Breakfast combo with eggs, toast, bacon, and grits.
    Elizabeth J.

Cute little place in an industrial area. Seemed to be a favorite for people working nearby. Lots of takeout orders but a nice dining room area. Order at the counter. Take the food to your choice of table. Not fancy. I had eggs, bacon, and grits. Food was good! The precut watermelon was also good. I would like the restaurant to think about using compostable or paper plates and table ware instead of styrofoam.

So this is definitely something that's off the beaten path but it gives a really diner type feel to it. The prices of decent and very reasonable. Definitely do it. They have lunch and breakfast, so you can come at the very top of the day or come and lunch time but they do close after lunch time so you have to get there at a reasonable time. You come in in there a bunch of diner tables there so there's plenty of seating. There isn't anything outside but there's plenty of side. It gives you a cafeteria feel when you do get there. So you basically stand at a long window where they have the food available for you to pick from. But mostly if you come, you'll order and no make it made to order and back style. But the lady who served me rush me a little bit but that was only because they were five other people in lie behind me. It's not really Pat, but they were jumping in line. It did not dissuade me. I was able to get a regular breakfast sandwich (croissant w/ sausage). Which was pretty good. Nothing flashy, but a good sandwich. Warm bread, right off the skillet. I also tried the hot link sandwich which was also great, much better than the basic sandwich. It was a little messy, but, very worth it. Came with hot link and bacon with egg and cheese, it was a winner. I should have got that before I got the regular breakfast combo, because that was just OK. I got a breakfast combo so it came with your choice of sausage or bacon, your choice of hash brown or grits, and a bread. That coupled with eggs, expect a really full meal for under $7. The hashbrowns that came with it seemed like they were more soggy than crispy, and so did the bacon. The eggs were... egg lol you cant really mess those up unless you burn them. Overall I would stick with breakfast sandwiches from there. Maybe next time I will try another sandwich (lunch) or french toast. Will I go back to this spot? Absolutely. Just that semi greasy cafe spoon type feel with good food, I am here for it.

Tucked away little mom band pop breakfast joint. Fast, friendly service. Incredibly cheap for the food you get. Good food!

I just love this place. It's unassumingly tucked away on Amwiler Rd right near Winters chapel.... Food is amazing and cheap. One of my favorite go to's on my way to work. Ms. Moon is such a sweetie pie as well! Great lil jewel.

It came with a cornbread, a buttery biscuit, and banana pudding. I was pleasantly surprised by the other items since the ordering site only listed the entree. Best Shrimp & Grits I've had to date. The shrimp was fresh and not overcooked or rubbery. The grits were smooth. The gravy was well seasoned, but not overly salty or rich. The cornbread and bread or biscuit was good, but not extraordinary. Those were quite dense and heavy paired with the other food. I loved the banana pudding. This meal jumpstarted my banana pudding hyper fixation. Very fragrant and not too thick yet still nice and creamy. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy either. It was a good dessert to round out the meal. I hope to come here again and have an actual sit down experience. Curious to see the ambiance!

I decided to have a tapas-style dinner with food from The Works and just had to grab some chicken from Delilah's. The menu is plentiful without being overwhelming, except when it comes to picking a favorite between the flavorful options. I knew that I didn't want or need a full meal and opted for their 3 whole wing option that came paired with cornbread. The young man who took my order was so polite and patient, as there were a few folks in line and waiting for previously placed orders. He let me know that my order would be ready in about 15 minutes so I took the time to continue my food-finding journey around the market. When I returned later, I had lost track of time and figured I'd just poke my head around their stall to see if my chicken was ready. It wasn't at that moment but I took some time to observe the process. There was only one guy in the open kitchen and prep area creating all of the meals and he was on the move. If I could add smells to my review, this one would smell like fried chicken and cornbread. It was all so fresh! When my order was ready, I only made one other stop before heading to my car to go home to my family... but not before I tested those whole wings from Delilah's. When I say that they were fresh out of the grease? Babehhh. It's like he just threw them right into the basket only seconds before. It was sooo crunchy, so juicy, just a fantastic wing. The hot sauce was a nice pairing but some spice in the breading/meat would have taken it over the top but this chicken was delicious. No notes.

That said, the space made it feel manageable. It has a charming farmhouse-style aesthetic, and the seating is arranged in a way that keeps it from feeling overcrowded or chaotic. Once we were seated, we were greeted by a warm and attentive server who immediately made us feel taken care of. She offered water, gave us time to settle in, and was knowledgeable when answering questions about the menu--always a plus. As we sipped our drinks and eased into the morning, time seemed to pass effortlessly. Our food arrived without us even realizing how long we'd been waiting, which is always a good sign. Everyone in my party genuinely enjoyed their meals. My eggs were cooked exactly how I like them--soft scrambled, which is harder to get right than it should be, so that alone earned points. I also had the chance to taste a few other dishes at the table. The grit bowl was standout-level good--so much so that my friend cleaned the bowl completely. The pimento grits with the biscuit paired perfectly with the berry jam, which added just the right touch of sweetness. I also loved the potato fritters--they're like hash browns, but the fritter style gives you a completely different experience from your typical breakfast side. Crispy, satisfying, and definitely worth ordering. As for my French toast--it was perfectly done and incredibly satisfying. A sweet, comforting finish to a great dining experience. Overall, between the atmosphere, service, and quality of the food, this place definitely delivered. I'd gladly wait again.

I'll keep it simple the food was good, don't get me wrong. But for the price, it just didn't match up. This is one of those places that works if you're trying to impress clients or enjoy the atmosphere. Strip away the location, and the food-to-price ratio probably lands much lower. Just my take. The chicken was alright, but I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, let alone consider it the world's best. This joint is located in the lower hub, but I believe there's also an outside street entrance. Upon entering, we were told to sit anywhere. The interior is rather dim, and it wasn't super clean as there were still some crumbs on our table from the last people who dined there. There is also a very casual feel to the place, exemplified by the fact that food is served on styrofoam plates and paper trays. FOOD: 2-Piece Dark (Thigh & Leg) (4/5) - Chicken was nice and crispy, but nothing crazy special to me. I was expecting it to be spicier. Liked it more with the Louisiana hot sauce on the table. The chicken rests on a slab of white bread and is served with average slaw and sweet baked beans. Fried Okra (3.5/5) - First time having fried okra. Not bad, and I guess frying it eliminates the slimy texture associated with okra. SERVICE: I am not usually one to complain about service. The person who served us was sweet when we did interact, but it was so hard to get their attention to order and get the bill. But beyond that, the kitchen was noticeably SLOW. My brother and I literally only ordered one plate/portion to share since we wanted to try more places, but it took over half an hour to receive our food. They do emphasize that food is cooked to order, but I still found the wait to be baffling. TLDR// Come here or don't, but if you do, make sure you are not on a time crunch. Maybe I am just being harsh because I was expecting more from a place claiming to have the world's best.
