We had a good Sunday brunch at Lagarde American Eatery in Chamblee. What printed on my receipt sums this place up: "American Cuisine with a New Orleans influence." One thing I like about Lagarde is you can book brunch reservations. I think it's always a plus if a restaurant offers brunch reservations so you don't have to wait. This place got pretty busy during our visit, but it didn't quite reach max capacity. The restaurant is in a cool-looking, modern, freestanding building in the Parkview on Peachtree development. Same development as the Windsor Parkview apartments (formerly Solis Parkview) and restaurants like Fudo (https://bit.ly/41zYhFn) and The Alden (https://bit.ly/3HbUrKb). Lagarde is from the same folks behind Il Giallo in Sandy Springs (https://bit.ly/43Yw6kY). This location, the original, opened in November 2019. A second location opened in Milton in January 2023. There's plenty of free parking on-site. Lagarde had a fun, casual, and relaxed vibe. There's a sizable wraparound bar and a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. They have both an uncovered outdoor patio (with umbrellas and string lighting) and a fully-enclosable patio. The indoor dining room has both table and booth seating. When we visited, there was live music outside. Fun elements include colorful wall graphics inside and a cow statue outside. Near the entrance is an oyster bar, part of the open kitchen. I love oysters and that was one thing that drew me to this place. Before our visit, I looked at Lagarde's menus online and was disappointed to see that raw oysters were only available on the dinner menu. However, at the restaurant, there was a daily specials menu (not online) that featured three kinds of raw oysters - a pleasant surprise. So, they did serve raw oysters at brunch. Here's most what four of us got: Daily Specials * Deviled Eggs ($9) - fried chicken with "Lagarde sauce" and house plain * Fresh raw oysters ' Blackberry x2 (VA, $2.75 each) - moderate brine, light finish ' Whitestone x6 (VA, $3.25 each) - mild salinity, clean mineral finish ' Smith Point x4 (WA, $3.00 each) - moderate brine, sweet finish Snacks * Short Rib Totchos ($10) - slow-braised short rib, BBQ sauce, Swiss cheese fondue, green onions Brunch * Salmon Benedict x2 ($18 each) - two salmon cakes (red and green peppers, onion, mayo), brunch potatoes, two poached eggs, Hollandaise * The Lagarde Plate ($13) - three eggs any style (sunny side up here), andouille sausage, tomato, and cheesy grits * Croque Madame ($14) - brioche, ham and cheese, Mornay sauce, sunny side egg, with brunch potatoes (cheesy grits also an option). Dessert * Bread Pudding ($9) - spicy caramel, and Oreo cookie crumbles and whipped cream Specialty Cocktails * Aviation ($10.50) - McQueen and the Violet Fog Gin, Luxardo Maraschino, creme de violette, lemon; chilled, up, maraschino cherry * Coffee x2 In general, the food was tasty. The Deviled Eggs came with five pieces. We ordered a "half and half" option where we got three with fried chicken with Lagarde sauce and two plain. I preferred the pieces with fried chicken with Lagarde sauce because they were tastier, but the plain was fine too. I'm not sure how to describe the Lagarde sauce other than it was a creamy, mildly-peppery, I think mayo-based sauce. The oysters were terrific. I didn't prefer one kind over another. I could barely tell the differences between them. What mattered was they all tasted fresh and scratched the itch. A couple oysters weren't shucked cleanly and had shell fragments. That's always annoying. Also, when the ice melted in my tray, my tray leaked water. The oysters came with cocktail sauce, mignonette, and lemon. We also asked for horseradish and hot sauce. The horseradish was nice and strong. We got three kinds of hot sauce, all local Samson's Bite Sauce Company brand: Ghost Pineapple, Mixed Chili, and Mango Habanero. The Short Rib Totchos (tater tot nachos) were excellent, my favorite. My tablemates and I disagreed on the consistency of the tots. I thought they were OK. Someone got a side of fries (not listed above). The texture of the fries was fantastic -- delectably crispy. The best thing about the Short Rib Totchos was the Swiss cheese fondue on top. It was really good. The Short Rib Totchos were on the regular brunch menu. We were also considering the Special Totchos on the daily specials menu. Those were made with Chicken Parmesan and mozzarella. The Salmon Benedict was good. The dish was well made, filling, and satisfying. The eggs were perfectly poached. The Bread Pudding was an ideal brunch dessert. It came with two giant dollops of whipped cream and Oreo cookie crumbles all over. The bread pudding itself had a wonderful texture and was rich and savory. I recommend it. Our table was too small to fit our order. I was rushed to finish the apps. Our server was Serena B. She was friendly and did a great job. During a busy brunch service, everything we ordered came out fairly quickly. read more

I showed up a little earlier than dinner time around 5pm so it wasn't busy but honestly, this place needs to be MORE busy! The food, service, & drinks are excellent !! I got a little crazy and got the Hand Grenade for a drink and .. it is not for the faint of heart But it definitely did its job! They do not skimp on the alcohol ! For starters we had the Fried Green Tomatos and the Daily Special deviled eggs and SO GOOD. The breading to green tomato ratio was perfect! For my main, I had the Bayou Pasta and it was a great mesh of seafood and meats and it was nice and flavorful. All the food came out in such a fast and timely manner and I didn't really have to ask my waitress for anything because she was so on top of it ! We had the Bread Pudding for dessert and it was perfect because it wasn't TOO sweet to the point where I felt a cavity but it was just sweet enough. And it came out so nice and warm - Honestly, hate off to the chef I recommend trying this place and I know I'll be back to try more things ! read more

Food was great! Me and the girls had a little girls night dinner ordering a bunch of apps to share. Service was excellent, even had a dog with us and they offered a water bowl for Mr. Bruno! It was a nice area to have some grub, patio area was also clean. read more

The food wasn't bad and the atmosphere was nice. I think they were short staffed or maybe got the tables assignments mixed up which caused a delay in service. I absolutely am in love with this restaurant. To the freshness of the oysters to the tasteful Ness and their food. Make sure you check out their oyster special every Tuesday from open to close. Great hot sauce selection!! Also, check out their pasta. Yes absolutely delicious I think about it all the time as chicken and shrimp, bell peppers, garlic tomato sauce, based!! I also like their jambalaya, which also comes with chicken and shrimp. It has a cake to it, but not too spicy. I add the sauce from the pasta I get all the way to greatness try it out. The Mussels were salty and the fritters were flavorless - except the obvious goat cheese. They skimp severely on the hot honey that goes with it and they don't season the batter or cheese itself. This food is good asf! I got Cajun fries to go along with my Po Boy that didn't happen. They were so delicious that I devoured them in my car on the ride home. I got a half and half shrimp and oyster poboy! They named it Shoyster poboy! Real New Orleans cuisine! 11/21 I was sad when Adeles On Canton closed because of the seafood menu. Now I don't have to make that drive to Roswell GA. This new restaurant is Authentic New Orleans! The poboy comes on the French Leidenheimer Bread iykyk! I'm from Savanah Georgia near the water so I got to have me some seafood! This location is close to me being in Chamblee I live in Clarkston. Visited Lagarde for a girls' Sunday brunch. Parking was pretty easy for me, the lot wasn't terribly packed and I was able to snag a spot very close to the door! Let's talk about the pandemic punch. It's delicious and dangerous. I could have drank 5, but I had things to do after brunch that day (LOL). Whenever we go out, the girls and I like to order several apps and try a bit of everything. This time we ordered Deviled Eggs, Nola BBQ Shrimp, Grilled Oysters, Hush Puppies, and Calamari. Everything was good. The only app I didn't "love" were the Hush Puppies - they're not completely smooth/blended like I prefer. They do have what I believe are peppers inside, so just a heads up if you're big on texture like I am. Our server was fantastic, but I've forgotten her name. She was very attentive and kept our water glasses full. She was great about asking about another round of cocktails and getting our new drinks to us quickly. That's not always possible with a group of 6+, but I was impressed by how she worked our table efficiently by herself. Overall, I'll be sure to visit Lagarde again and try some other goodies. I have been to this Center plenty of times that it was time to give it a try. The moment I saw the Jambalaya I knew I had to try it. I gave myself a larger dose of insulin and it didn't disappoint. Went to lagarde for the first time, specifically on a tuesday for $1 dollar oysters!! sat outside on a nice day and received great service. we split a dozen oysters, but keep in mind the $1 deal only applies to select oysters (gulf oysters). all of the oysters were amazing, as well as the calamari and steak tartar. the cocktails tasted great and were pleasantly strong! ended up splitting a smash burger as well which was sooooo good. the bacon onion jam put it over the top. will definitely be coming back for more :) read more

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Great for groups because you can make a reservation and there's plenty of space. All of the food was great. Be sure to try the daily specials, especially the fried chicken deviled eggs, because they aren't available all the time. The drink specials are also pretty good. This place was just okay. I went with my friend whose been a frequent customer recently and unfortunately wasn't impressed. I ordered the blackened catfish w/ Mac and collards and the highlight of the plate was the fish. The Mac n cheese was bland, even after adding salt and pepper to try to season it up. The greens came with ham so I picked out what I could and they had a decent flavor but it still wasn't impressive. When I left, my plate was still half full unfortunately (and I don't like to waste food honey!) . I'm glad I didn't order the overpriced oysters ($17 for 1/2 dozen) because I have a feeling those would have been disappointing as well having lived in New Orleans for 10+ years. Deplorable service. We were allocated a table outside (we had a puppy with us), given the menus and a server came to drop water glasses. After that she went to the outer patio and started a loooong conversation with other patrons, laughing, etc. we waited over 10 minutes and no one else even looked at us. We became invisible. We came here this past Tuesday at about 5:15 pm. Parking was easy to get at that time, and I parked outside near the standalone Lagarde American Eatery restaurant. Addressing the parking situation: There is parking all over the place, including a parking garage that many people aren't aware of, and all parking is free. We walked into Lagarde, and the first thing we noticed were the oysters. We just happened to come in on their $1 Oyster Night, which made R happy because he loves oysters. I love oysters too, but I'm allergic to them, like eat-one-and-immediately-get-sick-and-break-out allergic. We walked to the host station, and tell her that we'd like a table for two inside. She leads us to a table right next to an open door. Oh well. After about 5 minutes, our server comes by, takes our drink orders and R orders 8 oysters. Ten minutes later, the oysters arrive. R downs them pretty quickly, and he says that they're great, especially with some horseradish, cocktail sauce and a squeeze of lemon on them. After the oysters are gone, we waited for our server, who rarely came to our table, so that we could order our entrees. I ordered roasted chicken thighs, which come with garlic mashed potatoes and mushroom cream sauce. R ordered the jambalaya, consisting of rice, shrimp, chicken, Andouille sausage and green peppers. After a while our meals arrive. Mine looks good, R's not so good. However, I wouldn't order the roasted chicken thighs again. The thighs were dry, sorely lacked flavor, and even the mushroom cream sauce didn't even provide any deliciousness. The mashed potatoes were good, though. I tried a sample of R's jambalaya, and took a quick disliking to it. It was if someone just poured too much tabasco-ish sauce in it. It was much too wet, and, sadly, R picked at his meal, eating only the shrimp, chicken and sausage bits and leaving everything else. The only reason why I'm giving it three stars was the two thumbs up that R gave for the $1 oysters, which, apparently were very popular since the majority of customers sitting near us placed an order of at least 6 oysters.
