking at galvanized metal placed just outside the window. The room was tiny and smelled musty. We asked for a different room. The second room they showed us was also tiny and smelled musty. It had a view that still made it feel like a basement, but at least it didn't have metal outside the window. We asked for a different room. The third room was bigger and had a full window view. It didn't smell, so we took it. We could see the resort was old and dumpy, but figured a clean bed and a shower was really all we needed. Our mistake was assuming the room actually had a bed. The so-called bed turned out to be nothing more than a queen sized metal cot with a thin mattress on it. OMG, that thing was so uncomfortable! At 3am we still hadn't been able to ignore the discomfort and had not gotten to sleep yet. My back was in so much pain!! We had booked four nights there, but we couldn't survive one. We started calling around to find another hotel with real beds and a vacancy. Once we found one, we packed up the car and checked out when the office opened. The guy at the desk didn't seem surprised at all and was very nice about it. Clearly he's used to the complaints. Jared's Wild Rose has been dying a long slow death. Best to avoid it and stay at a place for the living.
